Chapter 12 - Chapter 10: Mixed Feelings

When Marcus arrived at the Madison Square Garden as Martin predicted it was heavily crowded but the only way to have Marcus not noticed by anyone was if he wore black shades, which Martin carried them and he gave them to her the second the door was opened.

"I'll take it from here Martin"

"Sir?"

"I meant wait for me in the car, I'll be back" said Marcus putting on the shades. Then he took out his phone and dialed Diana's number.

"Sir... I have to be there with you" Martin insisted but Marcus wasn't listening to him. Diana had picked up the phone and his heart lighten up just at her soothing voice which gave him instructions of where they were waiting - when Diana was done she hang up the phone and Martin intervened. "Sir, let me come with you. Please"

"Martin, no one is going to shoot me while I'm watching wrestling matches. And like you said, these shades help to disguise my identity. I will be fine, you will stay here, and that is an order soldier"

"Yes sir"

"Good" said Marcus with a smile then he walked towards the entrace gate and left Martin all alone with other guards who were on other cars.

Diana may have been so excited about meeting with Marcus, and she even bought a ticket for him but now Jared had said a lot of uncomfortable stuff and she was having second thoughts. Also, at first she never thought anything sexual between her and Marcus until Demi and Jared hinted it, then she started to have fantansize about him - I mean why wouldn't she, Marcus was a hot tall rich guy any girl would die to be inside his lean and fit body.

The second Marcus appeared in his all black casual outfit, Diana's heart melt, and she gawked at the person in front of her. She has never seen him in a tshirt and jeans, it's always professional whenever they meet up and Marcus was always in a suit - greyish suit most of the times and she has admited that Marcus looks good in a suit, but today he looked even way better and nailed that casual look. He was smelling good, grinning from ear to ear, his lips were pink and soft - Diana started to imagine how sweet he must taste from all those bubblegums and mint he's been chewing. Damn! He was aromatic in every kind of way.

"Hey..." Marcus's deep voice went straight to Diana's heart and made her shake for a bit. She shrugged it off quickly however and replied "Hey, I bought you a ticket" she said and handed Marcus his ticket. "These are my friends, Jared and Demi"

"Hello, I'm the Jared..." Jared raised his hand to Marcus, and then he expected Marcus to kiss it, Marcus did it and that made Jared jump to his knees while holding his purse. They all laughed at his drama.

Demi went on professionally with a handshake "I'm Demi" she introduced herself.

"I'm Marcus, Marcus Orlando... but most people call me Marcus, or M. Anything that suits you really..." He said trying to act as cool as possible, it was a first date with Diana's friends and he didn't want to mess it up - without knowing Jared had messed up things already.

Diana urged Marcus, Demi and Jared to get inside the arena for the show had commenced and she didn't want to miss any single action. So they passed through the checking point and got inside the arena, it was heavily crowded with over eighty thousand people in attendance - the arena was sold out and some were still outside trying to get in.

Diana and Marcus sat together while Jared and Demi seemed to mind their own businesses. Marcus had never been a fan of fighting because his entire childhood that's all he had to do - fighting and he despised it. The reason why Martin wanted to go inside with Marcus was because he knew fighting usually triggers his episodes and the last thing he wanted was to have Martin overreacting inside the arena with Diana by his side.

But Martin wasn't aware of Marcus's feelings when he was around Diana, and he remained so calm when Diana pressed her arm around his, then she looked at him with a smile as they continued watching the show.

"Would you like a cup of coffee after this?" asked Marcus, he shouldn't have said that, not when she was so occupied with the action. He even said to himself "Fuck! Fuck! I shouldn't have said that..." he thought and started to be scared perhaps that would chase her away.

"Coffee?" Diana asked.

"Yes, what do you think about that?"

"Mmmh. I would prefer a Martini. Shaken, not stirred"

A huge smile escaped Marcus's lips and somehow there was hope. He went on to look on the front with a smile and even Diana noticed that he was happy, however she didn't ask anything until the show was over.

During the whole time, they laughed, screamed whenever the player they were rooting for won the game, drank lots of strawberry juices and just being goofy. Jared and Demi joined in on the fun and it became a group thing - Demi hadn't seen Diana that happy with Jacob, not even a single day. But Marcus was easy to fool around with, and he was full of jokes and energy.

"Oh my goodness! I don't remember the last time I screamed so loud for a thing I don't even give a damn about" said Demi and made her friends laugh, plus she was drunk. "All this, thanks to this handsome young man here. Mr Orlando..."

"Please, just Marcus"

"Okay Marcus... do you wanna put your manhood inside my territory tonight?" she asked trying to touch Marcus's zipper.

Jared gasped with a smile "Damn girl... woooo" he said and pulled her back "Take it easy girl, I'll get you some tonight. But his is off limit"

In the midst of the conversation and having an after party in the parking lot, Diana received a text. "Where are the keys?" it read the message and it was from Jacob. Suddenly Marcus noticed how Diana's mood changed instantly. She went on from being a happy woman who just watched her favorite show and she was ready for the rest of the night activities, to a depressed married wife who may not seem like she wants to get a divorce, but deep down she wants to get a divorce.

"What is it? Are you alright?" asked Marcus.

"It's... it's Jacob. He's back in New York and asking where I kept the keys. I have the keys"

"Oh fuck him!" Demi blarted out "Let him sleep in the streets, like a dog that he is"

"Do it Diana, he doesn't deserve even a reply from you. His loss..." added Jared but it all seemed like there was no convincing Diana about Jacob, and Marcus knew that by the look in her eyes.

Marcus had thoughts "You don't have to be like this, you don't seem happy. This man doesn't make you happy and perhaps he should die for that, I mean look my love... we just had a phenomal night and we were just about to have martinis. Come on Diana, don't text back and don't run to him. Don't leave me..." that's what he wanted to say out loud but he couldn't.

Diana was in dilemma, she was still in love with Jacob and there was no way she was going to leave him outside in the streets as Demi recommended. Then suddenly her phone rang, and it was Jacob.

"Girl please, don't pick up the phone" said Jared, he nearly snatched the phone from Diana but he wasn't successful.

"I just want to hear what he wants to say"

"That he just fucked an upcountry girl and now he feels like a man again? What could you possibly want to hear from him Diana?" Demi was concerned and even though she was drunk, she was still making sense about the situation which somehow Diana failed to recognize.

Diana left the group and took a few steps backwards then she picked up the phone. Demi and Jared were so angry at Diana they didn't even wait until she came back, they left the arena using Demi's Range Rover. Now Marcus was the only one remaining and he felt trapped and sucked into the three best friends drama which he didn't expect it to happen. But then he couldn't stop himself from looking at Diana talking to Jacob and his feelings of envy and jealousy magnified to the extent he could walk to Diana's apartment and shoot Jacob. But he may have been short tempered and in love, but he wasn't stupid either. He knew the right time to attack and it wasn't that time. Diana came back to him ten minutes later and she apologized "I'm sorry Marcus, we can't have martinis tonight. I have to go home, can I call you tomorrow?" she asked.

"Yes, anytime. Goodnight Mrs Miller..." Marcus said with a smile as if his heart wasn't burning with rage and jealousy.

"Goodnight Marcus" Diana gave Marcus a peck, then she went inside her car and drove away. Martin came to pick up Marcus and they left the arena too - it was 1am in the morning.
