Chapter 35 - Chapter 35

Meanwhile, unbeknownst to him, now, his woman has been rushed to the hospital.

--

Currently, Calista was being examined by a doctor while Calvino was waiting outside the room. Anxiety and fear engulfed Calvino at the same time.

'Oh my God, why did the doctor take so long?' Calvino whispered in his heart.

He paced back and forth while propping his chin. He glanced at the door over and over again, which was still closed tightly. He then continued to pray in his heart, hoping that nothing terrible happened to his beloved sister.

Unfortunately, his father called him at the wrong time. Not wanting his father to feel suspicious, he immediately picked up the call.

"Yes, dad."

"Have you arrived in Surabaya?"

"Yeah, I'm at Calista's apartment."

"Then where is Calis? Let me talk to her."

'Oh gosh, what should I say now? I'm sorry, I don't mean to lie to you but, I had to do this.' Calvino thought as he told his father that Calista was still in the office.

"I see. Call me immediately when she gets home from work. Your mom misses your sister so much."

"Sure, dad."

Luckily, Calvino had already hung up the phone when the doctor came over. The doctor informed him that he could meet Calista.

The doctor said that there was no serious illness. It was just that her stomach acid rose, so in a few days, she had to be hospitalised.

"Please come in, Mr Calvin. Ms Calista is waiting for you."

"Thanks, doctor," Calvino replied.

His arrival was greeted with the sweetest smile he had always missed. Without saying a word, he showered the top of his sister's head with kisses for a long time.

'This should never have happened, Calista. You're Kafeel's daughter. You shouldn't work so hard.' Calvino thought.

Seeing Calvino like this, Calista knew that the doctor must have said something terrible. If there weren't something horrible, her brother's face wouldn't be so gloomy.

Covered with fear, she ventured to ask her brother. Still, instead of receiving the answer, she was showered with many questions that instantly made her head feel dizzy.

"Why did it happen? What if I didn't come on time? Luckily, Mama asked me to visit you. And why did you change your apartment password? Did you do it on purpose? Don't do that, Calista!"

"Of course not, Calvin. I changed it so I can remember it easily. I often forget the old password, and it's your fault why you gave me a hard password to remember." Calista replied.

'I know you lied, Calis. How could you not remember? It's a combination of our birth dates.' Calvino thought.

"Okay, then get some rest! And does your boyfriend know that you're sick?"

Calista nodded.

"And he didn't come?" Calvino cynically asked.

Not wanting her brother to misunderstand, Calista explained that Leonard had come to her apartment. Still, she couldn't get up to open the door.

When Calvino was about to ask another question, Calista had already explained that Leonard's arrival coincided with his arrival.

"But I didn't see him."

"You may pass each other on the street."

"Your boyfriend is still lucky because I didn't see him. If I see him, I will directly beat him."

"Why do you want to beat him up? What's Leo's fault?"

"For not being able to take care of you."

"He is my lover, not my babysitter."

"Come on, don't talk too much! You'd better get some rest! I will be out for a while."

Calvino walked to the hospital cafeteria to fill his hungry stomach. On the way, he accidentally bumped into a woman. He immediately helped her up and apologised.

"No need to apologise. It's also my fault for being careless."

Seeing Calvino's appearance, which seemed to come from a wealthy family, she was provoked to get acquainted first. She then held out her hand and introduced herself as…

"Casandra,"

"Calvino,"

"Wow, we have the same name. There's a saying that if we have the same name, that means a match made in heaven," said Casandra, seducing.

Calvino just responded with a smile.

"Oh yeah, where are you going?"

"To the cafeteria."

"So do I. Why don't we get together to the cafeteria? "

Calvino was stunned for a moment as he narrowed his eyes. His gaze began to sharpen on Casandra.

It was strange that the girl he had just met but overly friendly. There must be something behind her attitude.

"How?" Casandra asked while snapping her fingers in front of Calvino's face.

"Oh, no problem. Let's go."

'It's easy to beat this handsome guy. If I could have him, he would be able to spoil me with his credit card.' Casandra muttered in her heart.

Casandra continued to start her actions to attract Calvino's attention. However, Calvino's calm attitude made her upset.

Usually, the boys were the ones who would chase her desperately, but the man in front of her was icy, even colder than an ice cube.

'Eh, he's not as easy as I imagined. But I can't accept it. I won't give up. This handsome man must be mine. A must!' Casandra thought as she insisted on chasing after Calvino.

Casandra was even more irritated when she saw Calvino's handsome face sparkling when he looked at the call on his phone screen.

"Who called? Must be your lover, huh?"

The answer disturbed hurt Casandra's ears. It turned out that Calvino was already married.

'I thought he's still single, but he's already married. Ish, poor me. But it's okay if he has a wife. Being his mistress is also fine because the most important thing is that he can transfer me money smoothly.' Calista thought.

"Then, where is your wife? Why didn't she come?"

Calvino could feel that the woman in front of him was trying to seduce him, so he immediately decided to leave her.

However, when he got up from his seat, he was stopped by the grip of fingers that wrapped around his wrist.

"Wait a minute, Casandra. I need to talk to my wife first." Said Calvino while gently patting his shoulder. After that, Calvino immediately walked away from there.

Before walking out of the cafeteria, he paid the bills, including Casandra's.

"What did you just say? Wife. Who do you mean with wife?" Lena snapped.

"Sorry, honey, I had to lie. I accidentally bumped into a crazy woman. So I had to lie."

"Where have you been?"

"In the hospital."

"In the hospital? How can that be? What are you sick of?" Lenata's tone looked worried.

"Not me but Calista."

"Calista… What's wrong with Calis? Can I talk to her?"

"Of course." Calvino walked straight to his sister's room.

Seeing his sister talking to the nurse, Calvino approached and handed her his phone.

"Lenata misses you. Go talk to her!"

"Lenata?"

Calvino nodded and gently stroked the top of his sister's head.
