Darian and Leon were dismissed earlier for Virgil and Jaxon to discuss, both heading in the same direction.
Darian was relieved as he turned to his apartment, although the chances of Jaxon being allowed to come along had been pretty high, Virgil could have still pulled some overprotective stint and not let him.
He slipped his key in the lock, turning it and pushing open the door. It was the weekend so he had the family lunch the next day.
He was so distracted with his thoughts that he didn't notice Leon follow right after him.
He didn't plan to stay invisible for long though, he hopped on a couch, throwing his legs every which way.
Darian started at this, immediately going on high alert.
"Fucking hell." He muttered under his breath, relaxing when he saw it was Leon.
Usually, he would be physically throwing the werewolf out by now but he was becoming accustomed to him just showing up out of nowhere.
Besides, they had things to discuss.
Leon looked oddly sober, which only meant that he was about to blurt something out.
He didn't disappoint.
"So who's taking Cherry out on a date first?" He asked casually, a steely stare fixed on Darian's face.
Darian just shrugged, resting against the arm of another chair. "Me, naturally, I came up with the idea after all."
Leon's expression darkened at this. "Like hell you will."
"You don't even know what a date is." Darian tossed at him.
"And you do?" Leon returned icily.
"Fuck, this is getting nowhere, let's spar for it." Darian suggested.
Leon's eyes lit up at this but then he glanced to the side with a petulant expression. "That hardly seems fair, we both know I'll win." He muttered with an almost pout.
Darian just stared at him. "Fine then, let's rock-paper-scissors for it."
Somehow, Leon emerged the winner but Darian wasn't bothered, he would barely have the time for a proper date the next day anyway and he would rather light himself on fire than take Jaxon to a family lunch on their first date.
"Alright, you won, now get the fuck out of my apartment." He said to Leon who was starting to look too comfortable.
The entire thing was complicated because he and Leon couldn't be enemies, they weren't planning on being friends either.
Also neither of them looked ready to give Jaxon up but someone had to lose in the end, it would get messy soon.
"But I like it here, it's so clean." Leon murmured, getting comfortable on the couch.
"It's just lived in, try doing that to your own apartment." He tossed over a shoulder, heading to his bedroom to get changed, he expected Leon to make himself scarce before then.
He showered and changed into comfortable clothes, he had plans to laze the whole day away, he would need to recharge for lunch the next day anyway.
He drifted back out, feeling peckish only to find Leon fast asleep on his couch.
He paused in shock, pushing a hand through his hair, what was he to do with the annoying Head Warrior? Didn't he know that you didn't fall asleep on a person's couch after they tell you to get the fuck out?
But waking him up wouldn't be nice, it wasn't like he planned on staying in the living room anyway.
He passed on to the kitchen to find something quick to munch on, maybe he should take a page from Leon's book and also catch up on very much needed sleep.
After the weekend they would be really busy after all, their weeks were backed up.
They would have to set up a meeting of the Warriors, someone had to be in charge of the Pack Warriors when they left for Cone.
Also, the monthly run was coming up soon which was a relief, it would be strange running with a different Pack.
He wasn't too sure about that though, because it seemed like they would have to leave before then, the Alpha in Cone specifically requesting that.
So yeah… sleep was important.
He glanced at Leon again as he went past to his bedroom again, he had most of his piercings in and it was strange the way he curled up like a child.
He didn't spend too much time watching the other because there was no guarantee that Leon would jolt up and spit out some jab that would annoy Darian.
He was honestly just surprised that Leon could fall asleep in his apartment, he would be wary of letting his guard down that way in Leon's apartment so it was very strange for him to sleep so easily.
He wasn't complaining though, a sleeping Leon was quiet and still, he wouldn't be irked by him.
He went and got blankets and a spare pillow, might as well make him comfortable, hopefully he wouldn't kick Darian's face in while he was trying to help him.
Tucking the pillow underneath his mop of gold hair was the biggest hurdle and Darian was so wary of doing that that he considered just plopping the pillow down and taking off.
But, he could be nice, Leon did not even rouse even as he cradled his head in one hand to help lift it up so that he could place the pillow under.
See, he could be a good person.
He drew up the blankets and took off, that was enough charity for one day.
Even more worrisome than the fact that Leon had somehow fallen asleep in point two seconds in his apartment was how easily Darian also felt sleepy.
He should have been more conscious of the fact that Leon was literally a room away, what if he got stabbed in his sleep?
Jaxon wouldn't like that…
He could bank his safety on the simple fact that he knew that just like him, Leon couldn't do anything to hurt Jaxon.
It was the only reason that they could stand each other and tried to compromise.
Darian's thoughts started to slowly dissipate as sleep floated in on the waves of a midmorning breeze.
And if he woke up to half his hair gone or some shit like that, he was killing Leo, Jaxon would have to get over him.
