The chair screeched as Jedrick stood up to his feet with a feral look on his face.
"Boyfriend?" he clenched out the word with malice. Arsenio remained unaffected by his outrage; instead, he just smirked in his direction and tucked his hands into his pockets.
"Yup but we both haven't discussed it yet after our first kis…oomph! Hey!" I stomped on his feet and shut his mouth by interrupting his sentence with a death glare.
"Ahaha…he is just bluffing, just don't mind him, Jedrick," I told him as I laughed it off awkwardly. Before Jedrick could lash out at us, the waitress arrived with our meal. Jedrick composed himself with an intake of a deep breath. As I was about to sit beside Arsenio, Jedrick grabbed my arm and pulled the chair beside his for me to sit.
I gave him a baffled look but he only glared at me as if I was a brat. I instantly looked away from his intimidating eyes and took a seat near the window sill and Jedrick placed himself beside me.
My heart was racing whenever I look into his dark magnetic eyes and I could feel the blood rushing through my veins. My face flushed with some unknown emotions at his proximity. I could feel his warmth and I was feeling like a school girl who had her first crush on her classmate.
I took a glimpse at Jedrick whose jaw was clenched with anger and his knuckles were turning white at the sight of Arsenio. His veins were popping out on his muscular arms due to his clenched fists.
He looked hot!
I noticed that he was wearing a black button-down shirt with its sleeves rolled up to his elbows. The shirt fits him like a second skin, showing his lean muscles and taunt body. His hair was messy on the top and his jaw was peppered with slight stubble. The top two buttons of his shirt were undone and I was looking at him in a daze.
By this time all the females' attention was solely focused on the two Greek gods on our table, but my attention was stolen by the god of the underworld.
Jedrick was not looking at me, he was busy glaring at Arsenio and I was busy ogling at him. My stomach fluttered at his sight and I could feel someone's gaze on me. I turned to my front and noticed that Arsenio was looking at me with a confused expression. I totally forgot about his presence and I kind of feel bad for him.
I like Arsenio, he was good for my future but my heart wants Jedrick.
Our heart wants what it wants.
"You are with Caitlin on that day. What are you doing here?" Jedrick asked Arsenio with a stoic expression. His sharp jawline ticked at the sides of his face. I took his fisted hand in mine and intertwined my fingers with his. I gave him a soft squeeze as if to tell him not to be rude to Arsenio.
He looked at my concerned face and heaved a sigh. His shoulders relaxed and he gave back a small squeeze to my hand which was still in his as if assuring me that he wouldn't create havoc. A single touch from me was all that took for him to relax.
My hand was so small in his. His was so bigger and warmer than mine, which gave me a sense of protection. Arsenio's eyes noticed the movement of our upper arm and he glared at Jedrick's plate. Did he know what I was doing under the table?
"I am her bodyguard. I am here for her protection." He answered Jedrick remaining in his cool. I feel like I was cheating on Arsenio even though we hadn't talked about our relationship yet.
"Caitlin is here?" Jedrick asked him with a surprised expression.
"Yup."
"I see," Jedrick morphed his expression to an unreadable one. After their little conversation, we all ate in silence. I tried to pull away my hand from his grip, but he didn't allow me, instead, his grip on me tightened.
I scowled at Jedrick and tried to pry my hand away from him, but he just gave me a lopsided grin which made my heart melt into a puddle of goo. I noticed Arsenio's grip on his fork tightened but his gaze was focused on his plate. He looked tensed.
I was a right-handed person but that evening I ate with my left hand since my right hand was enjoying the warmth of Jedrick's hand.
Arsenio's eyes would dart between Jedrick and me occasionally, but he didn't say anything. After our meal, I excused myself to the lady's room. After doing my business, I exited the restroom to bump into a hard body. I almost fall on my ass but the person steadied me by placing their hands on my shoulder.
I looked up at the person to thank them but stopped myself when I noticed who it was.
"Arsenio! What are you doing here?" I asked him with a flabbergasted expression and pulled myself away from his hold. He tucked his hands into his denim pockets and looked down at me with a small smile. He looked kind of sad.
"You like him, don't you?" he asked me straight away which made my eyes to widen with shock. I opened my mouth like a fish out of water. I didn't know how to respond to his question, because my heart and brain were wavering between Arsenio and Jedrick.
My brain chose Arsenio, but my heart chose Jedrick. Due to my bad experience with my first love, my brain chose Arsenio, since he was a safe option for me. He was smart, handsome, rich, kind, funny, easy-going and he had everything that a woman desires in a man.
But my heart was like a kid, it doesn't care about the problems that came along with Jedrick. Jedrick was smart like a criminal. He was rich. He was handsome in a dark and rugged way. He was the god of the underworld but his life was filled with gore, blood, punishments, sins, criminals, and didn't know whether I could hold up with him.
He was stoic and serious most of the time, he doesn't do jokes but he teases me more often nowadays. His life was dark and he never loved anyone before, let alone he had no idea what love was.
"I-I don't know," I heaved a sigh with exhaustion. I am still processing, these new found feelings for Jedrick.
Do I love him?
