"Not again!!"
"Haha, you lost!!"
Somewhat isolated from the outside world, both friends had spent hours in their video gaming activity.
"I'm tired of this." Allyn stood on his feet.
"I should get going," he said.
"Let's go one last time?" says Gray.
"Nah, I've been getting my ass handed to me too many times. I can't go through that again,"
"Come on, just one last time," Gray pleaded. "You might win this time."
"Sorry man, I'm out." Allyn opens the door and steps out of the bedroom.
"Stop being such a crybaby cus you lost,"
"Go play with your friends online," Allyn retorted.
"I can't. My dad blocked me from the Wi-Fi,"
"Not my problem," Allyn ran down the stairs.
"Hey Allyn, you leaving already?" Gray's mom walks towards him.
"Yes ma'am,"
"Don't be so formal," she said, "Why don't you come to join us for dinner,"
"I don't know if I should do that... I mean... its..."
"Come on," she pulled him by the hand while ignoring Gray.
"Well, well, would you look at that, he suddenly became family," Gray mumbles as he followed right behind them.
Allyn felt uneasy once they arrived at the dining room...
"Oh, good! You're all here," says the biggest dude in the house. He is Gray's dad and has quite the build for someone his age (scary).
Along with him, there are two pretty ladies seated as well. The oldest goes by the name; Abbey and she's a year than Beth, both of which are Gray's sisters.
"You know you're gonna have to sit down, don't you?" says Abbey. She finds Allyn's behavior to be weird, it's a side of him that isn't very common.
"Yeah... sorry," said Allyn as he finds his seat.
The mother of the house evenly shared the meal with everyone…
"Hold on a sec, why is Allyn's meat so big!!" Gray could not believe his eyes.
His mom had given the biggest part of everything to Allyn. That's unfair from his standpoint.
"Shut up and eat. What does it have to do with you?" Gray's mom stared daggers at him.
With an ugly expression, Gray could only focus on his meal, any more than that, and there was no telling what his mom would do to him.
Gray's mom seems to adore Allyn, it is still unclear why this is the case.
While eating, Allyn tried to avoid eye contact with Abbey, which only led to sweating profusely.
Allyn devoured his meal down to nothing and was ready to take his leave.
"Thank you for the meal," he said.
"You're leaving already? Come have some more,"
"I appreciate the offer but am stuffed." Allyn left, escorted by Gray.
"You can sleepover," Gray wasn't willing to let Allyn go.
"I can't do that. My parents will not be pleased with that,"
"That's a lie. You just want to go fix your eye on the TV in your room,"
"Like you are any better,"
"You think I haven't noticed your strange behavior around my sister, Your baby-face goes red like an apple once she is close by,"
Gray's word took Allyn off guard. He wasn't expecting him to have noticed this.
"I'm guessing you're gonna blackmail me now,"
"Oh, don't worry, your secret is safe with me... hopefully," Gray is indeed the devil himself.
"When you put it that way, it doesn't sound very convincing," Allyn said. Picking up his bicycle, he rides away as he heads to his home.
"I was just kidding, don't get so pissed. It was a joke, I promise!!" Gray shouted at the top of his voice that he may have drawn attention to himself.
Ally gave no reply in return until he was out of sight…
The sky is dark, but not a full moon, if that's what you think. The street feels refreshing and silent; it seems to be this way every evening. A peaceful community indeed.
Allyn arrives at his residential home at long last and packs his bike at a corner.
"Hello Mr. Brad," he greets a neighbor.
"Hey, Allyn, where have you been all this while?," Mr. Brad replied, he's an old man in his 70s, "I needed your help with a task but you were nowhere to be found."
"I was at a friend's house," Allyn said.
"Oh, just get enough sleep, you'll be resuming school tomorrow," says Mr. Brad.
"You know I will," Allyn said as he walks closer to the door of his house. He then knocks.
"..."
There was no reply, so he knocked once again...
"I heard you the first time," says a teenage girl who opened the door from the inside... she doesn't look friendly.
"Sorry," He helplessly said.
"Such a nerd," she mumbled, and walked away.
Picking up her phone, she collapses on the sofa, ignoring Allyn like he never existed.
"Where are mom and dad?"
"Don't ask me questions," she said.
Well, since that's how it's going to be, Allyn left her alone and takes the stairs to his room. Shot himself in like he always does.
*Ding!!*
Someone sent a text message to his phone. The ID's name is Aurora, and she is the same cold sister currently in the living room.
Aurora: "If you're hungry, you can get your ass to the kitchen!"
She can sometimes be quite annoying, even Allyn the introvert is having a hard time dealing with her, but there's nothing he can do about it. She has grown up feeling so special, thanks to her being pampered to the extreme.
"What's with her, anyway?"
Putting on the TV, Allyn got busy until very late in the night... so much for sleeping on time.
.
.
.
"Allyn? you awake?"
Opening the door by a little, a mature woman peeks through Allyn's room...
"It's morning. Get ready for school. You don't want to be late on your first day, do you?"
The TV is still on. Allyn must have been watching until he dozed off.
"Mom," Allyn wakes up with a yawn.
"Gush, I can't believe you left the TV on. How long have been awake?" Allyn's mom stepped into his room.
"Aren't you too old to be watching cartoons?" she asked, according to what is displayed on the TV.
"This isn't a cartoon, it's Japanese anime," Allyn defended.
"What's the difference?"
"Keep watching," That was Allyn's last words before he walks out of the room.
The moment he left, Allyn's mom was astonished as she watched an anime character single-handedly taking down every creature with his fist, blasting them all to oblivion.
"So this is the entertainment he enjoys," she mumbled in disbelief.
.
.
.
A car parked right outside a school premises, Allyn and Aurora came out of it.
"Aurora, please be good to your brother," Allyn's mom announced from within the car.
"No promises," Replies Aurora while walking away.
Allyn followed behind her with a wry smile. No promises mean she won't do it.
"Remember, once we get in, we do not know each other," Aurora spoke as they moved onward.
"But everybody already knows we are siblings, so what's the use?"
"That doesn't matter,"
"Actually, it does,"
"Just do as I say," Aurora insisted and left Allyn behind.
All of a sudden, an uproar began among the girls, which caught him by surprise. However, seconds later, it all made sense...
Up ahead, a handsome young boy stands out as he majestically takes every step. His presence brought tremendous attention his way, which might have contributed to his ever elevating confidence.
"This guy," Allyn's countenance dropped tremendously for an unknown reason.
With great urge, Allyn turns his attention away and quickly exits his current surrounding. The earlier he gets to his class, the better.
"Hey, Allyn! wait up" To everyone's surprise, the good-looking boy called out to someone whose presence wasn't recognized until now.
"Damn it," Allyn cursed under his breath. This is exactly what he tried to avoid, and so he ignored and increased his walking pace.
"Yo, Allyn, I need to speak with you!"
Nope, the handsome boy wasn't giving up, and he also increased his pace times two.
"Wait, they know each other?"
"That's unexpected,"
It seems there is more to Allyn that nobody is aware of...
