The word might alone couldn't fully describe Jin Chen in this state. He was light years away from the Jin Chen who lay limply on the hospital bed with no future. From his appearance alone one could understand why he had a crowd of followers at his feet.
He stood tall on a platform in an arrogant domineering stance like he was meant to be obeyed. His body exuded a dark and sinister aura despite being adorned in a snow-white coat made from the fur of some misfortunate beast.
His luscious blue-black hair fluttered with the wind revealing a dark fog with azure cracks that closely resembled strokes of lightning creeping up from his neck all the way up to his eye giving off an eerie feeling.
He crouched down glowering at the brawny man with a red bear claw on his bare chest. The man stood tall challenging him to a duel for his seat as the grandmaster of the Arogue guild with a look of determination on his face.
This wasn't the first time someone had grown a tail and challenged his authority but something about this situation was off. Everything about this challenge gave off a strong stench of something malicious.
Why would a person he had already beaten half to death after breaking each and every bone in his body brazenly come back to pick a fight? He was either foolish or he had some sort of backing giving him blind confidence.
Jin Chen seemed unfazed by his useless ramblings so he stood up to leave. He appeared aloof and indifferent to the situation walking away. He gently lifted his index finger issuing out his command to the man standing a short distance from him.
The man had eyes like that of a bald eagle and a yellow gemstone on his forehead. He heeded his leader's command and leapt off the platform as tall as a ten-story building descending like a fallen angel. His yellow and gold armour shone under the bright sun giving off a majestic air that could only belong to the mighty.
But that dazzling grandeur was all for nothing because just as the crowd reached a pivotal moment jeering him on he was suddenly struck by a whip made from the spine of a rare god-level beast known as Shenmi. It was indeed a mysterious beast that was all but a myth up until now.
Though it was legendary and unseen by most it had, according to the system specs, a skeletal structure made of the hardest metal in Equino with sharp serrated edges on each of the 650 vertebrae. If a human spine has 33 then this beast was more than twenty times larger than the average human.
Only the heavens know how this bear claw man was able to find it, kill it, gut it and turn that spine into a powerful whip.
In the hands of bear claw, the whip was like a Lamborghini in the hands of Lewis Hamilton.
Imagine the might of 769 horsepower in the hands of a pro. That's how this bear claw man was like when he swung that whip swatting the enemy out of the sky like a fly.
The gemstone man groaned as he flew past the crowd before crashing into the arena wall. A cloud of dust rose from the point of impact making the onlookers cough while checking if Jin Chen's right-hand man was still alive.
The moment he hit the wall Jin Chen's steps paused.
The azure strokes on his neck spread with the dark fog underneath his skin as his anger upgraded to a whole new level. In Rykan, Jin Chen had been challenged to a duel a couple of times but each of those times it was like a learning experience for the challengers.
Once he beat them in tune they wouldn't come back for seconds, all except for bear claw over there. He had intended to ignore him and let his subordinate shut him up but who would have known the enemy had acquired a new toy and he was eager to show it off.
"Good," he said in a minacious tone. His eyes shone a dark blue glint before he turned back and leapt off the platform. Seeing that his target had taken the bait, the bear claw guy grinned wolfishly as he swung the whip that had wrapped itself around his arm.
A loud crackling sound echoed in the arena splitting the air into half at a visible rate. Jin Chen narrowly missed the whip that cracked right by his ear.
His expression subtly changed as he made a peculiar hand signal as a string of azure flames slithered around him like a boa constrictor before striking the bear claw man.
As though anticipating Jin Chen's move he wordlessly instructed the whip to coil itself into a circle and shield him. It was as though the whip and he were of sound mind working in tandem. The whip made a buzzing sound as it abruptly coiled itself like a snake shielding him from the incoming flame attack.
The impact upon contact was so powerful that it sent dust and debris blowing in all directions. The crowd was instantly covered in red dust but they didn't care jeering louder than before. Jin Chen stared down at him with an expression that seemed to say 'you ain't shit'.
The message seemed to have been conveyed because the bear claw man was immediately angered to the point of foaming from his mouth. He retracted the whip and bellowed as he looked up to the man hovering above him.
"Come at me!.... Come at me with all you fuckin got you pathetic excuse of a leader..... come on!"
Jin Chen scoffed averting his gaze like this man was simply wasting his time. The whip was good but not good enough to defeat him. He ignored the man's senseless babble waiting for him to finish yacking and start fighting but the bear claw man wasn't done yet.
Realising he had lost Jin Chen the man decided on another route to grasp this man's attention. He turned the whip towards the audience and swung it hard intending to decapitate these innocent bystanders.
"See if you will ignore me after that!!!" he yelled followed by a loud cracking sound that had one having goosebumps just by hearing it. This man managed to turn a crowd jeering for their champion into a crowd running for their lives in a split second. The screams of joy were suddenly morphed into screams of terror.
And the sad thing about this was they didn't have enough time to flee for their lives as their ranking were too low to run from the impending doom.
