I must keep my enemies close so that whatever I fear may become my home in time.

Madison's scream was so shrill that I felt my ears hurt. It was dark everywhere, I couldn't see one's hand in front of one's face. I wanted to use my powers to illuminate the area we were in, but the beings I felt around my body would not allow me to raise my arms. I couldn't breathe, as if their heavy presence was filling my nose and my lungs with darkness I could never pierce.
I could feel hands all over my body, but these hands did not feel like normal human skin. Their hands were like smoke, but they still squeezed my skin like they wanted to pierce it. I didn't expect to hear voices as I was frozen in fear at that moment. Their smelly mouths were so close to my ear that their voices seemed to come from inside my head. "It's dark. It's so dark. I want to see the sun, wouldn't it be better if your body was mine?"
