Chapter 6 - One month

One month had passed in the blink of an eye. Gin got used to living in this unknown forest. At first, he was shocked when he found that he couldn't see the end of this forest. No matter how much he tried to leave, he couldn't leave this forest.

He couldn't estimate how large this forest based on his knowledge.

He also found some dangerous monster here which was above level 1. He wouldn't be able to take down that level of monster even if he had three ghouls at his side.

Based on his understanding of high-level mutants on earth. A level 2 could fight fifteen level 1 at the same time and a level 3 could fight fifteen level 2. Still, everything depends on the ability of a person. If that level 3 only had an ability that's not suitable for battle then it could only fight a few level 2.

Just like him, his ability wasn't suitable for a one on one battle so if he met someone who had the powerful offensive ability then he would die easily. The power of his ability lied in his troops and territory. Sooner or later, he would be able to create a large number of powerful creatures.

This was really an unfathomable forest. The danger was higher than he expected. It could be compared to high-level dungeons back on earth.

He found one thing why he survived on this forest in this one month. His [Foul Domain] was releasing negative energy which wasn't pure, unlike mana which could be found in the air. Negative energy was the energy of undead creatures. Mana and this negative energy, let's call it dead mana, were connected to each other.

It was the same if a mana went inside the body of undead, it will become a dead mana. A corrupted form of mana. Also, if a person purifies the dead mana it will revert back to the pure mana without corruption or elemental connection.

The color of pure mana was blueish white. Normally, it couldn't be seen by naked eye but if he compressed it he could see that it has that blueish-white color. The color of mana depends on the attribute of the person. Gin had undead attribute so the color of his mana was black.

In other words, the [Foul Domain] was releasing dead mana which the other creatures didn't like. So most of the monsters avoided his territory once they felt the nasty mana in the air.

But this dead mana was beneficial to him and other creatures that have the same attribute as him. As result, Gin managed to increase his energy pool to 10 in just one month. Damn! He didn't expect that his [Foul Domain] had this kind of effect.

Two points in a month. That's unthinkable when he was on earth. But now that he experienced it he realized that the high-level hunters on earth were monopolizing this type of training regime. No wonder those people could reach level 3 and level 4.

So if one point per year, those people would only become level 1 mutant like him.

For the information, to become a level 1 mutant the energy pool of a person should reach 10 points. Once a person reached 10 points their body would change and they would awaken ability. That's the same for the level above it. Awakening on level 2, level 3, and level 4. That's why the government divided the level based on the awakening of the people.

The first awakening was 10 energy pool.

The second awakening was 20 energy pool.

The third awakening was 50 energy pool.

The fourth awakening was 100 energy pool.

He didn't know if there were a level above it but no one on earth managed to reach level 5. The highest energy pool ever recorded was 545. It was the energy pool of the number 1 hunter on earth.

Since his energy pool increased by two, he used it to summon one Brittle Skeleton and one Flesh Tree.

The skeleton's power was much stronger than the ghoul and its ability was called [Enhance Bones] which could increase the toughness of the bones of the user for five minutes.

Aside from that, he wanted to keep this skeleton as his personal guard. The ghoul wouldn't work out because of its rotten smell. He would station the ghoul outside his territory to watch if someone will approach them.

Also, the ghoul grew stronger in the past month and become a level 1 just like him but since he summoned the skeleton he went back to level 0.

• [Poison Ghoul]

Evolution: 1st level

Energy pool: 12

Power: 29

Speed: 25

Physical Resistance: 30

Energy Resistance: 26

Abilities: [Poisonous Touch]

After it reached level 1, the Rotten Ghoul became a Poison Ghoul. Its appearance changed too. Gin could clearly see its face unlike before. Also, its strength increased greatly. This was completely different from him which was below average.

So this is the true stats of a level 1 mutant.

Comparing himself to this ghoul, he felt pity. That man from the Hunter's Association was right. He was weak compared to a normal level 1 mutant.

But he easily put thought feelings away. Why? Because he had a level 1 mutant that he could control.

Oho! Ghoul-chan would only grow stronger and skeleton-kun would follow it. He doesn't need to fight. He only needed to use his ability and order his summoned undead.

It seems that he doesn't need to be worried about betrayal. His summoned creatures revered him like a god. Well, he could understand it as he was the one who created them.

He was like a god for them.

How did he know it? Since he could share senses with his summoned creatures he also felt their feelings.

The flesh tree was one of the reasons why the ghoul reached the first level faster than he imagined.

Gin turned his head and looked at the flesh tree. This tree used four square meters of his domain. It looked like a withered tree with leaves but it a mouth near its roots. Any undead creatures could hide inside it and their strength would grow rapidly. Also, it produced five fruits once a week that could increase the power of people with undead attributes.

What he didn't know that this flesh tree was long gone from this world and was treated as legend. People with undead attributes would drool at the sight of it. It was like a treasure trove for them.

Since the ghoul was quite strong, he would begin expedition once again. He would try to find the exit of this unknown forest.

He was dying to meet other humans.
