Chereads / Little Flame / Chapter 3 - {Silver Moon City}

Chapter 3 - {Silver Moon City}

WOOSH

A refreshing wind gently caressed the golden grass on top of a small hill where a large white tree with strange pink leaves could be seen, swaying to the Song of the Wind. A serene and picturesque scene that many artists would struggle to express within their painting. However, such peace did not last long as three bright lights appeared and ruined the moment. After the flash subsided, three figures could be seen.

On the far right the figure of a large man with vibrant red hair and beard appeared, clearly the biggest out of all of them, whilst the far left appeared a beautiful black-haired woman with feathers situated across her hair and body. Though eye-catching, the person who grabbed the most attention was the figure in the middle with bright red hair and feathers, with two especially big feathers hanging from his head. His handsome yet undeveloped face containing a frightening smile that showed off his razor-sharp teeth.

It was Cavin, Noe and Aidan.

"We made it! But… Where are we?"

Aidan surveyed the area, trying hard to find a town or city that may potentially hold a [Class Center] but found only a golden field of grass that stretched towards the horizon and a lonely tree swaying with the wind. Confused, he turned towards his parents, seeking answers. Cavrik, seeing that the boy was looking at them as if they killed his parents, even though they were his parents, laughed.

"By law, [Teleporting] to a city or town is prohibited. A spacial-locking formation covers the entire settlement, so your mother could not teleport us directly into the city and therefore chose somewhere slightly farther away from it."

Aidan, reserving some skepticism, turned towards his poker-faced mother who only gave him a nod. Helpless, he could only reign in his excitement as disappointment started to wipe away his scary smile.

*WACK*

Cavrik, smiling at his grim son, was once again wacked hard on the back of the head by the black staff on Noe's hands. Feeling a sense of déjà vu, he could only gaze at his wife with tears and a sense wronging. Noe, like before, ignored her husband's pitiful look as she stroked Aidan's head between the two big feathers with care.

"10 meter… front… over the hill… a city…"

Aidan understood exactly what she was saying. Before she could even finish her broken sentence, Aidan already zoomed through the beautiful golden field and ecstatically climbed over the hill blocking their eyesight. Only to stand completely still in the next moment, stunned out of his mind.

Before him stood a grand metropolis!

It had grand white walls with silver ornaments stretching as far as his eyes could see with a height stretching over even the clouds and black dots that dotted the sky…

'Wait… black dots?'

Realizing something, he squinted his eyes, focusing on those 'dots' with all his might. However, within the next second, his eyes snapped wide as it dawned on him that those were ships! Spaceships! Interstellar miracles! There was so many of them! He could only look on slack jawed as his horizon was broadened within the first 5 minutes after arriving.

"Hahaha, that's {Silver Moon City} for you. The grand capital of Avion, ruled and managed by House Portia. The pride and joy of every Avion citizen."

Laughing at his son's reaction, Cavrik briefly explained the identity of the city before them whilst also reminiscing the past.

'Didn't I have the exact same reaction back then? Well, whatever'

Cutting of his thoughts, he continued.

"Its even better up close, keep up!"

[Rush]

After saying his part, a red energy began manifesting around his being. Covering him from head to toe with a red energy that made him look like a God of Fire. Before Aidan could even retort, his idiotic father disappeared on the spot and dashed through the distance, his energy giving him a form akin to a red arrow.

'Keep up?! Keep up MY ASS!!'

As he cursed at his father with every word he could think of within his head, he suddenly felt that he was no longer standing on ground. Surprised, he gazed at his feet and found that they were no longer standing on the ground! He was floating!

"WOAH"

Flailing about, Aidan started to get a little scared since he wasn't used to such a situation. However, sensing the familiar black energy covering his being, he calmed down and stop struggling. He somehow ended up upside down as he turned his gaze towards the petit figure that stood behind him. Her lips curved whilst her eyes showed a hint of competitiveness as she stared towards the red arrow in the distance. Watching her subtle facial features, he began to sink in a pit hole of despair as he realized his predicament. Knowing what was about to happen, he closed his eyes in resignation.

