She had a thick accent but I was grateful that she speaks English. The entire time she didn't raise her eyes to his face. It looked like she had great respect for him and I had no idea why she was calling him master. I mean, it was the twenty-first century for god's sake.
"What?! This castle has forty-eight bedrooms. How is every room occupied?" my boss asked her with surprise.
"Due to the new issue that has risen, many of your admirers are staying here to support you," she informed him.
I zoned out of their conversation and observed the interior of his castle for the first time. There were many sculpted wood and they were minutely carved.
There were many men, women, children, and angels were carved on this wood. I had no idea what type of wood it was but it looked dark red. The majority of the interior was designed with wood and there were numerous paintings here.
I had no idea what type of paintings these were but it looked spectacular and old. I had no idea about Romania's history but I felt like I was in the castle of Van Helsing.
There were stained glass windows which were covered with a curtain that were made up of the finest fabrics.
There were many ancient-looking chandeliers hanging from the ceiling which created a golden halo above our head. Even there were many carved arts on the wood of the ceiling. This castle was such a feast to everyone's eyes.
This castle was a blend of gothic and neo-renaissance styles. The wood was polished, the carpet looked artistic, the furniture looked aristocratic and I felt like I was teleported to some king's reign.
"I think he can share the room with Michael, I am sure he doesn't mind," Martha suggested and her suggestion snapped me back to their conversation.
What were they talking about, I couldn't stay with Michael. It was definitely going to be risky for me.
"Err… is there any room available at servant's quarters?" I interrupted them before they decide to put me with Jedrick's goon.
"Yes, sir," Martha replied.
"Don't be ridiculous! You are not going to stay at the servant's quarters. I need you beside me… wait! I think it would be good if you stay with me." Jedrick told me with a straight face. My mind went blank and I looked up at him with wide eyes without uttering a word. He raised his eyebrows at me for my reaction but I was congealed to my spot.
"Err…Mr. Sandros?" he called my name with fluctuation. I couldn't keep on arguing with him for everything and it was definitely not good for me. I really don't want to trigger suspicion on people and it was like serving myself on a silver platter, so I chose the other option.
"Sir, with due respect, how can I stay with you? You are the master of this castle and if I stay with you there will be no difference between your employees and you. I think it is better if I stay at the servant's quarter. If you need anything, I will be just a call away, now bye, take care." I rambled in front of him and waved at him like a child and tried to exit his castle but luck was not on my side.
"Mr. Sandros," he stopped me by placing his hand on my shoulder which made me stiffen at his contact. I turned my head at him with a sour expression.
"You don't have to think about these matters and you are staying with me," he stated stubbornly.
"But…" I tried to protest against his decision.
"You are staying with me, end of discussion." I was cut off by his firm voice. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me to his side. I didn't dare to breathe or wiggle, afraid of drawing attention to myself.
"Martha, send Mr. Sandros things to my room. He will be staying with me from now on." He ordered her.
"Yes, master," she bowed at him, respectfully and he dismissed her with a wave of his hand. He pulled me along with him to his bedroom. The wooden stairs creaked as we ascended the staircase.
"You look tense," my boss stated.
That was because of you.
"Probably, the jetlag," I told him as I looked up at his face with a forced smile. He looked like he didn't believe me.
"Maybe you should sleep, Mr. Sandros. For all the tantrums that you have thrown today, you must be tired." There was a hint of playfulness in his statement. I gave him the evil eye as we both stopped in front of a huge door.
He pushed the door open and we both entered his bedroom. As soon as I saw the sight in front of me, my jaw dropped to the floor. His room was enormous and it was two times larger than my studio apartment.
There was a king-sized bed with four columns and a canopy on one side. The frame of the paintings was coated with gold and adorned with crystals.
There was a piano and a harp on one side and it looked several centuries old. There were many royal couches neatly arranged at a portion of his bedroom. His room was beyond my imagination.
"Are you going to stand by the door all night or are you going to come in?" Jedrick's voice busted my little bubble.
I was a little embarrassed for being caught ogling at his room. I walked inside his room and sat on his bed. The sheet of his bed was so soft like a silk on my fingers.
"I'll take a shower first, and then you can take yours, after that we can have our dinner, okay?"
"Okay, sir,"
He went to take his shower while I slumped on his bed with a sigh. I had no idea how I was going to manage with Jedrick. I got up from the bed and went near the huge window, pushing the curtain away, and looked out the castle.
It viewed the backyard of his garden and it looked like there were some graveyards were present in his backyard. It looked like a part of some horror film. His garden was huge and there were many old statues that were made up of white marbles.
Some of the statues were damaged and some were broken but some were still in a good position. I was spooked out by his garden but at the same time, I really love the architecture of this place. I spotted Cerberus scratching the dirt near a tomb.
I turned around to the sound of a creaking door. It was Jedrick and he came out of the bathroom, freshly showered. He was not looking at me and he was drying his hair with a towel.
His body was dripping with water droplets and there was a white towel wrapped around his waist which was hanging low. I could see his defined V, his toned chest, and hard abs.
A drop of water fell on his collarbone and it slid slowly through the center of his chest and it glided down his abdomen and disappeared into his towel. I gulped at the tempting figure in front of me.
I knew for a fact that I was sinfully attracted to him but I was not going to fall for him. Arsenio was best for my life. He was rich, handsome, playful, and a good person. Even though we were not in a relationship I knew choosing Arsenio would be a good choice, even though my heart keeps on racing at the sight of Jedrick.
After my shower, we both descended the stairs for our dinner. There were already many people in the dining area and I felt so small in their presence. These people were giving me predatory vibes.
There was a woman who was dressed up in black from top to bottom and there were three men beside her. When we approached them Jedrick introduced me to them.
"Mr. Sandros, this is Helena, Grudgecous, Victor, and Skull. These are my trusted…err…employees and guys this is Reynold Sandros, my personal secretary." He introduced us.
Helena looked so sharp and badass, while victor and skull looked smug and playful but nonetheless, they all looked deadly. Grugecous looked like he was pissed off and he looked like he was ready to murder a child.
They all looked like otherworldly creatures, more like straight out of hell. I gulped at their presence and shook hands with them hesitantly. As soon as Helena gripped my hand for a handshake, she frowned down at my hand and scrutinized her gaze upon me.
Her eyes wandered my entire frame and settled on my face. I tried to pull away my hand from hers, but she refused to release my hand. My heart was thundering against my ribcage and my eyes wandered here and there to avoid her gaze.
