Mo Xin Er drove into the hostel's driveway and parked her car at a convenient space for Su Cha to alight. She glanced at Su Cha who was sitting beside her lost in thought.
"We're here."
Su Cha flinched before looking at her and nodded appreciatively before getting out of the car. She bent downwards slightly and said, "Thank you, Ms. Mo."
Mo Xin Er shook her head and watched her turn away from the car before walking towards the hostel. It was only after she saw her walk in, did she veer the car out of the driveway.
She drove towards her own hostel, her hand reaching out to tune the music box. The car sped into the driveway and after she parked, Mo Xin Er leaned on the headboard and shut her eyes. She seemed to be in an hibernation mode.
Mo Xin Er jolted when someone playfully hit her car as they talked. She sighed- she must have zoned out again. She pulled out the car key and got out of the car. She hadn't been looking up earlier but when she did, her gaze turned cold and her lips pressed into a thin line.
She watched him pace in front of the hostel earning curious glances. The security guard seemed to be on the verge of telling him to leave but changed his mind. He was probably considering his identity or seemed to think he wouldn't do anything bad.
She shook her head in distaste and pretended to be oblivious of him standing there. She walked past him unnoticed until she suddenly heard him call her name. She snorted but didn't stop walking.
Mo Xin Er heard a hurried shuffle behind her and felt a man's hold on her wrist. The light in her gaze fully disappeared as she twisted his hand making him wince in pain. She turned to look at him and was shocked by his appearance.
She didn't fully look at him earlier so she was only noticing his appearance. He looked awful. His hair was in a mess and there were dark eye bags under his eyes. There was hardly any trace of the rich young master any more.
She called out in a cold voice, "Young Master Su, how may I help you."
Su Jing flinched and looked away in embarrassment. He lifted his weight from his right leg to the other before replying her, "Ms. Mo."
"What do you want?" Mo Xin Er asked as she folded her arms and watched him with skeptical eyes.
"I…need to see Liuying."
Mo Xin Er laughed coldly. See Liuying? Dream on!
She sneered, "Liuying doesn't know you. So, why would she want to see a stranger?"
Her words seemed to affect him for he grunted lowly, probably unsure of himself.
Mo Xin Er continued, not giving him a chance to talk. "Also, I do not know you. Don't call my name."
Su Jing took a deep breath and called out, "I need your help."
His voice was strained but serious as he looked at her. He expected her to give at least some sort of reaction but she turned to leave instead.
In a panic, he hurriedly called out, "Please."
Mo Xin Er paused to look at him before saying, "You are not worthy of her, Su Jing."
"I know," he replied surprisingly and hung his head low. "But I don't think I can survive one more day without seeing her. Even if it's just once."
"So, how is that my business?" Mo Xin Er asked, one of her eyebrows raised.
"I need your help to see her. She won't see me willingly."
"Oh. So?"
"I need you to help me lure her out," he said, looking at her with so much expectations in his eyes.
Mo Xin Er lips twitched. Lure? She had the urge to walk towards him and beat him up. Who did he think she was?
Instead she glared at him. "I won't betray my friend over her asshole boyfriend."
She watched as every strength drained out of him and he muttered with slumped shoulders, "I know."
"Good you know,"
Mo Xin Er grunted and walked into the hostel. She could see him still standing there with his head bowed and shoulders slumped in defeat. She shook her head and walked into her apartment ignoring the looks some of the girls were giving her.
She walked into the apartment and looked at Fan Liuying's usual chair. She wasn't there. Did she go somewhere. She was about to walk into her own room when she heard sniffles coming from Fan Liuying's room.
Was she crying again?
Mo Xin Er walked to the door and turned the knob but the door did not budge. She sighed and lifted her knuckles to knock. The sniffles died out immediately and Mo Xin Er could hear shuffling in the background. She lifted her knuckles and knocked again.
Almost immediately, the door opened and Fan Liuying appeared at the door. She gave Mo Xin Er a small, weak smile. But Mo Xin Er refused to smile back as she looked Fan Liuying over.
Fan Liuying looked like a mess as she stood in front if the door, leaning slightly on the door sill. Her eyes were swollen and red again. Mo Xin Er squinted her eyes and rebuked, "Fan Liuying, are you nuts? Why are you crying so hard? Do you want to get sick?"
She grabbed Fan Liuying's wrist and dragged her into the loo. She watched as Fan Liuying watched her face and grabbed a face mask.
"Did you see him?" Fan Liuying asked as they walked back to her bed. Mo Xin Er snatched the mask from her hands and watched as she rubbed a face cream.
"Yeah."
Fan Liuying's hands which was applying the cream on her face halted and trembled before she sighed, picking up her pace again. "What did he say?"
"He wanted me to help him."
"Help him?"
Mo Xin Er let out a snort. "To lure you out so he could talk to you."
"What did you say then?"
"Me?" Mo Xin Er laughed. "I gave him a piece of my mind."
Fan Liuying turned to look at her. "Xin Er. Thank you."
"It's nothing. You should stop crying like this otherwise you'll get sick."
"I know. I won't cry anymore."
