The giants now died in more number. But that wasn't enough.
A roar came from above. We all turned our heads up. It was Drakolleus, showing off a royal pose. The dragon flew up with his tail zigzagging through the sky. That was the first time, Amanda, Oliver and I had met the dragon in person. Drakolleus had scary fangs and claws with huge wings to help him fly high up. His legs seemed like they would spill out the blood from inside. The dragon's bulky body was nothing like Colloseus and somewhere inside me, I thought that we should have got this dragon on our side.
The dragon's nostrils breathed fire with smoke burning out a bit. It was enough to make people freak out but the giant army didn't help either. They too attacked with bravery and I lost a bit of my courage. Even if we somehow managed to defeat all giants, we had a dragon and Raptor to fight. Colloseus promised to help but his brother looked too intimidating to assure us our victory.
Moreover, Colloseus was nowhere around. We didn't take down his phone number to call him either. So our chances of winning seemed possible but tough. All fought with might and the giants soon were roundly defeated. Reinforcements didn't seem to stop though which wasn't good. Wade looked at me and shouted, "You guys need to get up there before midnight. It is a two hours walk straight from here. My army and I have got your back. Go and fight Raptor!"
I looked around for assurance. Everyone nodded in agreement. I knew that was the only right thing to do now. Fighting the giant army non-stop would give us absolutely nothing if we couldn't reach to the top and stop Raptor from awakening the King. The DELTAs were supposed to finish all this and that was exactly what we would do.
We marched through the steep area as Wade and his army gathered around the giants, making sure that no attention was given to us escaping. They fired with bravery and I appreciated Wade's confidence. After Rock Flames's death, Wade had been working hard to get everything set up again and he wanted to kill the giants. His eyes showed the rage and revenge he was looking for.
I ran quickly though my lungs didn't support me much. I was soon out of breath. The war with the giants hadn't proved to be good for me. My stamina had almost depleted and I needed rest. But there was no more rest available now. We needed to get to the top. All of us worked our way up.
Wade's calculations were correct. We reached the top in about two hours. It was 11:13 pm of the night now and the Night of Xorains was soon going to begin. It wouldn't take much time to be 12:00 now.
I did not expect the top to be this big. There were a lot of giants present there, staring at us. The fire-breathing dragon in the air glared at us and in the middle stood our good old enemy, Raptor in his normal form.
