"Ahem ahem.." Jennie cleared her throat as she felt kinda awkward but also comfortable.. She did not know why she felt like that but it was first time in her life that someone figured her out in such a short span of time. She glanced at him eating his food as if he did not drop a bomb on her earlier.
They were not talking rn and it was just the sound of chopsticks and plates clinking.
"Who do you have in your family btw?"asked Jennie.
"I live alone but I have my mom , dad , a younger brother and a younger sister . They are twins. My brother is Kevin Davidsons and sister is Joana Davidsons. "
After listening his brother's name , Jennie paused a little bit continued eating again. She had heard of him. And his sister , she was a world famous cardiologist. Everyone knew about her , how she chose to be a doctor in a business family. She started from the bottom to climb up to the position she was today.
"I guess you have heard about him , Kevin. "
"Ohh , yeah . Quite a lot , he and you also run an underworld organization. You know , you are known as king of underworld and he as a prince. "
That was right , people in COUNTRY X all knew that business was just a cover for the Davidsons family. It is indulged in underworld from tens of generation. So, eventually , James and Kevin had to take over the legacy. They also asked their sister if she wanted to join.
Joana answered them, "Noooo, I don't want to be a two faced person who on one hand saves people and on the other hand kills them . It will be funny ... very funny . I would have to waste my time in saving those whom I killed and killing those whom I saved , If that made sense.. "
They laughed at her weird but thoughtful answer at that time.
Remembering that , James chuckled . Jennie got a little startled as he chuckled out of nowhere.
"A penny for your thought?"
"Ohh, I just remembered something funny.. "
"Come on , I also want to laugh!"
James told her about the incident and she was surprised, impressed and amused at the same time by Joana . She was such an amazing girl with beautiful morals and values.
"I would love to meet her , she seems nice ."
"I would tell her your wishes , she is a great fan of yours btw .. "
" Tell her I am honored. "
They both laughed at their craziness.
"Tell me about your family ?" asked James.
"Uhmm, My family ... I had a dad and mom in my family "
"Had??"
"Yeah, my mom died when I was 12 and my father ... he had to remarry and Now , I have a stepmom and stepsister . "
"Oh, I am proud of you .."
Jennie stared at him in surprise.
"Why proud ? I mean normally people would say I Am Sorry but you.."
"I am proud of you because you survived , you tried to live despite the problems , struggles ypu suffered. It must have been tough to go through them alone without anyone to support you to come out of the abyss. You are the strongest girl I have ever met .."
Jennie stopped eating and looked at the man in front of her . He was one of a kind. She never met anyone who said this for her mother's death. And what's more was that she didn't notice until now that how much did she want to hear it. Everyone either pitied her or consoled her . But nobody told her that surviving until now was an accomplishment , that she is strong and she doesn't need anyone's pity but she needed support and courage from someone. She smiled sadly at him and answered, " Thanks for understanding that I needed support not pity . And I am not that strong , I also cry sometimes and feel suicidal .."
"Crying is not a weakness , but it is a strength which makes you more strong because you decide to face your problems and grieve at them. It lightens your head for solving the problems.. And about feeling suicidal, that moment comes in everyone's life once in a while. And you know ... It is just life giving you more opportunities to smile because everytime you solve a problem , you feel happy and proud of yourself , grateful to yourself for crossing another milestone not life throwing problems at you to make you die.. And if someone survives it , they eat in a restaurant with their friend in a being sentimental enough to cry and stop devouring their favorite food..."
Listening to him, Jennie laughed .. After a long time ,a smile which reached her eyes and heart.
James looked at her captivated by her smile , her ocean blue eyes watery after a deeply sentimental talk .
Finally , they finished eating food and their was a blanket of comfortableness around them even if they did not speak anything.
It was already 1 pm by then . Their lunch time had ended long time ago. But , they were calm and were not afraid of getting late. (I guess perks of being CEOs.. )
Jennie once again met her grandparents and gave them hugs and promised to come again soon. They were not her real grandparents but she loved them more than the real ones even if she would have met them.
"It was an amazing date . I loved your deep philosophical talks .."said Jennie in a playful way.
"Yeah , It was .WAIT.. IT WAS A DATE ?? FROM WHEN ? WHO SAID IT??"
" YES, Just now , I said it , so it became one . I would love to go again with you but you have to ask me out !"
James was startled at her talking so openly , he did not think it was a date for once but here she was declaring it as a good date .
"Oh,okk .."
He did not know what else to say , he was at loss of words . They both entered her car and she drived towards his office .