Without a word, the woman's mana flared as she also disappeared on the spot, but not without the poor passenger in tow.

"GOOOOODDD DAMMITTTTTTT"

A string of curses could be heard across the field.

-

"The thirteenth year had finally arrived. Do not disappointment me like the rest."

A deep voice resounded behind a somewhat transparent yet ethereal curtain that shone with moonlight. It carried power and confidence as the monotone voice effortlessly spread across the grand hall of silver and white. However, an eye catching figure could be seen directly in front the moonlit curtain, kneeling. He had bright white hair that that gave off a feeling of starlight and cold ocean-blue eyes that twinkle with indifference.

Gorgeous, insanely handsome, God-like.

Even if the best sculptors in the universe were to appear directly there, they would not have confidence in replicating the boy's beauty.

Yes!

A boy!

Amazingly, the kneeling figure was a boy at the age of 13, like Aidan. Yet when it comes to comparing looks with one another, even Aidan would look ordinary. There was just no competition!

"Yes Father, I will complete the family's wish and obtain the [Moonlight Swordsman] class... I will not fail you."

A calm charming voice left the lips of the boy, replying to the voice of his father behind the curtains with a tone similar to a robot repeating a prerecorded message.

"Good. Now go, you are our only hope after the rest of your siblings failed. We do not have much time."

Short and concise, the powerful voice quickly dismissed his son as the hall once again fell silent.

"As you wish."

The charming boy quickly left the hall through the great doors leading into the corridor. After stepping foot out of the grand hall, he immediately turned and bowed to the direction of his father. Not looking up until the silver-ornate doors closed before his figure. For a while, his figure stood still, looking like a piece of art.

However, if one were to look closely towards his face, they would find that his indifferent look was beginning to 'melt', contorting into a face filled with wrath. His fair hands covered with blisters tightened into a fist, not caring even when blood began to slip between his fingers.

"As you… wish…"

Repeating those words as if he were cursed, he stood upright and stormed away through the extremely fancy corridor, his tone laced with more and more hatred as the words left his mouth.

-

Right in front of the city's pearly gates three striking figures could be see standing in a crowd of uncountable number of people of many different races, pouring in and out of the city with various objectives in mind. Not wanting to get lost from one another, they quickly moved towards the side of the road with a lot less people in order to make sure they will not get swept by the 'current'. One of the figures, after reaching a safe spot, immediately fell on the floor panting.

"Hah…Hah…"

Aidan felt his voice was about to give out. Their little competition gave him the fright of his life as he saw his 13 years flash before his eyes. It was nerve wracking to move so incredibly quick. What if he hit a wall with that speed?! After all, everything was a blur around him! What's more is that they don't even seem to care, both of them chatting merrily away about 'Letting the steam out'… Well, one of them was at least.

'ARE THEY TRYING TO FUCKING KILL ME?!'

Swearing once again, Aidan could not help but get slightly upset. The events leading up to this moment made him feel pent up and a bit down.

'It's my [Awakening] day dammit, why isn't anything going my way?!'

Even though the race lasted less than a minute, he felt like he lost more than 10 years from his lifespan. Clearly, he did not enjoy the experience at all. Having memories of that moment again, he once again began cursing his own 30 generations of ancestors. For a boy at the age of 13, he seemed awfully familiar with curses.

"OI, is that the little shit Little Flame I see?! Hahaha you're getting fucking taller again aren't ya? Though I guess yer' still just a little shit in my eyes."

Lo and behold, the source of his corruption.

Turning his murderous gaze away from his parents, he stared at the two approaching figures where the familiar sound was coming from. The curvaceous figure on the left was a tall woman standing 6 ft tall with hazelnut hair, staring at him with a cheeky grin, whilst the figure on the right was a small blonde close to his height with warm eyes and a motherly smile. Having instantly recognizing the two, Aidan's eyes lit up as an evil smile spread across his face.

