But their is one brightness that they couldn't swallow, a silver orb of beauty and mystery that lingered throughout the darkness with it's fullest light. We called her the moon and she shined brighter than a thousand stars but remained trapped in the dead of the night.

In a crowded bar of flickering rainbows and discos, came out a wealthy man with a beautiful lady in spotlight. The man have two buff bodyguards by his side and is approaching his white shiny limousine of luxury.

The man smiled and laugh along with the enchantress lady dangling by his shoulder. Unfortunately, Neither of them knows that this is their last glee and the rest will be fear.

Just not far away, a high building towered a land just beneath the moon. In it's rooftop stands a another woman associated with death. She wear a black wolf mask on her profile and holds a sniper gun in her hands.

She aimed to the beautiful woman and pulled the trigger with no hesitation.

The bullet immediately hit the woman's forehead like lighting causing her instant death.

The woman stumbled to the ground with a thud and then leak in her head is crimson liquid known as blood. It's dripping faster like a coursing river and soon she will be in a pool of roses.

The man's face twitch in fear and screamed. The bodyguards then came alarmed and covered their boss. They tried to pull their guns out but before they could even grip the handle two bullets then came flying pass their heads like thorns. And they fall instantly to the ground in silence.

The man screamed for help as he ran like a horse to his car. But before he could get near, his throat got rip by the same bullet that flew by.

One bullet per person, that's the achievement that the assassin have earned through her shot.

Blue and red lights then lighted the evening with sirens and chattering citizens. Cops and directives came to check the crime seen and immediately recognize the bullet. The bullet that have the carving of a vicious wolf.

Another new victim is now listed to a wanted criminal code named as the Black Wolf.

She wasn't there anymore though, she's know in her hotel room watching the scenery of the bright moon through her big glass window. With a glass of wine in her right and a smoking cigarette in her left.

She have a birthmark in her neck that shaped like a crescent moon. And that adds to her look of how interesting she could be as the protagonist of her own bloody life of murder.

"The murderer named as Black Wolf strike again tonight! she killed four innocent victims, a woman and three men..." A reporter's voice echoed throughout Mayari's room.

She let the television on again and didn't bother herself turn it off.

Her phone suddenly rang in her pocket, she put aside her glass on the the table and grabbed the phone. She look at the number and instantly knew who is calling.

Oliver Daias, the secretary of her father.

She accepted the call and a familiar masculine voice then called his name from the other line.

"Mayari?"

"Speaking." She answered.

"Have you already killed the target?"

"Yes."

"Your father, have asked you to fly back to Philippines and meet him at his usual villa." Oliver informed.

"And why?" She asked in complete coldness of tone.

"He didn't state the reason." He replied.

"Why couldn't he just call me and said through online connection." Mayari stated emotionlessly.

Mayari then heard a chuckle from Oliver, "Still cold blooded as ever Ms. Mayari? but that won't work with your father. Obey him or face the consequences." he threatened, "You already know what will happen if a slave like you disobey her master."

"I'll be there." Mayari then hang up the call. Then continued to sip on her wine and smoke.

After that she throw herself to bed and let her nightmares begin.

But there is something agonizing about her dream, because this is not just a normal made up video by her head, this a nightmare depicted by her own memories of childhood.

She was awaken by the screech of a glass being smash to pieces after hitting the hard floor. She tried to sleep back but more shattering noises stabbed her ears like knives.

Little Mayari yawned and sluggishly get out of bed. She tip toed out of her room, eager to know what is happening down the kitchen.

She took her steps to the stairs and saw light in the kitchen, stinging slightly her eyes. She rub her eyes repeatedly and let it adjust to the brightness for a second before continuing to go down.

She could see the shadows of two figures moving in the light. She could hear voices of her parents arguing but she couldn't make out of the words cause she was still half asleep.

Finally, she have entered the kitchen... her eyes then turned round as her body froze from fear and shock.

Bang

Bang

Bang

Bang

Bang

Six gunshot then echoed in her ears like thunder.

Then a thud.

Reflected by her traumatize pupils she could see her father holding out a smoking gun, and her mother laying on the floor with a pool of bloody roses beneath her lifeless corpse.

Mayari's breath became shaky as tears came flowing down her eyes.

Her father then turned to her with a disgusting smile of pleasure and blood.

Frightened by the event that came across her view she couldn't help herself but to scream.

