Chapter 7 - A Pair Of Blank Minds (The Cafe Pt. 1)

'Isn't that Zane?' David's eye's got widened, 'and what is he doing in front of He-liam Hydro X23?!' she thought in amusement, 'Wait, someone please don't tell me that this car belongs to Zane' David gasped at her thought.

While she was floating with her thoughts, Zane was leaning against his one-of-the-favorite cars, his arms were crossed over his chest. All the time he was smiling at David since he heard those sounds of footsteps her sneakers were making, coming from the Emergency Exit. The garage was pin-drop silenced so he could hear the footsteps more loudly and clearly.

'Why would she come down through the emergency exit?' Zane wondered as he turned to look at the girl. She was wearing a brown leather jacket and was covered with a black cap and face mask.

David started walking towards the cars and stopped a few meters away from him. Zane noticed that her eyes wandered around the massive parking lot, and soon her eyes reached the bottle green car, her gaze was only locked at his car. As only her eyes were visible, he couldn't see her jaws getting apart from her mouth. But he was sure that she was lost in thoughts.

He waved his hand in the air a few times, at the direction of David, to get her attention. "Ms White-haired Wallace! I'm here!"

"Put on seat belts" His husky voice poked David's ears. She quickly took the seat belts and put them on.

She was still in a void world of thoughts. She can't believe that she's currently sitting in a car like He-Liam Hydro, the bottle green version to be exact! After all, this was her dream car. There were only 12 cars manufactured of this model in the world. And she was sitting in one of the 12 cars. The overall price of this car is about 30 million dollars!

As she knew that how badly her mom hates to waste money, especially into luxuries like over-expensive designer cars, David never got the courage to bring up the topic of buying one of the He-Liam Hydros. She has always been thinking of buying her dream car once she had her own company, and she would have to buy it with her own money-

"Ms White-haired Wallace?" Zane's words again brought the young lady to earth.

"Huh?!" She blinked at the guy beside her twice in shock. And slowly turned to him.

"Mr Brown-haired Sinclair, Can you please not call me that?"

Zane's lip formed into a tight line. He-is-trying-to-stop-his-laughter is written all over his symmetrical, perfect face.

"Okay then, what should I call you?" He could not help it but chuckle a little at David's response while stirring the stirring wheel.

"Anything you want but not that," she replied crossed her hands chest, "David will go fine." Her gazes dropped at the young man beside her, whose eyes were fixed on the wind-shield, and was driving the car.

"Okay David, as I was saying. About what happened in the dorm earlier,"

"…"

Zane let out an awkward sigh, "Um… I didn't mean to do that… I just-"

"Wanted to be more comfortable with me, I understand." Without letting him finish his sentence, she cut him off and answered the rest of his sentence. He was quite amused by David's guess.

"Well, you got right….but I still didn't mean to pin you against the bed like that…" his voice told David that Zane is genuinely feeling bad for his action, "I just couldn't help it…" he murmured soundlessly, which sounded nothing but a soft gibberish to the young lady.

To be honest, if it was other man, they would have already be chilling inside a cell, for a least punishment she would have reported the man to the manager. But she completely knows why Zane did that, and of course he was no OTHER man to her. It was her childhood best friend, Zane, who pinned her against the bed to break the unbreakable ice between them. And it really worked! At least they are quite comfortable around each other now.

"No problem Zane." David paused. And his eyes widened in amusement. Somehow hearing his name from her hit him very differently. He turned his head left to look at the girl.

"Let's just pretend that nothing happened inside the dorm today." She looked outside of the window after finishing her sentence.

After hearing David's response, somehow Zane felt relief. He turned to face the wind-shield with a small, unnoticeable smile on his face.

"Two Americanos please," Zane ordered while his eyes are wandering around the menu. The waitress was standing right in front of their 2-person-table, writing the food orders on a small yellow notepad.

"Also, please add the raspberry chocolate macrons for us too…" David said in a bold voice while reading the menu. She was sitting in the opposite chair. And the waitress quickly noted what she ordered.

It seems like both of them know each other for a long time and were ordering their favorite coffee and dessert without none of them asking what each of them wants, not even once. Both of them seemed very confident about their choice of food.

"…" When David got back into her senses. Her eyes widened, and was very surprised to see that Zane has already ordered her favorite coffee, Americano.

The thing was exactly same for Zane; It amazed him to see her order his favorite dessert, macaron, and even the flavor of the macaron was accurate, raspberry chocolate. He looked deep into her eyes, trying to find an answer to his question. Is this just a co-incidence?

As for David, her gaze also fell on the pair of emerald eyes. When their gazes met each other, both of them looked away at once.

"Would you like to add more food on the list? Or Should I just bring these, Sir? Ma'am?" The waitress looked at both of them, waiting for a response.

"Yes, that's all." The waitress was quite shocked to see the duo reply in unison.

After they realized they had responded to the waitress in unison, both of them looked at each other in surprise.

"Oh, Alright then Ma'am and Sir." The waitress gave the duo a pleasant smile and turned back to walk away until…

"No, wait!" Again, both of them called out to the waitress in unison.

"Yes sir? Ma'am?" The waitress again turned her body to face the duo, who was seated a few meters away from her. Her face held a smug smile, suppressing her laughter.

"Oh nothing, sorry." This time Zane was silent until only David's voice can be heard.

"Okay, Ma'am." The waitress smiled again and walked away. Leaving the two souls at the table, no. 03, whose mind was still blank of what was happening.