He sat up immediately whilst looking at the tall human woman.

"Oya? Is that the ape Gana? Iyaaah~ I wouldn't have known if I didn't look carefully. I nearly mistook you for an actual ape."

Gana's grin immediately disappeared as a vein popped from the side of her forehead.

"Haaaah?! Say that again! I dare ya to say that again! I eat little birdies like yer' for lunch, dinner and breakfast!"

"Haaaah?! You dare me?! I dare you! I double dare you! Eat me! I'll make sure that your Gorilla body will have bad diarrhea for the rest of your life!"

Their clash was legendary as curses started to fling from either side, none relenting even when a crowd started to build up around them. Seeing their seemingly unending and creative way of battle, many relaxed and began enjoying the show – making sure to note down any creative curse they could use for themselves.

Naturally, to stop them from bickering, the remaining woman, Hana, stood right between them with the same motherly expression she had, watching them without a single change on her visage. The crowd circling them then all began looking at her with curiosity. They were going at each other like rapid dogs, how will this small and cute figure stop them?!

Though what happened next would remain in the memory of every person there for as long as they lived.

"Both of you need to shut the fuck up."

Her face flipped faster than a master chef baking pancakes. Her motherly visage was entirely erased with the wind, replaced by what every person there could confidently say is no different to a malevolent Demon.

Ahh… There is the second source of corruption.

Hearing those outrageous words and unfitting expression coming from such a cute figure, the entire crowd had wide eyes threatening to pop out of its sockets and gaping mouths that could fit an egg. Truly, the universe is big, you will find all sorts of people and all sorts of unexpected things.

A life lesson that many took to heart.

As for the two who started the whole thing? Silent. Not a single word came out of their mouths as they stared at the small blonde with apprehension and a slight sense of… fear.

"It was just a joke Hana! We were just playing around, right Gana?!"

Not wanting to stare at the Demon for too long, Aidan frantically tried to avoid the wrath of the 'Asura'. Understanding his intentions, Gana, with a cold sweat, quickly backed Aidan up.

"Yeah! He's right! I just missed that little… critter. Come on Little Flame, let's play somewhere else!"

"Sure! Let's go you… go- go- good person!"

In a scene to what only could be described as two individuals escaping like frightened animals running for their lives, both 'Flame' and 'Ape' quickly escaped the scene and entered the city. All to avoid gazing at the 'Void'…

… Lest it look back.

Seeing their vanishing figure, the Goddess returned in her full motherly glory. Smiling with delight.

"That's better~"

The watching crowd quickly looked away with fear. Her expressions changed way too fast! Wayyy too fast! Convinced that she has a few screws loose, the crowd all dispersed to the surroundings. Leaving three figures behind to stand right in front of the city gates and stare through the city gates where the two vanished.

With the rowdiness gone, Cavrik gazed at his wife with an unknown glint flashing across his eyes.

"You know… when was the last time we had a proper date? Shall we go get something to eat while they play around?"

Noe, startled by his words, quickly returned his gaze. Staring at him deeply.

Though, within the next moment, her mouth curved a bit.

"Sure… let's go…"

Glee filled his entire being as he quickly snatched her hands and lead her through the gates. Once again startling Noe by his boldness.

Though… she didn't hate it…

Watching the red knight leading the blushing ice maiden towards the city, the blonde, Hana, immediately shed her 'motherly' expression once again into one filled with spite.

'Tch. Couples need to seriously go die.'

Clearly, she does not have a very… successful love life.

Without having anything to do, and not wanting to stay any where near the married couple. She quickly took off to the direction where the other two left, hurrying along so that she doesn't have to look at the lovey-dovey scene a single second more. Though as she rode the waves of people pouring into the city, she once again saw a couple. This time, however, passionately making out without a care about their surroundings. A dangerous thought appeared in her head.

'What a pain in the ass… Should I kill all couples?'

She's a lost cause.