"Ahhhhh..."

Mayari woke up as the sun's ray pass through her window in complete blinding brightness shouting to her to get up.

Hearing the clock tick she couldn't afford to miss her flight. She then went out from bed and went to the bathroom to do her morning routine.

If you are asking if she remembers the nightmare, yes she remember. She just don't care.

Every night memories of her past always haunt her through nightmares or dreams with no end. It shot her frightened or in tears when she started to have those. But as time goes by she started to lose her emotions and saw the world in blood and money.

She became use to her nightmares and ignores them every night, waking up with ease and nothingness to view.

She isn't sad, she isn't also happy... she's numb and emotionless like the dead.

After breakfast, she the took all of her luggage and head to the parking lot to find her car.

As she walk, she felt her phone vibrated in her pocket, she push her hand deep to the opening and grab her phone.

But a woman in a hurry accidentally bump Mayari causing her to let got of her phone. The phone then got pulled by the gravity and got smash to the floor.

"Oh my, I'm sorry dear." The woman then grabbed her phone and dusted it by her hand.

The woman is about in her 30's but and holds an elegant mother-like beauty. She have dark chestnut hair and fair peachy skin with blue bright eyes that shows her positive personality.

She gave the phone back to Mayari but it was already shattered and cracked.

Mayari took her phone and tried to open it but it only made funny sounds and flashings lights

"It hit hard..." Mayari stated.

"Oh I'm very sorry, dear, how much is your phone I'll pay for it." The woman then reach to her bag to get her wallet.

"That's not necessary," Mayari stop her, "I could buy my own phone so there's no need for you to pay."

"Are you sure, dear?" The woman asked.

Mayari nodded. "Just watch out where you're going next time." Mayari advice as she put her phone back to her pocket.

"Blessed you, dear." The woman suddenly push her index finger to Mayari's forehead and then left with a smile.

Mayari touch her own forehead as she turned slightly to see the woman walking away, never looking back.

She find it strange but she then discard it from her mind and continued to walk ahead that she didn't notice the woman vanishing from behind.

She got to her car and started the engine. She drove an hour to the airport and ride another hour in the plane.

Then finally arrived at her home country. A private car sent by Oliver is already waiting at her outside the airport, so she doesn't need to call a taxi and just immediately hop right in.

The driver then drove her directly to her father's villa, a white beautiful mansion that stands right to the edge of a cliff. Cool but dangerous.

This is her father's favorite vacation spot. Well known for the beautiful scenery of the aquamarine ocean and the blue high sky accompanied by white cotton clouds.

Mayari entered the villa and got welcomed by maids, that handled her luggage, and Oliver.

"Welcome back to the country, Ms. Mayari." Oliver smiled, "How are you?"

"I'm fine." Mayari shortly replied. "Where's father?" And then asked straight to the point.

"Your father will be arriving in the villa this evening, he have some work in his criminal organization that he must immediately tend before having a vocation." He replied.

"I see..."

"Why don't you help yourself with relaxing comfort before meeting your father." He offered but Mayari declined and head straight to her room.

She waited throughout the day and sunset for her father to come and exactly 10 o'clock she was informed by Oliver that her father have arrived and is ready to see her.

Oliver also escorted her to an open balcony and there she saw a man on the edge, smoking and staring at the moon.

He is on his 40's, wearing a black luxurious suit with a dangled necktie. His black hair are mixed with dull white. And his brown skin are slightly wrinkled and smudge.

"Sir Adolf, your daughter is here." Oliver informed.

Mayari then walk towards him and speak, "You have summoned me, father?"

Adolf then blow smoke before he replied. "Come, Mayari."

Mayari then took a step closer to the edge of the balcony, side by side with her father.

"Look at the moon." Adolf pointed out.

And Mayari then turned her gaze to the moon that face the earth.

"It is as round as a coin and as bright as a silver sun, kinda reminds me of the night of the past... the night where I killed my idiotic wife." He then chuckled in delight.

"Oh my beloved Lisa." He grinned even wider as he repeatedly recalled the memory of his first love and first kill.

"If you called me here just to adore the moon and making me remember mom's tragic death then might as well dismiss me because we're just wasting time." Mayari demanded.

"Have some fun time, my beloved daughter, take that cold mask of yours off for a moment." Adolf blew another smoke.

"This is my face not a mask." Mayari coldly replied.

"You know what I meant." Adolf glared.

