Chapter 18 - Chapter Eighteen: The chosen one

Jediah

I couldn't believe the content of the poster. Stefan and Tamara were both getting engaged in a months time. I couldn't believe that i fell in love with such a bitch and also loved that conniving bastard of a cousin.

I decided to ignore the poster and continue on my journey.

I finally arrived at the blacksmith workshop. I put down my bad and rolled my sleeves. I took a pair of protective gloves and an overall for safety precautions.

My teacher then gestured me to come forward and then began showing me the know how's of making a sword.

Throughout my encounter, Ethan just kept glaring at me like i did something to him. I couldn't understand why he hated me so much.

"This job is not meant for you, you know right?" Ethan walked towards me wiping the sweat on his forehead.

"What makes you think so huh?" I asked him boldly looking into his eyes.

"We shall see." He just turned around and left.

I decided to ignore him and continued with what i was doing. I drifted in thought of Kim.

oh God, her beautiful eyes and then her hair. I think I'm in love with her. But if i propose to her will she accept me or not. I'm scared of getting my heart broken for the second time.

I think i need to focus.

After the day's work, i said goodbye to my master and co apprentices and left for home.

On my way home, i noticed a little boy being ganged up against. I was wondering why huge men like the one I'm seeing would want to bully a child that is barely five years old. I decided to walk toward them and help the boy.

"Hey! leave him alone." I said putting on a brave front.

"And what if we don't?" A very built man who seems to be their leader asked.

"You will face the consequences." I dropped my bag and charged towards them ready to fight.

They started coming at me with clubs and knives but i avoided all their attacks.

I beat all of them hands down and they all retreated.

I walked towards the little boy who was shivering at a corner.

"Hello little one, what's your name?" I asked stroking his hair making him calm.

"Jo.. JoJo." He stuttered still afraid of what just happened.

"Where's your mommy?" I asked looking around for the boys mother.

"I don't know. I lost her in the crowd." The little boy started crying untill we heard a feminine voice calling out his name.

"JoJo! where are you?"

"Mama over here." The boy waved to his mother. She came rushing like a lightening bolt.

"Oh my...JoJo why?...I'm so sorry i lost you." The woman wept bitterly.

"Thank you kind sir for finding my son. please let me repay you." The woman kept thanking me.

"It nothing. I'm glad you found him."

"I can read palms and if you don't mind I'll like to read yours as a reward for helping me find my son."

"Uhm okay." I agreed even though i don't believe in such.

She took my right hand and started tracing my palm while chanting some gibberish words. After that she looked at me with wide eyes like she discovered something.

"The chosen one. it's really you." She knelt and bowed her head.

"Umm..the what now?" I asked feeling confused.

"Yes you are the reincarnated chosen one." She still insisted.

"Ma'am i have no idea of what you're saying. Have a wonderful day." With that said i left.

Chosen one what freaking chosen one. She must be out of her mind i guess. I ignored everything she said and continued on my journey home.
