As I waited outside the elevator door I heard footsteps coming towards me and they became louder and louder until they stopped and the hallway became silent again.
" Ellie ?! ", a strong male voice called behind me. As this familiar voice echoed down the hallway towards me, I completely froze in place. I couldn't turn around, I didn't want to turn around as I didn't want to face him nor talk to him and this d-mn elevator hasn't arrived yet.
" I haven't heard from you for so long now. It's so good to see here. How are you doing ?", Adam, Ellie's father asked with an enthusiastic voice.
Is he serious right now ? Trying to do small talk with me. I gathered the little courage I had in me to turn around and face him.
" Good morning Adam ! ", Ellie replied coldly, showing no emotion on her face.
" So, we are calling each other by our first name now, uh ? ", Adam scoffed.
