Mo Xin Er woke up a few hours later, she could hear Fan Liuying talking to someone in the other room. Ignoring the slight headache that seemed to be taking over her whole head, she scrambled out of bed, her phone falling on its face onto the cold floor. Letting out a few curses, she bent down slightly and grabbed the phone from the floor. It wasn't broken; just a little scratches here and there. Her legs wobbled as she made her way to the door, turning the knob and slid out of the room.
She had barely made it out when her head suddenly felt heavy, her legs trembling and she hurriedly grabbed hold of the door knob to steady herself. At that moment, Fan Liuying's room door opened and Fan Liuying stepped out, beaming slightly.
When she saw Mo Xin Er who looked weary and on the verge of collapsing, the smile stiffened on her face. Nearly tripping, she rushed over to her, gripping her by the shoulders. Worry encased her face as she helped her to one of the sofa.
Mo Xin Er leaned weakly into the sofa and shut her eyes. She could feel Fan Liuying's presence but couldn't comprehend what she was saying to her. She tried to force her eyelids open to look at Fan Liuying but her head immediately felt heavy again and she had begun to see five Fan Liuying staring at her.
"Xin Er… Xin Er, are you okay?" Fan Liuying called out in panic. "Should we go to the hospital?"
Mo Xin Er didn't hear much and only caught on to the word 'hospital'. Her eyelashes trembled. She wanted to object but was unable to bring herself to talk.
She could hear Fan Liuying pacing around the room. She seemed to be talking to someone on phone. She could feel herself becoming more lightheaded by the moment and every word she heard felt like the buzzing of flies in her ear.
She wanted to talk; say something to Fan Liuying. Reassure her that she would be fine. But she suddenly felt as if she was being pulled and the next moment, she couldn't feel anything anymore and blacked out.
.
..
...
When Mo Xin Er woke up later, she could feel that the tension in her body from earlier was gone. There was a distinct smell in the air.
Ugh… horrible!
It smelled like an hospital. Disinfectant?
She could feel someone's palms enveloping hers. Judging from the touch, it was a woman's. Fan Liuying, maybe.
She grunted and opened her eyes. What met her gaze was the white ceilings overhead. Her gaze lingered on it for a few seconds before she turned her head slightly. Unexpectedly, she couldn't feel any more pain. Fan Liuying was sitting beside her with her head drooped downwards as she held her palms.
Fan Liuying seemed to have felt her stirring because she whipped her head up almost immediately. Her face seemed relieved and her eyes brightened as she called out, "You are awake, Xin Er."
"Hm."
Mo Xin Er hummed in reply as she struggled to get up. Fan Liuying hurriedly grabbed her elbow and helped her sit up.
"Have some water first," Fan Liuying offered as she poured a glass of water for her and handed it to her. Mo Xin Er's eyes gleamed in appreciation as she lapped on it.
She watched as Fan Liuying returned the empty glass to the bedside table before asking calmly, "How long was I out?"
"One day and a half."
"What?" Mo Xin Er gasped.
Fan Liuying smiled, sitting up and explained, "The doctor said that it wasn't major. You were tired out."
"Tired out?"
Mo Xin Er asked with a frown.
"Yeah. It seem you didn't have enough rest. Also, he said you have been doing a lot of exercises in the past, so, your body was unable to adjust to the lack of exercises. So, it shut itself down. You'll be fine, though. He Al's prescribed a few drugs for you."
Mo Xin Er nodded. It was understandable since she had barely had any exercises in the last one month.
She asked, "So, I can leave now?"
Fan Liuying nodded as she helped her up from the hospital bed. She felt Fan Liuying's hand slid down her elbow and held her wrist making her flinch in pain.
She eyed her hand and saw a needle like injury at the spot that hurts.
She turned to Fan Liuying. "A drip?"
"Yeah. You took two."
"Whoa," she exclaimed. "I must have really gone out completely."
They walked out of the hospital ward and Mo Xin Er waited as Fan Liuying handled the discharge procedure. She slid into the passenger seat of Fan Liuying's car and shut her eyes as the car began to move. They soon arrived in the driveway of the hostel and they both alighted the car.
They made their way towards their apartment with Fan Liuying holding her by the shoulders to help her walk. The moment they got into the living room, Mo Xin Er slumped into the sofa. She watched as Fan Liuying made her way to the kitchen and returned with a mug of green tea.
Mo Xin Er was about to drink from the cup when a knock on the door caught their attention. The two girl exchanged a look and she watched as Fan Liuying got up making her way to the door.
She twisted the door knob and the door slid open. Mo Xin Er was confused when she turned to look at her before turning her gaze to the door.
Fan Liuying turned to look at the person at the door with a frown before asking in a cold voice, "Who are you?"
Mo Xin Er couldn't hear what the other person said but the voice sounded a little familiar…
She saw Fan Liuying nodded before the door opened completely and the person stepped in.
And it was just as she thought…
