Rebecca just arrived at her office. There was a lot of work to be done. Courtney, her assistant walked behind her taking long strides. Rebecca really knew how to walk hastily when she needed to do something really quick.
After giving it much thought, she decided to add to the number of scenes in the scripts to make it more realistic. Courtney didn't feel Rebecca had to go extra miles, though saw that it was still okay anyway. It wasn't so difficult after all as she just needed to add eight more scenes and it would just be perfect.
' please handle the audition in my place. Let me know if you need anything' Rebecca said to Courtney who nodded slightly leaving the office.
She worked on the scripts tirelessly, continuing from where she stopped the previous day. After about an hour, she casually placed the scripts she was working on aside and stood up to stretch. She had been working really hard these days as shooting was to begin in less than a week.
She thought about Kol and thought to give him a call. But giving it a thought, she decided not to. She guessed he must be at work and might be busy and so decided to text him instead.
' good morning Mr McClain. It's Rebecca.' she texted and sent but didn't get any response after waiting for a few minutes and so she texted again
' I guessed you might be busy and so decided not to call' she rubbed her palms together in anticipation
Not long after, her phone beeped and she leaned to take a look at the screen. It was a response from Kol. She beamed with a smile seeing that he replied to her message, then she went ahead to read it
' good morning. You guessed right. Will call you in an hour' she read to herself still smiling.

Kol was in a business meeting with an investor when he got a message from Rebecca. As soon as he saw that she was the one who messaged him, his face brightened up a bit. She always had a way of heightening his spirits as the cold and serious atmosphere suddenly showed a hint of warmth.
David, who was right beside Kol saw as he picked up his phone to reply to a text message. He raised his brows in surprise. Kol never replied to any message nor did he pick up any call that came in during the course of his meetings except it was a very important one.
At other times, when he suddenly received a call or text message he responded to, it was always about an important issue that needed to be sorted out as a matter of urgency. But seeing that Kol didn't make any attempt to get up or conclude the meeting got him even more surprised.
Not long after, the meeting was concluded and they headed straight to the company. But while in the car, David couldn't help but think something wasn't right somewhere. He didn't know how to bring it up seeing that Kol was totally unfazed.
' gosh. Totally unpredictable!' he exclaimed in his thoughts. Kol was just so unpredictable that even after all these years, he still could hardly figure out Kol's next line of action. You may think Kol might take a particular action or course, but he would just end up doing the exact opposite.
' boss, about the message you received earlier. I hope everything is okay?' he asked facing his PC
He had been Kol's assistant for several years now, since Kol got back to the country after his studies. He was with Kol even before he started working in the company. And when he took over the company after his parents' death, he also made David remain his PA still. And so David was at liberty to discuss most topics with him concerning the company and other stuff as well. And since David was an IT guru, he also handled all issues that ever arose.
Kol remained silent for a while before finally responding to David's question. David was already used to it. He knew Kol was a man of few words who hated talking too much and so he understood several things from his body language and facial expression rather than from his words.
' yeah. Don't bother' Kol said shortly
' and lest I forget, I'll go through the report you sent me last night, haven't really been able to' he added
' yes boss' he replied smiling with satisfaction. Kol really had an amusing way to show gratitude, he thought.
Not long after he arrived at the office, he placed a call to Rebecca, as he had promised he'd give her a call in an hour. She picked at the first ring
He was immediately thrown into confusion as soon as she answered the phone
' good day Mr McClain' he heard from the other side of the phone
He threw his head back on the chair as he ran his hand through it. He was somehow not comfortable with the formalities
' hey' was all he could bring himself to say.
' uhmm, how are you putting up with work today?' she asked
' I'm good, thanks. How about you?' he asked already getting along with the conversation
' I'm okay too. Uhmm, I... I just thought of you this morning and decided to send a message' she said
Kol was silent as he didn't know what to say to her. He had only been in a relationship once which was the result of his parents' pressure. So he didn't really know how best to respond to ladies
' uhmm, I apologize if I made you feel awkward with what I said' she said again and at once Kol sat up from his chair
' No. Not at all. Actually, that is so thoughtful of you.' Kol replied immediately
'thank you so much, Mr McClain' Rebecca replied. He could hear her smile from the other end and he felt so good
'how is your schedule like this weekend? I'd love to grab a drink with you or maybe have lunch' he said to her without thinking. He rubbed his forehead with his hand. He almost scoffed at the way he was so anxious to meet her in person.
' what the fuck did you do Kol? Now she's gonna think you're too straight forward' he thought still rubbing his forehead.
