Chereads / Demonic Host Against The Bloodline / Chapter 59 - Driven By Guilt

Chapter 59 - Driven By Guilt

Guilt engulfed him imminently upon seeing the fading smoke in the room. Zaiden committed a murder in his consciousness, and couldn't blame anything else for his actions. He began to mumble in his trauma, it wasn't the first time he killed a vampire. But because his previous targets mainly were guilty, however Ellen did everything she could to prove her friendship to Zaiden.

Now that she was gone, her tragic death left an impression on him. Zaiden hadn't recovered from the trauma of his mother's death, then on the same day he killed the only person who was genuinely helping him.

"What have I done? I just...just killed her?"

Zaiden was not ready to accept his loss, moreover he wasn't exposed to guilt before. Thus, the whole situation scared him for getting his hands stained with an innocent's blood. There was no trace of Ellen's body in the room, and since Zaiden didn't use his elemental powers the sensory alarms stayed off.

'Master Zaiden!'

Curtis appeared after his walk around the academy, since Zaiden wanted to inquire. How the time worked for vampire realm upper ground, and Hexaphere which was an under ground city. The butler was back and found his master kneeling on the floor, he could sense that something was wrong.

Curtis summoned the system to fill him in with the information about what gruesome incident just occurred there. He wanted to help him from emotional perspective since Curtis practically could not aid him.

[Player Zaiden: Killing goal achieved.]

'Killing goal? What type of monster this game is producing?'

The butler became worried about the nature of tasks, although Zaiden had killed before too. But he never was exposed to murdering innocents. Curtis grew curious and worried about the killing task. He clicked on the option to get further details.

[Killed entity 1: The royal guard]

[Killed entity 2: Ellen]

[Monthly initial task accomplished.]

'This is insane! It's forcing the kid into experiencing a traumatic phase. By the time we will go back to human realm, Zaiden would be a completely changed person. He wasn't born evil, but at this pace the kid will sure turn into a monster.'

Curtis supported him in getting up from the ground, his verbal help was what Zaiden required the most. The boy on the other hand couldn't grasp the deed fully, Zaiden laughed hysterically. The unusual reaction stunned Curtis who didn't expect him to 'like' the power. Zaiden felt the need to explore his powers, he had already seen how far he could go.

"Hah...ahaha...this is insane! MARVELLOUS!'

Zaiden shouted in happiness, Curtis began to question his mental state. The boy was slowly adapting to the fact of 'easily getting away' from the created mess. Zaiden stared at his own hands unbelievably. It was evident that the demonic powers were slowly surfacing, and the boy was succumbing to the darkness.

"I can feel the power, Curtis. I...I'm feeling satiated, satisfied! This is how they killed my mother, she was an innocent too."

He shifted his crimson gaze towards Curtis, the butler could see a mad-man instead of a 13 years old boy. The innocence and the naive dreams were somewhere lost in the process of exploration.

"Master...please! Don't give in to this madness. Two wrongs don't make a right."

Curtis tried to revive his part human self, but the strength accompanied by the magic and supernatural powers engulfed him. Zaiden shook his head and closed his fist, a smirk appeared on his face with the bloodlust in eyes.

"You are right, Curtis. Two wrongs don't make a right, but how am I the wrong one here? The vampires started this war, but I will show them who is the real evil!"

Zaiden's determination might have made Curtis proud, if not for the idea behind it. The boy asked him to summon the system, since now Curtis had exceeded in reviving his state. He wanted to jot down some stuff and to inquire a little, before going back to master Michal.

After seeing how effective the technique of reality manipulation was, Zaiden wanted to use it to every possible way before he could get to other spells. Because now the demon was gone and Ellen quit the institute mysteriously, Zaiden was on his own skills now.
