Chapter 1 - Introduction

The world of Avion, a small magical world within the Bandolier Galaxy that boasts a population of over ten billion individuals of various races. It is one of the worlds that had been colonized with the introduction of Magitech. A miraculous study that combined magic and technology into something greater. Interstellar travel, Teleportation, Space expansion… you name it!

Without it, various of species would have been ignorant of the universe and its wonders - of its mysteries! Fortunately, this is no longer the case. Anyone and their great-grandfathers could leave the planet and soar through space into a literal unending field of exploration and adventure. To find enticing treasures and habitable planets that is waiting to be colonized!

It is just too exciting! It…It….

*Ahem*…

We are getting off track.

Anway… The inhabitants within the world of Avion utilizes various of techniques that fall under might, magic and cunning. An individual would be assigned various of [Classes] to their choosing depending on factors that many, even with the help of Magitech, could not understand. For example, a child that is often surrounded by Nature could potentially obtain a [Class Option] focusing on Destruction and vice versa. Many believe that children who have been exposed to certain things before their [Awakening] often contribute to different [Class Options]. Though unproven, parents would often subject their children to habits which would more likely give them a class that would make them successful in life. In the end, however, whatever they get is their children's choosing and their decision cannot be changed by anyone.

Once a child has turned the age of 13 and [Awaken], the System will appear and inform them to change their class at a [Class Center] as the [Class Options] could no longer be changed. Once someone crosses a certain 'threshold', then the class branches out into more [Advanced Classes] and once they cross another threshold then they keep [Advancing]. Theoretically, a [Class] could be branched out infinitely, however scholars deemed it impossible as that would mean someone's strength needs to 'grow' infinitely. No one can live long enough to see that… Well, with the exception of Gods but that is a different story.

-

Within the middle of a vast forest, one could find a small family home that would give any individual a feeling of comfort and warmth at the sight of it. However, just in front of welcoming home was a large muscular man with vibrant red hair pacing back and forth nervously. A stark contrast to the calm environment.

His red eyes contain traces of anxiousness whilst his rough hands were shaking uncontrollably, betraying his 6'4 tall intimidating visage. After all, he could hear it, the painful grunts of a woman within the house and the shouting of other women muffled by the thick wooden walls. He is sure that they are shouting cries of encouragement to the source of his and her pain. However, never in his life did he hear her cries of pain so clearly, never had this emotionally detached woman that he trusted with his life show so much… emotion.

He absolutely hated watching on the sidelines as his nervousness began encroaching and destroying his sense of reasoning and logic.

'Is there something wrong with her? Should I go in and help her 'push'?'.

An idiotic thought.

As he contemplated on storming in and causing an outrageous mess, a piercing shout woke him up from his stupor. He flinched as a red and powerful energy outlined and covered his body, dousing him further into a bright red - akin to a living flame.

[Rush]

He dashed towards the house in inconceivable speeds destroying the ground he was previously in and breaking through the front door with his steel-like body. Without hesitation, he bolted up the fine wood stairs, shattering it beneath him as if it were fragile glass. After reaching to the top within a fraction of a second, he turned towards the door within the end of the hallway and valiantly dashed towards the source of the noice, destroying the surrounding hall with his immense power and might in the process.

Immediately, he grabbed the door handle and tore the whole door directly off its hinges, causing wooden splinters to go everywhere in the hall like sharp bullets. Naturally, he controlled his strength to not allow the splinters to enter the room.

Ahh... the outrageous mess made.

"DID SOMETHING HAPP-"

Fearing for the worst, the man entered the room in the loudest way possible, his voice filled with power and volume that any animal living in a 30 meter distance from the house all ran away. Fortunately, the scene inside cut him off.

"WAAAAAA"

There he saw it, a crying baby with a small piece of an umbilical cord resting in the arms of a stunning black-haired beauty with. Her pearly arms that had feathers poking out from her elbows were carrying the little thing with caution and unfamiliarity whilst her bright purple eyes stared at it with delight and love. She gently rocked the baby back and forth to calm it down. The man was stunned, gazing at this scene with extreme happiness as tears started to well up. He wanted to move over there right away, but a certain pressure prevented him from doing so.

Regardless, he felt like the happiest man in the world.

As the baby started to calm down, so had the atmosphere of the room. His mother directed him towards her breasts and began breastfeeding him, stroking his small hands with care. Feeling the pressure subsiding, the man started to tip toe his way to the side of the bed – wary of accidently making the baby cry. He passed by the two women who were giving him funny looks and kneeled by the side of the bed. Taking in the baby and his wife's looks in its full glory. He had some regrets in not taking a camera with him and commemorating this magical moment but his he was too much in a good mood to think about it too much.

