About an hour later, Mo Xin Er sat in front of Fan Liuying's desktop, her gaming console in hand. She put on her headphones and plugged in a mouse. The interface flipped and a game cover covered the screen. An EDM music flowed into her ears through the earphones matching the current interface.
She wondered, 'It's been a while since I played Villain's Abode. Who knows, there might be a good competitor this time.'
She typed in her user ID and password before leaning back and clicked enter.
A string of words that read, 'WELCOME BACK TO WSR A, PHANTOM' appeared on the screen.
She was about to place her hand on the mouse when strings of messages exploded on the screen.
Big Nick: Eh… Phantom is online.
TsoRukshi: NEWS FLASH! The King is online. King is online.
Player#25: You guys should come online. Phantom is online.
Big Nick: It seems there will be lots of dead bodies in today's war *grins*
She grinned and outstretched her slender fingers on the keyboard before typing out, "Hey, buddies. It's been a long time. I plan on seizing Asura Towers WSR 2 tonight. Who wants to join me in the massacre?"
A minute hadn't even passed when strings of notifications of messages filled her ears. She clicked on the notifications and rested her chin on her knuckles as she read the messages.
DaoistMaster95: I'm in. Incoming with laser cannon.
Player#25: Badass general, this loyal soldier is here at your wish.
Immortal Yuri: Those Vanguard villains have been so proud these days. General, you have to stick up for me.
Mo Xin Er laughed, feeling relaxed before switching on the voice changer.
She typed, "Time to loot the fortress. Soldiers, convey at Hell coven WSR 1 in ten minutes." Her fingers danced nimbly on the keyboard, switching the general message interface and a different scene appeared.
On the screen, a miniature version of her stood in a thick forest. It donned a silver armor on a pair of black attire. Two ninja swords hung at her back reflecting the fierceness of the person. A silver halo danced on her head emboldening two words: VIP 5. A green bar stood beneath her legs filled to the brim with the words 100 HP on the left side above the bar.
Mo Xin Er zoomed out and the screen showed a much clearer version of the forest. She could see a couple of players also appearing on different parts of the forests. She watched as they made their way towards her.
Her eyes made a quick scan over their HPs and she was immediately satisfied with what she saw. She clicked on the tab that showed enable voice and called out, "Hello everyone. I'll be needing 7 players. So, I'll be picking out according to HP level and VIP level." Due to the voice changer being used, her voice sounded more manly and hoarse. There was no fluctuations between her words, evidently showing that it wasn't the first time she was using it.
She eyed the IDs scattered across the screen before typing, "JeanCarper#65"
"Big Nick"
"Flying Lotus"
"Baby_xi."
"Iyumi91"
"Immortal Yuri."
"Player19," she read out as she typed and watched as their IDs converged around hers. She scrolled the mouse, eyes fixated on the screen as it switched again, now showing eight avatars standing in the forest. Some held their weapons in hand but most hadn't unsheathed theirs.
With satisfaction, she began, "I've played with Big Nick and Immortal Yuri before. Your pattern is passive. So, you two will be on the defense. You will take cover amongst the enemy till there is a chance to strike. If possible, retrieve the flag. Iyumi91 and JeanCarper#65 will be the midfielders. Flying Lotus will be in charge of refilling our HP bar. The rest will take the strike with me." She paused for a moment before saying, "Is that okay with everyone?"
Voices of consent rang into her ears and she nodded, forgetting that they couldn't see her before continuing. "The Asura Tower is one of the most protected and strongest fort. It has a higher advantage over us in terms of players since they will be on the defense. Most of their vanguards are knights are VIP 5 players. It won't be that hard for them to get rid of us if we don't play with a different technique. So, no rush. We will chew them out from their lowest force defense. The attic. They won't be expecting such approach if we're quick enough, we should be able to annex half of the tower in thirty minutes –"
She was about to go on, when a deep voice resonated in her ears. "However, no matter how quick you can crush the enemy, there is a limit to the strength eight players can have. I'm sure you know that too." Her brows slowly tightened into a knot – that voice sounded awfully familiar. She had no idea where she had heard it but she was sure she had heard it before.
As she glanced at his ID, she suddenly felt that his words made a lot of sense. There was no way they could strike head on considering the player limit they had. But she knew it wasn't entirely impossible. She had played such a tough challenge before and she was successful in seizing the tower.
She said, "Do you think there is a better approach?"
"There is. But, there will be no one to help refill us. We can get easier access by luring them out of their abodes. Naturally, if there is a war, the first instinct is to protect the gates. However, if we go by a different method and attack the two blind spots of the tower, it will be easier to force them out to fight," he explained and she couldn't help but feel confident after hearing his words. He seemed to be a pro. If he led the battle, there was a higher possibility that they will win.
"Will you like to lead the raid?" She inquired.
He laughed before saying no. She had no problems with his decision.
She continued, "That agreed. So, are we all ready?" A barrage of consent came afterwards as she glanced at her wristwatch.
She thought, 'Not bad. Took less than three minutes.'
