Luna opened her eyes. She was in her room and It was already morning. Without any other thoughts on her mind, Luna went to her computer. She typed in the URL for the Silver Skies wiki. For the next 30 minutes, her time was spent researching the game. After a few more minutes into her research, her father came into her room with breakfast.
"Hey, so how was the game? Did you have fun?" Luna pressed her lips together. She took a moment to think about her experience last night. The more she thought about it, the more Luna realized that she was just playing a game.
"It was weird dad..." Her father's expression was confused. His reaction was warranted though. As he wasn't aware of how the game actually was played. The only games he played back in high school used controllers. It wasn't uncommon for a lot of adults that grew up on cellphones to not know how advanced the world had truly gotten with dive tech.
Even for Luna herself, this was the first time she had ever used a NeuroCast. Full dive was brand new after all. Especially one that can simulate all 5 senses. With her first time experience, she understood why the NeuroCast was currently so expensive. But as Luna was thinking about the game, her father interjected her thoughts.
"What do you mean?" Luna decided to tell her father a little about what had happened with her experience of getting lost. She left out the part about Noll and his dream to not scare her dad into thinking this game wasn't good for her. Even after all the bad stuff that happened, she still enjoyed herself.
"Interesting, I didn't know that's how advanced games have come to be. It sounds like a lot of fun. Well, anyways... how did you feel after waking up?" Her father looked a bit more worried this time. Luna didn't want to tell her father. She knew right after her father would leave the room, that she would go right back into Silver Skies. After everything that she found out about the game, Luna was both excited and tired.
"I feel great dad. Thanks for buying me the game!" Luna gave her best smile.
"That's great, but if you want to thank someone then you should thank your mother. She was the one who made the final decision after all." Her father patted her head before leaving the room. Now it was time for Luna to dive fully into the game's wiki and how to play.
-
3 hours had passed. At this point, Luna had realized the time and went back into the game. She was back in her room at the inn. During her 3 hours of time on the game's wiki she found out a lot of basic information for beginner players like her. The first thing she found out about was game commands. They were used for quick access to the menus that weren't present unlike the settings and options. There were also separate commands when you said the name of skills. 'It's like an anime.' Luna thought aloud.
"Yeah I'm back... what's it to you?" Luna was a little bit pissed off at Noll's attitude. Although with how he's been acting, she should have seen it coming.
"Status" Luna said the command and a screen came in front of her. It listed a lot of different things most of which Luna was already expecting. But a couple of things came as a surprise to her.
"Oh lord, o-oh god" Her voice trembled in awe. She had read all sorts of cool things about the game. two things came as an interest to her. The first was the addition of chrysalis's. The second was the loads of different classes. From what other people had already put on the wiki, there were already over a hundred known different classes within the game. But that wasn't what made Luna so interested. It was the rarity behind the classes.
The rarity list went from common, uncommon, rare, epic, unique, and finally legendary. The same rarity also applies for gear that can be obtained in the game. They all had an individual aura depending on the rarity. It was only really known how to obtain classes up to epic. But Luna herself had a light golden color shining from her class. Her class had also changed from swordsman. But as for the rest of her status:
Name - Luna
Class - DreamWalker
Level: 1
HP - 20 MP - 5
STR - 3 AGI - 3 INT - 1 STM - 2 WIS - 1
Sanity - 100
Stat points - 40
Chrysalis - Stage 0
Title - Legendary One
"DreamWalker...?" Although Luna was completely blown away by the golden words. She also had no idea what this meant or how she even got it in the first place. Her Level had now returned to 1 as well. Which frustrated Luna slightly as she spent 6 hours earlier leveling up.
At this very moment, Luna was the first user to obtain a legendary class. Hardcore gamers from all over the world were trying their hearts out to obtain the strongest and coolest classes. While Luna accidentally gained a legendary class as a result of her sleepiness. Most people if they heard this would pull their hair out.
There was also "Sanity" which Luna wasn't even aware of. It was something that was already at 100 so she knew it wasn't some type of stat like the other 5. It also looked to be grouped separately in her status. But Luna had never seen it on the wiki, so she assumed it was something to do with the DreamWalker class.
"I said DreamWalker, and why are you so interested?" Luna asked suspiciously.
Noll spoke as if remembering something. Luna laid back on her bed and stared up at the ceiling, trying to remember when she could have obtained the class.
"Then I guess that means this new class is somehow related to meeting you? Because I have no recollection of getting myself a legendary class." Luna said with a troubled face
"Chat log!"
[Warning! Linking mana can permanently change a user's mana circuits!]
[You have exchanged mana with the unknown creature.]
[The unknown creature is now bonded to you.]
[You have completed the conditions to change into the class DreamWalker. Do you want to change your class Y/N]
Luna must have accepted the class when she was freaking out. The fact that the Nightmares were getting closer and closer terrified her before. She had no real idea what was going on in the moment and just went with the flow. Now because of her rash actions and ignorance in skipping through the warning windows. Noll will permanently be stuck to her like an annoying parasite.
"Ahh damn... this sucks." Luna's face planted itself onto her pillow. Her feelings towards this new issue were mixed. On one hand, she earned a legendary class and could be considered a super lucky person. But on the other, now she has Noll following her around. Pestering her with questions day and night.
For now, she decided it was best to get her mind off of things. First thing to do was to distribute her stat points she earned. It must have been some sort of mistake on the part of the developers. But they were leftover from her time as a swordsman and it looked like her previous levels would help her out quite a bit. The problem was that the class DreamWalker wasn't really as simple as a swordsman. Her stats determine her class's performance, and she didn't want to play worse because she put more points into strength or intelligence. Thanks to the wiki, Luna knew exactly what to do.
Players are able to inspect almost everything in their status for clearer details and more information. 'It's amazing how many people were able to figure out the game commands.' Luna thought aloud. But in reality, the tutorial NPC's taught each command to new players as they entered their respective towns. It was an unfortunate circumstance, but Luna only thought that the info came specifically from players. Looking at her status, Luna inspected her class.
[Class - DreamWalker
Rarity - Legendary
Difficulty - ???
Class details: A wanderer of dreams. This class is only for those that truly cherish the dreams of others. You are a legendary existence, to be feared by nightmare in both the real and dream worlds.]
"The difficulty is unknown?! And how is this supposed to help me better understand how to play the class?!" All of the other class definitions that Luna had seen in the tutorial made sense for where their stats should be placed based on playstyle. But DreamWalker doesn't even mention how it should be played. Although now the big problem lies in it's difficulty. Luna was previously playing swordsman which was the easiest class in the game. But, now she chose a class with a difficulty that was not even understood by the game itself.
There were so many new problems that Luna had to deal with. 'It feels like whenever I try to solve a problem, more problems just result from me trying to fix it' Luna thought aloud. She had a headache from all of the new things that just happened and from lack of sleep recently. Now there was no better time for her than now. There was one place where she couldn't go wrong. Sleep.
"I'm gonna take a short nap. If anything happens, wake me up." Luna spoke to Noll before deciding to sleep. But Noll had other plans for the girl.
