Why did it have to be another Xorain? Was it to torture and remind me that I was one too?
Kifler, the old man claimed to be one of King Jalaar's soldier. What the heck was he doing here, giving information to people who were supposed to be his enemy? We backed off a bit, our hands to our weapons. But Kifler raised his hands. "No need to worry. I am not your enemy. Well, I am but I never was on the side of the King." Kifler's voice was truthful and I knew someone wouldn't make such a joke.
"Why are you giving us this information?" Oliver demanded. Kifler replied, "I was one of the King's soldiers and the only one in the army who believed that what was happening was wrong. Master Rock Flames and I felt the same way that Darknor should be saved. We tried every way to stop this destruction but in vain. And when I heard that King Jalaar tried to kill his son, Zakostroph, I felt that he had reached his limits. I helped Master Rock Flames to reach Nakuta village. He ordered me to flee away somewhere else and I did so, wandering out in the wild until I reached here." The way Kifler said it, I really felt his pain. He did not know that the King's son was the person standing in front of him. I decided that this wasn't the best time to say it.
"At that time, the Great Waterfall had no visitors. The loneliness in the night was scary but I kept going. That's when, in the air I found the dragon Colloseus. It was indescribable. He had announced to me, Failure may sometimes lead to Success. I took that as the job to tell that to everyone who wished to see him." Kifler said. "He never revealed me the way to see him but I always assumed that this was the right way. Only the strongest Xorains attain the power to live for millennia. But the great dragon bestowed upon me the boon to live for thousands of years. Maybe this was the reason I lived so long. I need you DELTAs to get to the dragon so that I get the satisfaction of fulfilling my duty and die peacefully." He finished.
We were left speechless. I looked at the other two and they too had their mouths open. This man had lived so long to tell this assumption to everyone. A stupid part of me said: Are you serious? I would have just left all this and struck a knife in my stomach. At least I would have died faster.
I nodded, promising to give him the nice death he wanted. "What you are doing is a great deed and I am sure you will go to Celeste." I said to the man which made him bewildered. I had totally forgotten that only I knew about this. He ignored the statement and said, "Tell your name, child. Who are you?" He asked. I smiled and replied, "Blaze Hunt. For you, Zakostroph."
Then we left the small hut leaving the old man in awe.
