Chapter 25 - The Essence of the One who Wield the Sword (1)

When Ryan saw this, he wanted to comfort her, but it looks like the crimson-haired woman preferred to do it alone, so he didn't ask questions and give her some space.

"Oh, right! I have gathered some wood that we can use for tonight. Since It's a bit windy and we need some fire for us to heat up for the rest of the night."

Ryan diverts the topic as he didn't want to make the crimson-haired woman feel uncomfortable.

He took the woods that he placed on the other side and placed them at the center as he starts to create a fire as Ryan took some stones from the nearby area.

He starts to scratch the stones to make a fire, but it would take longer since the stones are only creating some sparks, and the fire wouldn't ignite that yet.

At that point, Ryan sighed because he felt like an idiot for doing something as trivial as this and he couldn't even make a fire on his own.

Scarlette, on the other hand, saw what Ryan was doing and she shook off her head as she sighed.

She snapped her fingers, and, in an instant, a crimson magic circle appeared at the top of the woods that made Ryan startled as he looked at Scarlette with wide eyes.

After that, a fire was ignited, and the magic circle from earlier disappears.

However, that's not what Ryan caught his attention for.

He looked back and forth between Scarlette and the wood that ignite a fire and said; "Scarlette, are you a mage?"

He asked as he looked at the crimson-haired woman, but the woman just shrugged off her shoulders as she took some fabrics from her own dimensional pouch and went over at the other side, not far away from Ryan's place.

She laid out those cloth fabrics on the ground that serves as her cover for her bed and the crimson-haired woman didn't bother to look at her companion as she went to sleep.

Ryan, on one hand, had a perplexed expression on his face as he looked at the direction of the crimson-haired woman who just settled on her own and went to sleep without even looking back at him.

Not only that, but Ryan had another thought that appeared through his mind as he recalled the scene from earlier.

'Those are… chantless magic spells, right? Aside from her rumored frightening skills in combat battle, I also heard stories from the other people that Scarlette could wield magic as well, especially chantless magic spells.'

However, at that time, Ryan thought that those were nothing but just rumors because he knew that only high-tier mages are capable of doing that kind of spell.

With that thought, Ryan had an inkling idea about Scarlette's origin based on his observations, but he couldn't conclude anything yet as he wasn't sure himself.

As his original mission is still on the process, Ryan's second clue for finding [that person] his master was looking for, lies within Scarlette Overland and for that, he set aside those trivial thoughts that weren't important on his mission and continued to observe the crimson-haired woman on his own.

Now that everything is settled for tonight, Ryan looked around the forest and it would be a good idea to exercise himself to practice his swords in this hour.

He looked at Scarlette's place where the crimson-haired woman was facing against her back and said; "I'll be on the watch for tonight. Take some rest here."

After he said that, the crimson-haired woman didn't make any movement from where she was, and it seems that Scarlette is now asleep, and Ryan took his sword and walked away from their camp as he ventured to the forest at the middle of the night.

He could only think that Scarlette fell asleep that fast since they were on the road for long hours, and they had departed from the Capital city early in the morning and the crimson-haired woman was exhausted from the long journey and wanted to take some rest for tonight.

That's why he tried to be discreet not to disturb the woman's resting time as he ventured deep into the forest, far away from their camp so that he won't disturb the crimson-haired woman's resting time.

When he thought that he was far away from the camp, he stopped from his tracks as he looked around the area as the winds passed by at the night.

Ryan took a deep breath as he unsheathed his sword and began to train.

He concentrated himself as he unleashed his aura on the sword and made a piercing form and a slashed form at the same time.

He remembered what he learned from his father during his childhood, and he tried to make his new sword form as he put it to the test to see how far he had learned and how his thinking skills would be put on used in the battle.

Each time he made his sword form, the wind follows in every flow that he made and there is an energy that gathered around him as he concentrated in his training.

In each form that he makes, there is a magic that flows every time he swings his sword as he performs another one.

He wants to create something that he would call his own.

Ryan's concentration was too deep that he didn't mind his surroundings, and a bead of sweat drops are continuing to flow out in his body but still, he didn't stop himself from training.

After some time had passed, he stopped training as he stabbed his sword on the ground with heavy breathing.

Sweat drops keep flowing out from his forehead as he wipes them off and puffs in the air.

'It seems like I became rusty for not training that long since I arrived in this land.'

He thought as he breathed heavily and looked up at the night sky and from there, he saw the stars twinkling in the night sky as his mind flowed somewhere else.

It's already been five months since Ryan left the kingdom for the mission that his master ordered him to do and he almost searched the whole Miris Continent and the clues that he managed to find leads him in this land, in Silveria Empire.
