When Jason collapsed on the sand from exhaustion, he was breathing very heavily and staring at the twin moons in the night sky.
"Am I really in a new world? This is insane, and why am I in so much pain I mean I can understand why my hands are bloody but?" Jason tried to remember why he was in so much pain when a new flood of memories assaulted his mind.
"Arghhh!?!? What the hell is happening, what are these feelings, and why is there this fury like anger." Jason grunted and started to shake with muscle spasms that made his body hurt even worse. "Jesus, what the hell did he go through, why, why did they do this? All because I was different!! This is such bullshit, all because I'm different, well, before I even start to do anything I need to change my current situation. So I'm no longer Jason, but Polemos, well at least it's not Michael."
Polemos chuckled weakly as he tried to move his beaten and bloodied self. As he tried to lift his body he noticed that he was barely able to even put any strength to lift himself up. So as the next best thing, Polemos decided to crawl slowly to what looked like a 'tent' as it was the only thing that looked like a shelter. As Polemos, was slowly crawling through the cold grainy sand he was also trying to look through his body's previous memories and life.
'Jeez, it looks like I went through the freakin ringer apparently, I'm quite amazed that he was able to even take all of that. If this happened in my original world, this would definitely not fly….maybe.'
Polemos was slowly getting closer and closer to what he realized was actually his home, again if you could even consider it a home. The tent had holes in multiple spots and even had patches all over too and some looked recent.
"Well at least it's better then nothing I guess." Polemos said weakly as he got closer and closer.
'Well, if what that bastard Alyan said is true then no one will miss me if I don't show up to contribute or work, since they'll think I'm dead or just suddenly faded to ash.'
Polemos thought as he finally reached the entrance of his tent, when he saw the inside of the tent he was only able to see that it was only big enough for a bed, a small carpet that barely covered the floor. There was a fire in the middle that looked like it had been out for days, showing that Polemos hadn't eaten a good meal for a while.
"Damn, I'm gonna really have to change this, this is nowhere near enough to even feel secure." Said Polemos, as he finally was able to pull himself inside the tent and found a comfortable spot on the floor to sleep and start anew in the morning, if he even was able to wake.
'If and when I wake, I need to try and steal some food, and maybe a map so I can figure out where the closest settlement or tribe is.'
Polemos thought before he slowly lost consciousness and faded to the land of dreams as the night slowly drifted. When Polemos woke he had no idea how many days had gone by as he slowly but surely grunted himself to a seated position.
"Gods I need to remember to at least sleep on the bed next time, sand is definitely not the most comfortable thing to sleep on." Polemos exclaimed as he finally opened his tired and heavy eyes, and started to really get a better look inside his tent.
'Well it looks like I did miss a couple things when I crawled in.' Polemos thought when he noticed a desk, and a small chest near the bed that had a journal on top.
As Polemos slowly tried to stand and then slowly walked to the desk to read the journal. When he opened the journal and noticed that it was in a language that he didn't recognize but was somehow able to read and understand, it baffled him a bit?
"I'm clearly not an original of this world and yet I'm able to read, understand, and hell I can speak the language apparently, I wonder if I am able to write it also?" Questioned Polemos to himself as he started to read the journal. As he was going through the journal and was taking in the new information he was sad, angry, sorrowful, shocked, and completely heartbroken. From what the journal had written inside, it talked about everything Polemos had gone through til he died and his struggle with his everyday life.
But, when Polemos got to the part that talked about Mana, he was given an even bigger shock as he felt his head would just stop working or his heart would just stop also.
"Are, are you kidding me, Mana exists here, this, this is amazing! Ha, haha, hahahahaha, I can actually do what those MCs could do in the stories I read, this is awesome." Polemos exclaimed as he continued to laugh until he got to the part in the journal about his current Mana stage.
"Wait, I'm only at the Apprentice Acolyte third stage, well damn. Wait, is this bad, crap I don't know, there isn't anything in here that talks about the stages of Mana training, only that it goes up to the ninth stage and that's about it." Polemos pondered as he sat on the edge of his bed.
"Well it looks like besides getting food I need to figure out this world's power structure or hierarchy I guess? And when I get enough strength I'll need to come back and deal with Alyan and his group." Polemos swore, and when he made that statement he felt something refreshing flow through his mind and heart.
"What the. Yeah don't worry I'll make sure they get what's coming to them especially Alyan. His followers will be dealt with quickly but suffer, while he'll wish for death to embrace him." Polemos swore again as he looked at the dried blood that covered his hands.
"Well first I need to clean myself off. I'm literally covered in sand and blood. If anyone saw me I would be embracing that darkness again and I'll do everything in my power to not let that happen again."
Polemos rose to his feet and slowly went to the entrance of his tent, when he opened the flap and looked outside he was greeted by a sea of golden sand and a deep blue sky.
"Wow it's actually kinda beautiful."
Polemos was impressed by the beauty in front of him as he tried to look for a source of water. Luckily there was one that wasn't too far from his tent and it looked like no one was around. He even made sure to look and see if the tribe had moved from its original spot which it looked like it hadn't yet.
'From what was written in my journal, they just settled here and it looks like they don't move that often when they are able to find a source of water. Well if it was an oasis then that would be a different story altogether.' Polemos thought as he walked to the source of water to clean himself off.
'I wish I knew a water skill, the only thing it looks like I was able to do is control and wield regular mana, I don't even have a common technique or skill. How was he able to even reach the third stage, was it just trial and error, well that also needs to change.' Polemos smiled as he thought.
Although Jason was thrown into this new world, how could he stop himself from feeling a sort of happiness that he had never felt before.
"Even though I had a rough start, I can't help but get a little excited. I mean this world has so many new and exciting things to experience and offer. I wonder what I'll be able to do and make sure to keep my promise before the reincarnation. I can't wait." Polemos grinned while showing his teeth as he finally reached the source of water.
Polemos quickly stripped himself and jumped into the water which in hindsight was not a good idea considering that the water is pretty cold.
"Damn, holy crap this is so cold why, why didn't I test it first? Oh well I'm already in the water might as well just get myself cleaned." Polemos said as goosebumps formed all over his body and as he scrubbed and washed himself clean.
As he was exiting the water and was putting on his clothes he happened to catch a glimpse of his face.
When he saw his reflection on the surface of the water he was slightly shocked by what he saw. Polemos noticed he had a set of deep royal purple eyes, long flowing abyss black hair, sharp eyebrows, and a face that could make one take another glance.
"Was it really because I was an outsider or was it just because Alyan was jealous, Gods I look better then I did in my last life."
Polemos slowly shook his head as he finally finished putting his clothes on and headed back to his tent to come up with a plan to start his new life and live his life to the fullest and to explore what amazing things this world had to offer.
