"Don't be late tomorrow. I'll pick you up on my way to the airport." He stated with a stoic look, I nodded my head at him like an obedient employee.
He shook his head at me with disappointment and crossed his veiny arms in front of his chest and glared down at my innocent face. I looked at him with my big round eyes as if asking him 'what did I do?'
"Words, Mr. Sandros." He grumbled. The realization dawned upon me and I made an 'O' with my mouth.
"Yes, Sir." I gave him a mock salute.
He scrutinized his gaze on me as if I was a bug who was annoying him.
He walked to my front door and rested his hands on the doorknob. Suddenly, he turned to me and scanned my entire frame, up and down.
"For a twin, you look exactly like your sister, Mr. Sandros." With that he exited my apartment, leaving me shell shocked.
I was lying on my bed upside down with the upper half of my body hanging from my bed. His words were ringing in my head repeatedly, making me groan in frustration. Was that a casual statement? Or it was the beginning of his suspicion?
I dialed my senior journalist who was also the editor of our news station. I should definitely inform him about this new situation. He was the one who assigned me to this project.
And for some unknown reasons, he was aware of Jedrick's private life, when no one was aware of even a glimpse of his private life. He picked my call on the third ring.
"Mr. Graham, speaking." Came his wise voice. There was some shuffling from his background. He might still be in our office.
"Mr. Graham, It's Adeline," I told him and adjusted my position on my bed to a more comfortable one.
"Adeline! How are you? How is our work going on?" he asked me with surprise not expecting my phone call. I really don't blame him, I hadn't spoken to him since I was assigned with this work. His later questions were much somber.
"I am good. I have gathered as much information as possible, but there is a problem now. He wants me to stay with him in Italy." I informed him with a frown, I chewed on my nails anxiously.
"What?! Is there a reason? Does he tell you anything regarding to this upcoming visit?" His tone was laced with perplexity.
"No, Mr. Graham. I asked him but I couldn't get anything out of him." I informed him with a sigh.
"Hmm…be careful and don't get exposed and do whatever he wants you to do. This mission is so important for us." He reminded me with a serious tone. He sounded like he didn't care about my well-being.
It almost sounded like, he was targeting to expose, Jedrick at any cost. Maybe, he was being very professional with his job. This work was personally handled by my CEO's son, whom I have never met in life. He was also a very private person like Jedrick.
"Err…um, have you collected any evidence against him?" he asked me with caution.
"Not much, but I do have a few with me. I will send you those, once I return from this trip." I replied him.
"That's good. collect as much evidence as possible. Pictures and documents will do." He sounded satisfied with my reply.
"Okay, Mr. Graham, I'll talk to you later." With that, I ended my call and slumped on my bed with a heavy sigh.
Rehor Jedrick's Pov~
I was sitting in the backseat of my SUV and driving back to my mansion but my mind was somewhere else. My mind was still in the memory lane of Mr. Sandros's apartment. I broke into Mr. Sandros apartment with the help of my right-hand man, Michael.
When I entered his apartment, I dismissed my men. His apartment gave me a warm and cozy feeling. It looked pleasant and in a weird way, I felt like I was at home. The hell was my home, for others, it may be a scary place but for me, the place was closer to my heart.
His apartment had a feminine touch to it and there were several photos of his twin sister were on the wall, she looked exactly like him. At one point, I was shocked and thought that it was him.
The moment his twin sister entered his apartment, all hell broke loose. I was awe-stricken by her beauty. She didn't look much different from other women but I was mesmerized by her presence. I was extremely drawn to her like a moth to a flame.
I felt like, I know her all my life, but that was not possible, she was a mortal and I was as old as this planet. I could feel my heart race against my chest. It was a weird feeling which I have never experienced in my entire existence in this universe.
Her crystal blue eyes were the exact shade as Mr. Sandros's eyes. It was soulful and pure. It held innocence yet determination. I could say that the woman was soft yet bold. I could still imagine the way her eyes looked at me. The image of her eyes was permanently plastered in my memory.
I haunted many people, but her soulful eyes were the first to haunt me.
When she saw me in her brother's home, she was so shocked as if she knew me, personally. She was so nervous around me the entire time as if I was going to hurt her. Moreover, she looked exactly like her brother. Even her height was the same as him.
I know for a matter of fact, most of the twin brothers would be taller than their twin sister. Everything about her resembled Mr.Sandros, even her body looked exactly like him.
She had soft curves and I could see that by her current attire, but I was not sure whether Mr. Sandros had curves or not. Sure the man had no muscles and his skin was extremely soft but I couldn't come to a conclusion with that and besides, he wore a three-piece suit all the time. So I couldn't say whether he was fat or curvy.
The only difference between them was, she had long black hair and there was makeup on her face, while Sandros had short hair and his face was bare.
I already had this doubt about Mr. Sandros's gender, but after seeing his sister, my suspicion grew stronger than before. When he returned after his sister's departure, I noticed that he was wearing a strawberry printed flip-flop along with his suit.
He thought that I didn't notice it, but he was wrong. I have eyes on all sides and no one could escape from my observation. It was the same flip-flop that was worn by his sister.
When I told him that we were going to Italy, he seemed to be anxious and he looked like he was contemplating with himself. I mean it was common for a personal secretary to join his boss along with his business trips but he acted like I was going to murder him.
Thinking back to every moment with him, he would observe our surroundings like a spy wherever I take him. He would behave like he was not listening to anything but the movement of his ears was obvious that he was listening to my conversation.
"Hmm…Reynold Sandros, let's see, whether you are a Reynold or an Adeline." I took out my phone and dialed Helius.
"Yes, my lord."
"Did you find anything about Sandros?" I know I was being impatient about this whole 'Sandros' thing but I couldn't help it.
A huge part of me wished that my suspicion was true but a small part of me wished it was not true. Because I wouldn't spare anyone when it comes to punishment.
And I was not a person who takes betrayal lightly. Whether it would be a person who makes my heart flutter or my personal secretary, I wouldn't forgive the backstabbers, easily.
"Err…boss, you just gave me this work last night and I haven't found anything yet. It looked like he is almost non-existent. It is hard to gather information about him" He told me with an apprehensive tone.
"Take your time but I want you to gather information about his sister too," I told him with my stern voice.
"Can you be kind enough to give me her name, lord?"
"Adeline…Adeline Sandros," I gave him her name. The mere taste of her name on my tongue made my heart flutter. Father, what was happening to me?
"I think I have heard her name so many times when I researched about her brother. The oddest thing is that the apartment of Mr. Sandros is registered under Adeline's name," he informed me and at that moment, I knew the answer for my search. But I wanted to make sure that I was correct.
"I will be back with their information as soon as I can." With that, we both ended our call. Let's see how you would handle sharing the same room with me, Sandros.
