The adrenal rushed through my blood. Only one thing could settle this. Revenge!
I grabbed Magnum tight and turned back to Raptor. He again showed off his ugly fangs which I was tempted to break on the spot. The others stood up except for Amanda. "The beast only had one boon with him. Now we can kill him. Avenge Lily's death!" She roared.
We grabbed our weapons and walked forward. Raptor turned his head above and yelled, "Drakolleus, enough of fooling around! Come down here and awaken the king." The dragon rushed to the ground followed by his brother who strained to stop him. But Colloseus was unable to withstand the dragon's power. He was thrown to the ground, unconscious. Drakolleus landed, shaking the ground. The dragon roared and fire rushed out of his mouth.
But none of us looked afraid anymore. All we knew now was to avenge Lily's death. All of us charged together. Mark, Xavier and I ran to the dragon. Oliver fought Raptor with Amanda right behind him. That's when I understood that fighting a dragon was a bad choice. The dragon acted like a mad bull, restless to trample us. We dodged and Mark climbed the Drakolleus foot. Pretty brave considering the fire-breathing dragon was about to launch his flame machine.
Drakolleus spat fire on Mark but luckily, I too made my way up to his toes. I threw Magnum towards Mark which magically stopped right in front of him and transformed into a shield. The fire was deflected but when I teleported the battle-axe back to my hand, dang it burned! Magnum was fully on fire and I had to control myself from screaming in such a situation. I wondered if I could learn some kind of fire-proof magic.
Xavier tried to use Trance as a spear and shot it on the dragon's face but of course, nothing happened. I slowly climbed the dragon, just like I would climb a mountain. Mark too used Quester to progress above. We had to keep dodging the continuous fire torture given by Drakolleus.
I finally reached the dragon's back. Drakolleus tried to scratch me off but I slashed Magnum directly on his spinal cord (if dragons even have a spinal cord). Mark shot Drakolleus and the dragon finally started feeling the intensity. He stepped back a bit, trying to balance himself. Also, his fire was now of no use as we were already on his body, almost close to his fangs.
From up there, I saw the battle going on between Raptor and the other two DELTAs. Raptor had changed forms once again. He was now in his ultimate transformation, his Beast Form. Oliver and Amanda seemed to have a hard time and I knew that they needed help. But we too had a problem on us.
Irritated, the dragon growled and flew up in the air. The speed at which he flew was tremendous and we could barely stick to him now. Xavier, Mark and I grabbed the dragon's fur which was the only thing saving us from falling to our deaths. Xavier grabbed his spear from the dragon's right ear and pierced the Drakolleus's shoulder.
I watched down below where Oliver and Amanda were fighting the beast. Raptor had materialized a huge javelin with him which he used to attack them. I lost concentration and before I could hear Mark yelling me to brace myself, Drakolleus turned upside down. I lost my grip and went flying down. I wanted to scream in panic but then I remembered the truth. Sometimes, anger cannot help, nor can panic. You need a peace of mind to work things out.
I used my Zantai power and tried to focus on having a soft landing. Along with that, I used Magnum's power too. I started glowing along with my battle-axe and before I knew it, I was standing in the air, almost floating. I didn't think about many things. I concentrated and my eyes turned blood red. I gave Raptor a piercing look. He was about to claw Oliver when I flew – yes, I flew – to attack him. I thrust Magnum on his chest and the monster fell back in pain. I met Mark's gaze in the sky and he knew what to do next. He grabbed Xavier and used his grappling hook to get to somewhere safe. They landed on the closest hill and now, Drakolleus was all alone. I threw Magnum and I felt like a shot-put champion. The battle-axe travelled to the mad dragon and slashed through his stomach. The dragon in pain and felled to the ground, only a few meters from his injured brother. Colloseus seemed helpless. He had done a great job keeping Drakolleus at bay but he too was hurt and could barely get up.
I turned my attention to Raptor who had regained strength and was fighting my friends. Raptor roared. "Your friends there died before I could even use her. Someone must die for Drakolleus to perform the awakening ceremony." Raptor declared. "Yeah, as if we will kill ourselves for you!" Mark muttered.
Raptor laughed, "No need for that. I already have it set up!" He looked below the mountain and smiled. "There she comes." He said. I was eager to know who it was.
With a few giants surrounding her, came my grandmother. Seriously?!
