Chapter 15 - Finally Gets To Speak To Her

Kol felt that since it was his first time meeting some of the members of the crew, he had to put in is best. What he cared about the most was her perception of him.

He went ahead to express his gratitude for their efforts so far and also he was introduced to the other members of the crew he hadn't met yet, including Rebecca. That was the opportunity he was waiting for, he wanted to know her personally but didn't know how to go about it.

'thank you so much Mr McClain, your presence today was a privilege. Thank you for taking out time from your busy schedule to come see how we're doing here' director Donald said with a bow, Kol only nodded.

he signalled to David who was standing not far from where they were and he knew it was almost time to leave. He got up from his seat and walked towards the exit effortlessly, his heart was filled with gladness because he got what he came for. At least he knows she works there, and as a screenwriter. That made him love her even more.

As he headed for the exit with Tiffany walking beside him, he heard someone call his name. It was the most beautiful and the most enchanting voice he had ever heard, it was like the voice of an angel, so soft and melodious.

'Mr McClain, please can I have a moment with you?' Rebecca called. She didn't know how she got the courage to do that, but she did anyway.

Kol immediately halted and turned facing the direction of the voice. She walked towards him cautiously fully aware that he was staring at her.

'Mr McClain. I...' she was going to say when Kol signalled to David and Tiffany to give him a moment and they walked ahead of him.

'Mr McClain, I never really got the opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for what you did for me the other day.' she said, Kol just kept staring at her, without inching a bit. It was like he was attempting to captivate her with his gaze

'from the bottom of my heart, I want to say thank you so much. Your kind gesture is sincerely appreciated.' she added maintaining eye contact with him. Now she had the chance to admire his facial features at a really close proximity.

He had the perfect face any man could have, with his masculine jawline, thick lashes and torquise blue eyes. His exquisite appearance and born elegance attracted her.

Kol stared at her, he couldn't stop staring. he was enchanted and he didn't seem to want to get out of it. He gazed at her hazel eyes and he was lost in them.

Then the way she spoke captured his heart. he wasn't expecting her to approach him, talk more of expressing gratitude.

'hmmmn! good sign' he thought to himself. With that little action of hers, she has been able to improve his perception of her unknowing to her.

'It's ok. you're welcome.' he said shortly still staring at her intently.

'alright then, I shouldn't delay you any further' she said

'okay' Kol replied and turned to leave but stopped midway.

what was he doing? was he just going to leave without establishing anything? He needed a reason to see her again, right? These thoughts ran through his mind in split seconds.

'how would you care to grab a cup of coffee with me sometime?' Kol asked

She felt this happiness surge through her. He just asked her out for coffee. she couldn't believe this, or let's say she wasn't expecting it so soon.

'I'd love that' she said giving him a smile.

Kol dipped his hand into his jacket and brought out a complimentary card then handed it to her. She collected it immediately and gave him a smile.

Kol turned towards the exit and left. He was just too excited, extremely excited but didn't show it in his countenance.

'Kol what's up?' Tiffany asked shooting him a stare. She was standing beside the car, David was inside the car waiting for Kol's arrival.

'yeah. I got a conference meeting in the next 45 minutes, I have to I have to run' he said giving her a hug. She knew he was trying to divert her attention from the questions she was going to throw at him. She sighed.

'alright then, I'll see you later in the day. And thanks for coming' Tiffany said with a smile pulling from the hug.

'you're welcome' Kol said getting into his car and was driven off.

At Dinner

Tiffany was silent, observing Kol. She just kept looking at him

'he probably must have had the best day of work in weeks,' she thought seeing the way he looked so calmer than usual.

' you seem to be in a good mood this evening, Kol' Tiffany said with a grin, Kol just hummed

' may I know what is making you super excited?' she asked

' I'd rather not share' Kol replied shortly. He didn't want her to know just yet before he made any achievement.

' oh! okay' Tiffany said and continued eating not pushing it any further. She already knew that once Kol made a decision, no need convincing him to take a detour, it was impossible.

But deep down in her heart, she knew she was not just going to let this slide. Curiosity had got the better of her, as she wanted to know what made her ever serious brother soften up.

' what's up between you and Rebecca? How do you guys know each other?' she asked with a smirk, Kol only stared at her without saying a word

' don't think you can fool me. I took note of the way you looked at her. And don't think I didn't notice your heightened spirits right after speaking to her.' she said with a smirk

' What are you insinuating?' he asked pretty indifferently, maintaining his countenance

' that she makes you happy and that you have a soft spot for her' she said hitting the nail on the head, Kol scoffed

' It wouldn't surprise me if I were told she was the reason you came to the company today' she added, this time facing her meal.

' Can you please drop this already' he said not wanting to talk about it any further

' fine...fine. I won't push it' she said raising her hands above her shoulders.

' what a kill joy!' she said underneath her breath, facing her meal. She should probably get to know Rebecca better, she thought.

They ate their meal silently, and afterwards retired to their rooms

Kol was sitting on the couch in his room, working on his PC when his phone rang. He checked the caller ID and seeing that it was Amy, he frowned a little.

'Amy doesn't call late' he thought. He hoped that she was okay because the last time she called this late, she was stuck in the middle of nowhere. He answered the call at the first ring.

'hey Kol! What's up?' she said over the phone. She had decided to confess her feelings, to finally unbottle the feelings she had held hostage these past few years . It really took a lot from her to muster the courage to do that.

'how're you doing today?' Kol asked sitting on the couch

' I'm good. How about you?' she asked.

' I'm always okay. I'm surprised you're calling this late. Is everything okay?' he asked hoping in his heart that she'd say yes

' yeah. I just er... I have something I need to tell you' she said.

Kol could not see her expression, but he could tell from the way she talked that she was burdened by whatever she had to say to him.

' is everything okay, Amy?' he asked again a bit worried.

' yeah. Please no need to worry about me' she said as if sensing the worry in his tone

' okay. Hope you're not stuck somewhere again?' he asked this time teasing her. He was glad to know that she was okay.

' must you always be such a tease?' she asked, laughing a little, Kol smiled

' okay. So, what is it you want to tell me?' he was getting impatient already. He couldn't help it as curiosity had got the better of him.

' I don't think it's suitable to tell you what I want to tell you over the phone.' she said

' okay, do you want me to come over to your place?' he asked looking at the time on his phone. It was few minutes to 10pm

' No. How about the park close to my place.' she suggested

' Is that okay with you?' Kol asked and she smiled at the other end of the phone. Kol was always so sweet. He was her sweet Prince Charming.

' yeah! That's okay.' she replied. She was thinking she could tell him at lunch the next day since it was late; but since he could make it, it was just fine.

He was wearing just a singlet and a jeans trousers so he walked towards his wardrobe and took out a jacket.

' alright, I'll be there in twenty minutes' he said finally, grabbing his car keys from his bedside table then stepping out of his room. He knew whatever she had to say to him was very important, else she wouldn't have called him out this late.

' boss, where are you headed?' one of the bodyguards who was assigned to the house asked him

' I'll be back in a jiffy' he said shortly attempting to leave

' let me come with you boss. It's not safe to step out alone' one of the bodyguards tried to convince him stepping close to him as if to go with him

' It's fine. I can take care of myself' he said heading towards the parking lot. Besides, he always kept a loaded pistol in his car for backup so there was no need to worry.

He got into his car and drove out of the compound wondering what Amy had to say to him.
