Marcus was inside the room with Katherine, they had just a marathon of intimacy and now they were laying calmly on the bed trying to sleep. Katherine was exhausted and she couldn't even pay attention to the network that Marcus was trying to watch a documentary from.
The documentary seemed to be so interesting that it caught his whole attention. He had a serious expression on his face while watching it, but his hands were all over Katherine's body which was under the white clean sheets.
But suddenly Martin barged in, Marcus turned off the documentary and looked at Martin.
"Good graces Martin are we under attack?" Marcus cursed at him.
"No sir, we are not"
"Then explain the reason for barging in here and stopping me from watching my documentary?" asked Marcus, and then Katherine raised her head to look at Martin but then she went back to sleep - she felt like whatever Marcus and Martin were talking was none of her business.
Martin cleared his throat "If we could have a moment sir"
"Argh Martin... alright, I'll be right out"
Martin walked outside and a very pissed Marcus wore his bathrobe. He complained quietly while Katherine caressed his back. He kissed her and opened the door. Martin was standing close to it waiting for him.
"What is it man? You want a turn or something...?"
"No sir I don't"
"I don't mind though, we could do a threesome. You could be doing her from behind and she could be..."
Martin intervened before he could finish "I wouldn't like that sir I assure you. Just here to remind you to take the dosage before you... before you kill her like what you did to Linda"
"Martin are you saying I'm crazy?"
"No sir I'm just here to make sure you have the proper dosage" said Martin and took out a parcel which contained packets of drugs. They were antidepressants and some for his bipolar disorder, it included serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs), tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs), tetracyclic antidepressant and dopamine reuptake blocker.
Martin brought him a glass filled with water and urged Marcus to take each dosage as per instructed by the physician. He didn't object and took each dose as Martin instructed him, he seemed rather calm unlike other days when he objected against the drugs.
"Very well sir, good night" said Martin wrapping up the drugs after Marcus took each of them.
"Thank you Martin"
"Don't mention it sir"
"By the way Martin..."
"Yes sir"
"I would like to request a private audience with Diana Davis Miller tomorrow morning at my office"
"The lawyer?"
"Yes the lawyer"
"Consider it done sir"
"Thank you Martin good night" said Marcus and walked inside the room with a smile.
He was calm and relaxed, Katherine even made him calmer when he embraced him in her arms and kiss him thoroughly but Marcus's head was elsewhere. He was thinking about Diana and how beautiful she was, how hot she looked in that mini skirt and he wished he could've taken her right then and there but something about Diana made him even more interested.
Diana was a play hard to get woman and loyal to her husband Jacob Miller who they've been married for over five years. Jacob was just a seller at McDonald's and he had been struggling with his finances for years, he dropped out of college to pursue a career as a YouTuber and somehow it flopped hence he found himself jobless while Diana graduated as a lawyer at Harvard University and she had been on payroll ever since she was hired as a law professor at NYU school of law.
Diana paid all the bills at 740 Park Ave. The subdued limestone facade of 740 Park Avenue, one of the expensive apartments buildings in New York because Jacob couldn't afford living on an apartment in New York and at the same drive a Mercedes Benz but with Diana's salary and earnings made sure to make their life affordable. Diana worked tirelessly in court winning cases and at NYU teaching her students and even she was ranked as the best law teacher of NYU.
But she wanted more - a progressive woman of her taste and kind always wants more. More money, more mortgages and more financial freedom tasks and that's why she went further into creating her own law firm, it was her dream. A dream she's had ever since she was a first year student at Harvard and at that time she knew she was ready.
At 01:05 am Diana was still up in the kitchen with her pajamas on and her working laptop in front of her, she was busy typing a fund proposal and crafting emails to her clients. Jacob was fast asleep, what was going on with Diana always caught him when he was on his own sleeping world. He always felt neglected by Diana's work ethics and he felt like he never belonged on her world, but honestly he never even made an effort to be in her world. To understand her struggles which kept them sane and alive.
At thirty two Diana had achieved what to many may have seem impossible, two jobs making her much money to make a living in New York and sustain not her only but also her husband's needs. Diana's mother Elizabeth lived in Boston and she raised Diana as a single mother after Diana's father was absence all her life. Elizabeth taught her daughter well and she always insisted her that hard work is what will give her what she desires, she taught her nothing comes for free.
The quote nothing comes for free lived in her head and she even made a sticker of it and stamped it on top of her laptop just in case she needed a motivation for working. Jacob was a masculine man with long curly hair who had toned up muscles and an interesting physique and personality, something which attracted Diana to him. He usually works out after work everyday evening at his best friend's gym which wasn't so far from their apartment Avenue. He wasn't that busy and that's why he had so much free time on his plate to focus on his workout routine and always made healthy dinner for his wife. Jacob was addicted with natural teas, vegetables, protein food and cutting on carbs - he once stayed for a year without touching carbs even though he worked at McDonald's which was famous for its fast food delivery.
He appreciated Diana's ability to take care of them both and he tried desperately to show her that he appreciates it, and that he loves her for it. But always the toxic masculinity would overshadow his thoughts and creates insecurities about his position as a man, at their forth year of marriage he became over jealous and insecure of Diana's constant attention to work. He kept complaining how he wasn't given much time as a husband and that their marriage was failing, it was the toughest year for Diana and it even affected her work and she lost two clients cases in a span of two months.
There came a time she had to choose - whether her career or a failing marriage to Jacob who refused to change. But one day when she had made up her mind, she came back home early with intentions of filing for a divorce but she was welcomed with a home cooked dinner, a decorated bedroom and a warm shower prepared by Jacob and a bouquet of flowers with a I'm sorry note attached to them. She smiled and forgot what she planned and that night she let Jacob back on her bed again and the thoughts of divorce vanished.
Ever since that time it had been a year and somehow things changed for the better, Jacob changed a lot from the insecure boy to a supporting husband who understood his wife's work and sacrifice. That's why when he woke up and didn't find her on the bed, he got up and made his way to the kitchen without any piece of cloth on his body - he was completely naked.
Jacob saw Diana stranded on her laptop as usual, he took a look at the clock and it read 01:30. "Hey beautiful..." he said charmingly and walked to her, he embraced her in a hug.
"What are you doing waking up at this hour?" she asked, and then kissed him on his lips.
"What are you doing staying up this late?"
"Finishing up the proposal for the funds, it's way complicated than I thought"
Jacob took a sit beside Diana and he held her hand - he peeped up at her computer trying to understand what she was writing with no luck, he grabbed his attention back to her. He was slightly beard and his hair was longer than the last time Diana paid attention to them.
"Your hair has grown so much" she said touching them "It's time for a big cut"
"I ain't cutting nothing"
"Then you should shave..." said Diana touching his chin and kissed him again.
"You used to shave my beards"
"I promise I will do it this weekend"
Jacob pulled Diana close to him, he leaned in for a kiss and she embraced him. Somehow she craved for the intimacy and to be touched, just anything to make her forget about work and Jacob did just that. He carried her to their room whilst their lips were intertwined and placed her on the bed. They used the silence moment to talk about their troubles and where their marriage was going regarding the conflicts which came on daily basis, but they vowed to face them together - as a team.
Sex was like a bridge which always brought them together - it reminded them of what they have just in case they forgot about it and that was the undeniable love and connection they formed many years ago. Even if they fought the whole day somehow sex brought them together. After a moment passed of them panting and breathing hard, they looked at each other and laughed. "Now let's go back to sleep" said Jacob and Diana laughed again, then like a child she peacefully placed her head on Jacob's chest and held her man close to her heart - they both fell asleep and no proposals were written on that night anymore.
