"Tell me, dear Princess, how were the dates?" Prince Kelle asked his younger sister.
"Oh brother, it wasn't a date!" the Princess rolled her eyes.
"Oh? Then what was it?" the Prince smiled with a knowing look.
"It was just a formal talk, nothing more," the Princess said as they walked down the hall, hand in hand.
The royal siblings made sure to greet and smile at the guests as they passed by.
"Okay, as you say. Tell me, how was it? Who did you like more?" the Prince asked.
"None of them were good enough! Master Filen bored my ears out with hs exceedingly boring details of art and whatnot, Lord Derke smelled like he had ambition sewn into his veins while Earl Maneder was the most pompous vampire I have ever seen!"\Princess Divale cringed as she recalled the talk.
"So you didn't like any of them?" Prince Kelle frowned.
"None!" she rolled her eyes.
"But all those you listed were their negative traits, didn't you see anything good in them?" the Prince asked.
"Hm, not actually," the Princess mused.
"But surely, there has been something good in them. Those three weren't just picked randomly, they were the best amongst their peers" the Prince said.
"I don't know, they gave me a headache" Princes Divale sighed.
"Enough about me, what about you?" the Princess's smile sly.
"What do you mean what about me?" the Prince frowned.
"Oh, come on, don't play innocent, don't you have someone you noticed here? Someone special?" the Princess wiggled her eyebrows.
"Divale, don't be silly," the Prince waved her off.
"I'm not being silly, there have to be someone, I mean, there are so many people here and a lot of handsome vampires too,"
"Vampires that are straight," the Prince said.
"You won't know unless you tried" she poked her brother's abdomen.
"If Father hears about this, I will be kicked out, now stop being silly and concentrate on your party," Prince Kelle said.
Princess Divale laughed at her brother's flushed face. She turned her gaze back to the party and looked around the hall, not searching for anything in particular.
Her eyes passed over something and she looked back with a frown. When she saw it, it was like the breath had been knocked off her lungs with force.
She remained in a trance and stopped in her tracks. Her eyes were glued at that particular spot and she was left captivated the more she stared into it.
Something has rendered the Princess speechless.
Amidst the crowd and sea of vampires was a pair of eyes.
Bright honey-colored orbs shining against the ocean of darkness.
Anyone who laid eyes on it could be left enchanted forever as its glossy flicker were like the silent whispers of the devil.
Dangerous yet tempting.
The Princess noticed this pair of eyes and all she wanted to do was to reach out for it.
But it was when she took a step forward that t disappeared.
Like the shadow of the dust.
The Princess looked around for it and then she saw it disappearing off at the end of a hallway.
"I'll be back, brother," She said and went down the hall to follow it.
The Princess rushed after it and pushed past the crowd to get through.
She had to find out what it was so she moved fast with her hands holding her gown and her eyes desperately searching for it.
She stepped out of the hall and walked down the corridor. She saw a flash of shadow at the stairs and followed it.
When she got to the hallway, she frowned when she no one.
~What is going on?~
She thought with a frown.
Although she was still was confused, she walked down the hallway and entered a balcony on the left side.
The cool breeze blew her hair strands as she walked down. A small smile triggered her lips when she saw what lay before her eyes.
"Wow, it's so beautiful up here" she breathed out under her breath.
"Why are you following me?"
She heard a deep, rumbling voice ask from behind and she jerked up with shock.
With widened eyes, she turned around and what she saw in front of her made her gasp out in awe.
Her mouth was wide open.
