Ugh!
So horrible!
She felt sick.
Mo Xin Er scrunched her nose in obvious distaste as she lifted her face from the sink. Her gaze scanned the mess she had just vomited into the porcelain sink. She patted her face and felt her temperature. It had dropped very low now. It seems the drug was finally working.
She curled her fingers around the tap and turned the screw. Water began to flow into the sink, rinsing off the mess she had just gargled into it. She washed her mouth with a mouth wash and walked out of the loo.
She glanced at the clock and her eyes widened. Eight thirty. The girls must be here already.
As if to confirm her thoughts, she could hear a loud noise in the living room followed by Fan Liuying's beaming face popping in the space between the door.
She beamed. "Xin Er, they are here."
Mo Xin Er nodded with a smile and watched as she closed the door. She shook her head at Fan Liuying's antics before making her way to the closet, pulling out a black woolen Cardigan and shorts. She put them on and grabbed her phone before stepping out of the room.
A particular red haired lady caught her attention the very moment she walked out. She was sitting on the sofa facing her bedroom. The girl sat in the sofa in a relaxed posture with a hand strewn on the arm.
It was probably the creaking of the door that caught their attention for they all turned towards her immediately she shut the door. She gave them a small smile and took a seat beside Fan Liuying.
When Fan Liuying saw her sit, she smiled brightly. "Hi everyone. Thank you for coming. This is my roommate, Xin Er."
One of the girls with a black bob hair replied, "Hi. I'm Su Tang."
"Mo Xin Er," Mo Xin Er answered, stretching her hand out for a shake. The introduction went on and she found out that the girl with the red hair was called Yun Nian.
They soon scrambled in front of a mini television Fan Liuying set up. Fan Liuying disappeared into the kitchen and soon returned with bowls of Spanish crackers and coke.
Mo Xin Er was about to grab her share when the red haired girl, Yun Nian suddenly gasped before pointing a finger at her. She said excitedly, "It's you."
"Me?" Mo Xin Er asked in surprise as she pointed to herself. "What do you mean?"
Yun Nian continued with undeterred vigor, "You're the one who beat those boys up at the science faculty."
Mo Xin Er's tensed shoulders finally relaxed as she leaned on the sofa disinterestedly. "Oh."
One of the other girls piped in, "I saw it with my own eyes. You were so cool."
"I heard those boys were thugs."
Fan Liuying raised an eyebrow and gave Mo Xin Er an accusatory glance. "You did what?"
"Oh, you didn't know," Su Tang replied as she pulled out her phone from her pocket and scrolled on it for a few times before handing it over to Fan Liuying.
Mo Xin Er watched as they all scrambled together to watch the video. She bent her head and took a sip from the coke. It seemed the had finally watched it to the end for they all turned to her with heated gazes.
Mo Xin Er panicked, "We should start watching our movie. It's about to start."
They all chuckled and took their respective seats without continuing the conversation. The movie began and by the time it ended, Mo Xin Er glanced around and shook her head seeing that they had all dozed off.
They seemed to be comfortable in their positions, so, she left them in the living room. She laid on the bed, her eyes wide open as she thought about that night.
The Vipers? They had better be prepared for she wouldn't let them go so easily.
.
..
…
Mo Xin Er rubbed her eyes groggily as she walked down the school hallway towards her car. She had just received an intel regarding Su Cha so she would be bailing on her project with Lu Yichen. She concluded that she would give him a call later and apologize.
She swung open the car door and lowered herself into it after placing her bag in the passenger seat. She pulled out of the parking lot and turned in the GPS as she drove. Apparently, Su Cha would be meeting an old friend today in a teahouse. She planned to use the opportunity to her own benefit. She knew Su Cha will not open up to her if she approached her directly without a plan
She soon found the teahouse and pulled into the parking lot. Putting on a face cap, she stepped out of the car and walked into the teahouse. With practiced steps, she took a seat like every other customer and picked the menu on the table. She could see one of the waiters approaching her with a professional smile on his lips.
"What can I get for you, miss?" he said, bowing respectfully.
She lifted her head towards him her face hidden behind the black cap. "I'll have a two layer espresso."
He gave her a small smile and left, returning with her order. He placed it gently on the table and said, "Have a good time."
She gave a small nod as he left taking a sip out of it. Her finger lingered on the handle of the mug thoughtfully as she placed it back on the table. She eyed the contents of the mug warily.
It tasted… familiar.
She was sure she had never come here. But the smell and how it tasted felt very homely like she had been drinking it all her life. It couldn't be that espresso tasted the same in every restaurant. There had to be a slight difference.
As if instinctually, she lifted her head and she could see a girl and a boy walk into the teahouse and take their seats. Mo Xin Er smirked. Her suspicion about the tea could wait for another time.
