Chapter 43 - Chapter 43

Finding their way around town was quite easy, they had already been provided the address so finding their destination wasn't much of a hassle.

The town was far quieter than Pine Creek, although in her defense, Paper District was where all the commotion happened.

They drove deeper in, past neighbourhoods, it wasn't jarringly visible but one could tell when they got to the parts of the town where the werewolves lived.

Unlike with their Pack, Cone's werewolf Pack, Midnight Pack did not exactly have a Pack House.

It was more like they spread out over more than half of the town with one prominently large building close to the woods, that was where they were headed.

Alpha Noah himself was the one to receive them, his Luna by his side, a petite and curvy brunette who he introduced as Brie.

They wisely left all the talking to Jaxon who easily won over the Alpha and his Luna's affection.

"We'll discuss later but I'm sure you must be exhausted, we'll let you settle in." Alpha Noah said with a nice smile.

It was slightly odd to see such a matured Alpha, with Virgil and Dale who were pretty young, Alpha Noah looked to be in his late forties and he wore it well.

There were streaks of grey in his black hair, sharp gaze calm, his arm was also constantly around his mate.

Jaxon couldn't blame him, if he looked like that, he was pretty sure he had to fight off his fans.

"Lunch is done but just let me know if there's anything you'd like to eat, dinner is by seven and I'd love to see you there." Brie spoke up with a welcome smile, her voice husky.

"Thank you." Jaxon spoke for them again.

"Joe will show you to your room, Ethan, our Head Beta isn't here at the moment but we can always get some drinks after dinner." Alpha Noah said kindly, a Pack member stepping forward after his name was mentioned.

They expressed their gratitude as the Alpha and the Luna of Midnight Pack walked away, Brie softly scolding her husband.

"I thought you said you wouldn't drink again, darling…"

"We have got company, love…"

Jaxon was occupied with other things, even as members of the new Pack pitched in to help them carry their stuff in.

Did Alpha Noah just say room?

As in one, singular building?

"Jaxie are you coming?" Leon's voice broke him out of his thoughts as they followed after Joe, most of the Pack members around them looked at Darian and Leon in awe, careful to keep their eyes off Jaxon because of the death stares that earned them.

"Yeah," He muttered distractedly.

Virgil had clearly stated that he wasn't on a business trip so he doubted that Leon and Darian would let him join them for drinks, which was awesome, he couldn't hold his liquor one bit.

The Midnight Pack House was clearly different from theirs, it was more cozy in the way that everything was much smaller.

Crimson Pack House was much spacier with high ceilings and lots of windows to accommodate the population.

They just had to go up one flight of stairs and after a few turns down a carpeted hallway, they stopped in front of a door.

Jaxon watched nervously on, expecting them to point that out as one of their rooms and move on because he couldn't have heard right.

The Pack members that had pitched in to help however dropped their bags and luggages and made themselves scarce, leaving just Joe who stared at them with a welcoming smile which was fast fading at the matching look of horror on their faces.

"Are we all sharing an apartment?" Darian spoke up for the first time since they arrived at Midnight Pack, his voice dark.

Joe flinched at this, at a loss for words, he had clearly not expected their reactions. "We… I mean… the Alpha figured that you would feel much more comfortable if you were all to share the same space but… but if you wanted, arrangements can be made to put you in separate rooms…"

"No, it's fine." Jaxon cut off Joe's flustered rambling, his voice firm. "We appreciate your thoughtfulness, it's just a bit surprising, that's all." He explained congenially.

"Ahh, that's alright then, you're welcome once again." He tipped off an imaginary hat to them and made himself scarce really quick.

Jaxon just had to take a look at the werewolves hovering over him to get the gist of the matter. "Stop glaring so hard, you'll make our Pack look bad." He scolded them, opening the door to the apartment.

Joe had handed him the key earlier while they were talking.

"You should have let them change Darian's room, Cherry, so we'll have this one all to ourselves." Leon pouted, stepping in after him.

Darian calmly put a leg out, unfazed when the other werewolf stumbled and barely caught himself.

"See what I'm talking about!" Leon whipped around in fury, glaring hard at Darian.

"No fighting." Jaxon called from somewhere inside the apartment.

He had immediately gone to check if there were at least three rooms because sharing a bed with either one of them would lead to nothing but pure disaster.

He sighed audibly when he confirmed that there were indeed, three, separate rooms.

Now he could face Darian and Leon again, talking about those two, why was it awfully quiet?

Quickly, he hurried back out to the front door, thrown aback but not entirely surprised by the scene he walked up to.

Leon had Darian pinned on the ground, it looked like he would be flipped over soon and from the looks of things they had been doing that for quite a while.

"Enough fighting." Jaxon said in an exasperated tone, walking over them to get started on bringing the luggages in. "Come help with the bags." He invited them.

Immediately, they both separated, not without juicily glaring at each other though.

Jaxon sighed tiredly when they made getting the luggages into the apartment into a competition, it was going to be a hell of a couple months.