"And you also know I hate wasting time." Mayari talked back.

"You need to relax. I'll go get you a wine." Adolf then turned with his heels and walk to a near table where a wine and two glass are in place.

"You did this in purposes..." Mayari stated.

"I don't know what you are talking about?" Adolf denied as he pour wine to the first glass.

"This is mom's death anniversary."

"So you do remember." He then pour wine to the next glass.

"I won't forget that easily."

"Then that's astonishing."

Mayari suddenly heard a gun being grabbed, in instinct she then grabbed her own gun under her skirt and pointed it to her father just like how Adolf pointed the familiar gun on her own daughter.

They stayed silent for minutes as they stare at each others soul. Mayari's eyes deceive her and she saw her enemy as her loving father.

While Adolf's dark brown eyes fired, as he saw Mayari as the scared little child she was in the past. Battered in her own blood, afraid and shaking as she hold up a gun.

"Come on, Mayari!" Adolf laugh. "We both know that you couldn't kill me no matter how hard you push yourself."

Adolf then raise both of her hand along with the gun, leaving his body wide open.

"Shoot!" He ordered.

The tension in the atmosphere rise to it's highest but Mayari stayed still and didn't say a word.

"Shoot!" He ordered again.

But Mayari didn't pull the trigger and lowered her gun down as she pinned her stare to the floor.

"Just like I thought." Adolf pointed his gun once again. "You are not as cold blooded as everyone thought you are."

Oliver, who was standing at the door, then walk towards Mayari and took the gun from her grasp.

"I'm truly sorry, Ms. Mayari." Oliver whispered, "Goodbye." And then he walk away.

"Remember how beloved mommy Lisa died, Mayari?" He asked to her like she was a child.

"She died with six bullets buried against her torso." She replied.

"Very good, Mayari." He praise, "Do you remember this gun?"

"That's the same pistol you used to kill her." Mayari once again replied still pinning her stare down to the floor.

"Excellent!"

Her father praise once again as he clap with a sick expression of madness in his face.

"And that is how I will kill you." He laugh. "This is what you get for holding on past ties that have already been broken since years ago.

"That affection of yours weakens you and is the one to blame for your enslavement." Adolf utter, "I am your weakness, you could have killed me many times but you chose to serve... and to fear me."

Bang

Bang

Bang

Three bullets then hit Mayari like walls of metal in her abdomen. She lost her balance and kneeled down to the floor holding her wound as blood stained her blue dress and drip to the floor forming her own bloody pool of roses.

"I am your nightmare and your reaper of death." Adolf stated, "Now prepare to die."

"Wait..." Mayari immediately said.

Bang

Mayari's word cause Adolf to miss his aim and the bullet hit her shoulder instead of her chest.

"What?" Adolf coldly asked with a deadly glare.

Mayari breath air through her teeth as she tried her best to bare the pain.

"Why didn't you just killed me sooner?" She asked with a downcast face of pain.

"I trained you to be an assassin of my criminal organization to let you experience suffering and torture before you die in exhaustion." Adolf answered, "But you suddenly improved and became skillful. I was about to kill you myself right away but you brought big profits and blessed my organization with fame, so I decided to spare you."

"Now that I don't need your service anymore, your fired." Adolf was about to fire the last two bullets but he was drawn into a halt when Mayari took a stand.

"You have four bullets in you and you still manage to stand. You're tougher than I thought." Adolf then give a wide grin, "That's even more better! I could get a better aim."

Mayari then look at her father one last time with daze eyes.

"Goodbye, father." She said.

She then leaned backward and let herself fall out of the balcony and get thrown to the rampaging ocean below.

She watch as the moon above smiled at her with glowing light, the moon have been by her side all the time and somehow made her at ease everytime she gaze at the night sky.

The stars always laugh at her and hid but the moon always welcomed her and illuminate light brighter than the stars.

Mayari felt the ocean water near and she immediately close her eyes feeling the cold liquid soak her body as she dive right to the surface, and let herself sink to the depth.

Her blood splattered at the ocean like red smoke and her wounds ache at the salty water that brush her.

She never opened her eyes and just give in to the grasp of unconsciousness.

That she didn't saw a glowing dot suddenly appeared in her forehead and rapidly scattered throughout her body, enveloping her with hundreds of fireflies.

After the light fully consumed her, it immediately disperse and vanished along with her.