As it was a newborn, it still had not developed its eyesight nor its hair yet so the man, the father of the boy, did not know what features the baby inherited from them. However, seeing shades of red on its barely developed head had given him a few ideas.

"Can I hold him?"

The woman said nor did nothing, just staring at the boy with a small smile as he was being fed.

"…Uhh… Noe?"

The woman, Noe, did not respond.

The man started to get a cold sweat. After a while, the women turned her gaze towards the man, losing any sense of warmth as if the previous picturesque moment was nonexistent.

[Silence]

Suddenly, a burst of power exploded from the woman as a greyish black energy started enveloping the baby, covering its ears whilst also keeping it safe.

A storm was brewing, and the father smelt sulphur.

He opened his mouth to quickly explain himself but found that he couldn't speak. He knew he was completely screwed.

[Shadow Bolt]

The aura given off by the women split off into three slivers and began forming three dark masses of energy that started to float around the woman laying on the bed. Hovering around her like guards waiting on the command of the queen. Sensing the danger and searching for a way out, the father turned towards the location where the two women who helped his wife give birth where previously at. However, much to his despair, they were long gone. Having escaped the moment he kneeled by the bed.

They cannot be blamed, the manner on how this man had entered the room was outrageous! How could he enter the room like that when someone was giving birth?!

And thus the world's deadliest starring contest had begun. On one side was a beautiful woman who carried herself like an ice queen whilst the other was a pathetic yet muscular man shivering by her very aura. Who do you think woul-

BOOM

Within a single instant, the three magical balls of energy bombarded the man in three different areas, one on his face, another on his chest and the last one… down there.

He screamed with pain the moment the bolts had impacted him as the [Silence] spell broke from the collision, making him crash through the wall and whisk through the air directly above the two women who used to be in the room. His momentum not stopping until he had flown across the big open field their home was situated in and crashing through a few trees on the border - his condition unknown. The two women, having seen the entire thing, both had different expressions. One grim and the other beaming.

"Pay up."

"Tch."

The tall woman with hazelnut hair begrudgingly handed the small blonde three coins that were goldish green in colour, regretting her decision on betting with the cunning woman who was looking at her with a shit-eating grin.

Back in the room, Noe continued to coldly stare at the destroyed wall which comically had the shape of the man who was sent flying. Showing no emotion but a trembling dark aura surrounding her being.

*hic*

As if on cue, the aura Noe was releasing retracted as she turned to stare at the boy on her arms slightly hiccupping from his meal. Her previous cold face completely transitioning into an adorable expression as her mouth slightly curved. Despite not being overly expressive, anyone with eyes could tell the love she had for the child was deep. After all, actions speak louder than words.

Thinking his punishment was enough, the woman began collecting her mana and evoked a spell with her mind.

[Teleport]

The man who was blasted away immediately appeared slightly elevated from the ground, but immediately crashing onto the floor in the next moment as the Magic wore off. A small grunt escaping from his lips when he landed, clearly out of the sorts as his eyes were swirling around. His previously majestic figure was entirely messed up by the sticks and leaves sticking out of his ruined clothes, he looked no different from a beggar.

"…Cavrik… Little Flame…"

The moment his name was mentioned, Cavrik suddenly stood up as if nothing had happened to him. Starring at his wife named Noe in confusion.

"Huh? A little flame? Where? We should leave before it spreads."

Thinking that entire stunt had somehow caused a fire, he seriously began searching around the room to try and put it out, completely oblivious of her intentions.

"Idiot… his name… is Little Flame."

"His name…?"

Cavrik starred at his poker-faced wife, trying to read her subtle facial expressions.

"Little Flame...Little Flame...Aidan…? Aidan… Aidan!"

His confusion slowly drained out of his system as he begun repeating the name as if he were tasting fine wine. His expression getting brighter every time the word left his mouth.

"Hahaha! Yes! Aidan! Little Flame! Our Little Flame…"

Suddenly, his bright expression broke down into sadness as tears once again began to well up on his eyes. For a big guy like him, he seemed to get very emotional, very fast - the complete opposite of his wife.

His wife, in complete understanding of his emotions, brought the baby's hand and her husband together. Holding them as if they were the most precious gems the universe had to offer. Her eyes began to turn misty as her mouth trembled in joy.

The tearful parents both held their baby's hand whilst trembling, crying with pure tears of joy and seeping the atmosphere with warmth. During this whole exchange the two women had unknowingly appeared by the door, shedding their own tears by the sight in front of them. The parents both had the same thought at the cute boy.

'Our Little Flame…'

'Aidan!'

A new chapter had begun in their lives whilst an exciting new story had begun for another.
