Scarlette's indifferent tone made the Marquis burst into laughter as he held his stomach.
Thankfully, there is a barrier that the Marquis placed on it or else, he would be seen as a lunatic who just laughed like there is no tomorrow and the crimson-haired woman just let him be and waited for the young man to calm himself down and that makes Scarlette sighed in annoyance.
After a minute, he calmed down, but he is still trying to hold his laughter and wiped out his teary eyes as he looked at the crimson-haired woman and said; "Ahaha! A companion? You, THE Scarlette Overland has a companion in this mission?! No one would believe that absurd thought when it came from other people's mouth but coming from you? Still unbelievable! Haha!"
Jeffrey said as he continued to laugh while holding his stomach and the crimson-haired woman sighed in annoyance even more.
'He is still annoying as hell…'
Scarlette thought and she just let the man have his way. She waited for another minute to let him calm down and let him laugh all he wanted.

Jeffrey thought as he knew that the crimson-haired woman never took someone whenever she is on a mission, and she prefers to work alone than to team up with party members.

Jeffrey, on the other hand, snapped from his daze and looked at the crimson-haired woman with a perplexed expression on his face when he heard that reasoning and he saw Scarlette's crimson lilac-colored eyes that indicated something, the Marquis could tell that she knew that something is odd about that companion she took in.
"You recognize that person? Who is he?"
He asked her and the crimson-haired woman nodded.
"He used the alias "Ryan Wayne", and he approached me back at the guild when I was looking for a mission. I don't know why that person is here in the first place and I know you might recognize him at first glance so I'm telling you right now that let me handle this, Zenon."
