This wasn't how things were supposed to turn out, his eyes met Darian's in the rear view mirror and the look on his face was pure evil, he was absolutely enjoying this.
"...what do you think Leon?" Jaxie chose that very moment to ask.
He blinked at this, caught off guard by Jaxon's expectant eyes. "It's...um… I think it's cool." He muttered, hoping it was the right response.
He could feel Darian's silent laughter because his hand was literally held over the psychopath's washboard abs, you'd probably get a concussion if you rammed your head against his stomach.
Fucking idiot.
Thankfully, his answer seemed to satisfy Jaxon because he smiled brightly and went back to looking at the scenery.
He used this opportunity to snatch his hand back and Darian let him, a ghost of a smile drifting across his hard face in the mirror when their eyes met.
Leon stuck his tongue out at him, upset that his fun had been ruined.
He sulked for only the briefest of moments though, looking at Jaxon, he had chosen to ride shotgun to escape from him.
His sneaky look returned as he inconspicuously moved closer to Jaxon, his eyes fixed on his prize, why hadn't he done this instead?
With Darian his movements had been quick and hurried but with Jaxon he moved deliberately, his hands warm and firm.
A sweet gasp escaped Jaxon when he felt hands encircle his bare waist.
It was quite loud in the silent car though and Darian immediately stepped on the brake, the car screeching, the occupants of the car getting thrown forward from the impact.
"That's it, only Jaxon will stay in the backseat." He stated through gritted teeth, unimpressed at Leon's howl of pain, he had bumped hard into Jaxon's seat.
Leon just rolled his eyes when he realised that Darian was dead serious, reluctantly making his way out.
"Don't you think you're being dramatic?" He drawled, holding the door open for Jaxon who had been quick to get down, from the looks of things it seemed that he was only that hasty so that he could get to cool down his flaming cheeks.
"If I wanted to be, I'd make you hitch a ride down to Cone." Darian deadpanned, making sure everything was going fine.
Leon shut his yap after this, sneaking a glance at Jaxon to make sure the other was okay, he seemed fine enough, mostly recovered.
Too bad Leon wouldn't get the opportunity to make him flustered again, oh well, there would be other times.
The journey went pretty smoothly after that, Jaxon falling asleep while looking out the window so that he was curled up on the backseat, Darian and Leon occasionally checking up on him.
"This would be faster, not to mention easier if I just get rid of you." Leon sighed soulfully when he made sure that Jaxon was fast asleep, he was referring to getting Jaxon and Darian was obviously aware of this.
Darian just cut him a glare, unimpressed. "You seem awfully interested in walking the rest of the way."
Leon grumbled at this, turning away to focus on the road, impressed.
As much of a distraction that he had been the entire journey, Darian had stepped on the gas, they.
They were well past the city now, a couple more hours and they would be at Cone.
Jaxon woke up not long after, Leon and Darian were relieved that he could even manage to fall asleep.
"It's time for snacks." He announced after he was fully awake, rubbing away the grogginess from his eyes.
Jaxon perked up at the thought of this, there was pumpkin pie after all. "Here, take." He handed Leon a honey muffin.
"I can't feed myself." Darian said with a straight face.
Leon paused his muffin halfway to his mouth. "What the fuck did you say?" He spluttered in disbelief.
Jaxon was already agreeing though, nodding cutely. "Of course, you're driving…"
"I'll feed him then." Leon cut in grumpily, making a move to feed Darian his muffin but the other just averted his face to the other side.
"You'll just stick your finger down my throat." Darian refuted.
"That'll be me being nice." He deadpanned, bringing the muffin even closer.
"I'll bite your finger off." Darian threatened, his eyes darkening.
"Don't worry, I'll feed him instead." Jaxon quickly cut off their escalating argument.
"What about me?" Leon pouted, looking betrayed.
Jaxon was flustered. "B-but you're not driving."
Leon just shrugged, handing back the uneaten muffin to Jaxie. "It doesn't matter."
Jaxon gave in at this, knowing it was either he fed them or he gave up on eating entirely.
"Fine." He accepted, putting out the muffin that Leon had ignored back to him.
He was distracted while offering him the muffin, already reaching with his second hand for a slice of pie to offer Darian.
A squeal escaped him when Leon licked his fingers. "Leo!" He scolded, snatching back his hand.
Shaking his head in disapproval, he gave Darian the pie, which he obediently and properly ate.
"See," Jaxon narrowed his eyes at Leon. "Darian doesn't… ahh ah!" He cried out, cutting himself off.
Darian had pulled two of his fingers in his mouth, sucking and nibbling on the digits.
"You were saying?" Leon raised a brow at him.
Jaxon sat back with a disgruntled look, clutching his hands to himself. "I'm not feeding either of you anymore, if you want muffins or pie, you get it yourself." He pouted, cheeks heated.
Neither Leon or Darian were happy with the outcome of things but at least they could appreciate how cute a grumpy Jaxon was.
The journey moved even faster now, it was past noon, the sun high in the sky, they would be at Cone soon.
Cone was even more obscure than Pine Creek, the werewolves were known to humans around the town as the natives and it seemed that everything they did that was strange was just attributed to that fact.
It did help a lot in terms of keeping their identity hidden, the humans had no reason to be suspicious of them and it only seemed natural if anyone were to find out why they literally owned the entire town.
