Everything at Diana's apartment was normal when Jacob returned, it was 9pm and he didn't even notice that Diana was drunk and she slept early that day - he had his own things to think about like how sore he was from a crazy workout session with his friends.
"Honey I'm home..." Jacob said the moment he entered inside the apartment, but there was no reply. He walked to the bedroom and found Diana sleeping peacefully, he smiled and stroked her hairs slowly "You sleepy head..." Jacob whispered and then he kissed Diana on the forehead. "Sweet dreams my angel" he said and kissed her again.
Jacob stood up and took off his clothes, Marcus was gazing from his usual place and this time he was so attentive in analyzing every detail. He was holding a cup of coffee on his left hand, Martin was on his right side paying attention to what was going on.
"Are you sure you took his keys Martin?" asked Marcus.
"I am positive sir, he will go back in the car to look for them"
"Good"
A moment of silence passed as Jacob was having a shower, neither Marcus nor Martin spoke anything, they were so silent observing Jacob putting on his boxers, then he reached out for his pants. He searched for his car keys inside his pockets, but they weren't there. He went on to look everywhere inside the apartment, but he didn't find anything.
"It's time" Martin hoped to his feet and stood firmly. Marcus stood up slowly and tapped Martin's shoulder.
"It's for the greater good. We have to do this, for me..." said Marcus.
"Yes sir, I understand"
"We make it clean, no mess necessary"
"No one will know" Martin assured Marcus and then he proceeded to open the door and Marcus walked out first.
They both took the elevator to the indoor parking lot of the building and this time they used a car which they hired from a company responsible for hiring cars, and they did this intentionally to avoid being caught, anyways they were planning on burning the car after they dispose of Jacob - to erase any evidences.
Marcus was sitting calmly on the front seat with his black shades on waiting anxiously. Martin was on the driver's seat.
Jacob came to the parking lot with his shorts only, leaving most of his upper body on display showing off his undeniable abs and a great body any woman would die for. He went straight to his car and tried to open it thinking maybe he didn't close the door in the first attempt - but the doors were locked.
"Fuck!" He cursed. "Now where the fuck did I put the keys?" he muttered to himself checking his car. He tried to open the back door but it was locked too.
All this time Martin and Marcus were inside their car looking on, gazing and planning out an attack when the time was right.
"He's a joke. I mean look at him Martin! He's a joke, he doesn't deserve her. We are literally doing him a favor" Marcus ranted but Martin was silence, his thoughts were elsewhere.
"I'm going in, stay here sir" Suddenly Martin gave instructions and then he got out of the car.
Marcus gazed as Martin walked straight to Jacob, and possibly he was going to ask him what was wrong with him and then kidnap him according to their plans. They had gone through their plans carefully before he even went on that brunch date with Diana - it was a carefully constructed plan.
"Hey man, what's up?" Martin asked Jacob, he pretended as if he was going to the elevator.
"Shit man, I just lost my keys" replied Jacob stroking his hairs and then he exhaled and looked at Martin. "Do you live here?" he asked.
"Yeah, sixth floor"
"Ah! I stay at the twentieth. My wife and I"
"Oh! You said you lost your car keys?"
"Yeah man. Don't know where the fuck I placed them and now I can't find them"
"Why don't you ask your wife?"
"She is asleep plus I was at the gym, just got here and... she wouldn't possibly know where I placed them. Asking her will be a waste of my time, anyways thanks man" Jacob stretched his hand and shook Martin's hand, then he started walking towards the elevator slowly.
He was feeling low like he had just lost all his hopes of finding out his keys.
Martin stopped him "Wait a minute..." and Jacob turned back.
"What is it man?"
"Actually..." Martin reached out for his gun on his waist and then he pulled it out - Jacob's eyes widened with amazement. He turned back to run but Martin was as fast as a speed of light, he gunned him down without alarming anyone since the gun was placed on a silence mode.
Jacob fell down spitting blood and desperately trying to crawl to the elevator, Marcus came running towards where the incident was happening and he shook Martin.
"What are you doing? This isn't the plan?" he said.
"Plans change sir, this is the best one"
"Have you lost your mind Martin. There are cameras everywhere... we will be in jail by tomorrow morning"
Martin held Marcus by his shoulders "Relax sir! I got this, and there are no cameras over here" he said and shot Jacob again on his leg, the first one was on his heart and he was sure that he won't survive that long.
Confused and overwhelmed with everything, Marcus remained silent with a piece of cloth over his mouth looking on as Martin escorted a crawling and bleeding Jacob to the elevator. Martin opened the elevator and helped Jacob inside it - there was blood all over the place starting from where Jacob's car was and going all the way to the elevator.
"You said twentieth floor right?" asked Martin.
"Go to hell" Jacob cursed laying down with a bullet inside his heart and another one on his leg.
"We are all going to hell, but for now. You first!" Martin shot Jacob on his head and then pinched the elevator to take him to the twentieth floor.
Martin returned to Marcus and held his shoulder "Let's get out of here" he said and a scared Marcus agreed. This was a side of Martin that Marcus has never seen before, he felt perhaps his friend was possessed by something and he wasn't himself. The first time Marcus killed Linda, Martin was so angry about it and he seemed not to like killing and he was never a fan of it but now he committed a cold murder in an open space and he wasn't even sweating about it.
Marcus could never attempt to do what Martin had just did, all the women he killed over the years and their bodies were never found out again, it was because of his own anger and he always made sure to do it in a secretive area. But Martin did that in a public parking lot, and then sent a dead man's body to the twentieth floor.
"Good Lord! Diana..." Marcus was awestruck along the way and he reached out for his phone. Martin grabbed it.
"What are you doing sir?"
"Calling Diana"
"Why?"
"To inform her that there is a body coming up in her apartment and she mustn't come outside. She can't be blamed for this Martin, we must protect her"
"Listen Marcus no one will ever think it's Diana who did that. She's knocked out in her room as we speak, she won't be the one who will find Jacob's body, relax okay? It's over" said Martin as he kept on driving.
"Why did you do that? Why did you kill him?" asked Marcus after a long deep breath.
"We will discuss that when we are back home. For now, she's all yours"
Marcus didn't understand whether he should either celebrate or be cautious of what Martin had just did - but he knew deep down that he can trust Martin with his life. They drove silently along the road and Martin played Whitney's classic just so not to make things way awkward.
The elevator to the twentieth floor beeped and a couple were outside waiting to get in, they didn't expect to see what they were seeing in front of them. The wife panicked and started crying, while the husband took his phone and called the cops. In just a few minutes the NYPD packed on the 740 Park Ave apartments and analyzed the incident. The whole building was ceased for a crime investigation, poor Diana, she woke up to such shocking news and she couldn't stop herself from crying her heart out. She called Demi and Jared to come over and then she called her mother Elizabeth and told her about what happened to Jacob - that whole night Diana didn't sleep at all.
She spent the whole night at a police station filling some forms an then she drove to the hospital to be with Jacob, Frank and Letitia showed up too that same very night to be with Diana on one of her worst days ever.
