Chereads / Another World's King of Pestilence / Chapter 12 - Everyday Life

Chapter 12 - Everyday Life

Two days had passed and Gin's group arrived in his territory, the [Foul Domain]. It was a rough journey but they managed it well. All of them survive thanks to the guide of his units.

On their journey, they consumed all the foods in the caravan that the slave trader prepared.

The slaves were surprised when they saw the state of the land. Dead mana which was considered corrupted mana was all over the place. A mana for undead creatures but when they saw the two creatures beside Gin they thought that it wasn't surprising.

It wasn't surprising to them when he picked this location. After all, he had two undead creatures at his side. But they were curious about one thing.

Why did the two undead protecting him?

Gin stood in front of them and said, "From now on, all of you will become a citizen of the [Evil Empire]. You are slaves that have nowhere to go like me. Although you can't understand me, I assure you that I will not treat you badly as long as you follow my command."

He doing hand gestures for them to better understand what he meant. It was hard but at least he passed his thought to them.

Well, they had no choice but to follow him. The slave stick was in his possession after all. They couldn't disobey anyone who had that stick as long as they had the slave collar around their neck.

Although he said those words, Gin didn't know what he should do with them. He just let the skeleton help them in hunting wild monsters for their lunch and dinner.

This place was safe. Although the slaves were feeling uncomfortable because of the dead mana in the air, they could only endure it as the monsters wouldn't approach this place for the same reason.

"I'll shut myself and slowly accumulate my troops. Once I've got enough strength, I will attack that village." He muttered while rubbing his chin.

So his priority was to study and learn the basics of this world...

Luckily the slave trader has books that could provide him some help regarding this problem. The slave trader wanted to train the slaves so that he would be able to sell them at a higher price.

One by one, Gin opened the books in front of them, and he picked someone capable of reading what's written on the books.

The result was pretty surprising.

A young boy between 12-14 years old was the one who could read and write among all the slaves here. He had bruises on his arms and legs. His brown short brown hair was messy and his brown eyes didn't dare to look straight at Gin.

Gin pointed at himself and said, "Gin." He then pointed at the boy as if asking what's his name.

The young boy understood what he was trying to say so he slowly opened his mouth and said while trembling, "Lovi."

He was afraid of Gin and the two undead that he controlled. He also doesn't want to die so he had no choice but to follow Gin's instructions. He knew that this man killed the slave trader and his guards without contempt.

Although the slave trader was a scum who did bad things, he still wouldn't be able to kill that man without batting an eye like what Gin did.

He didn't know what Gin experience so he didn't have the right to judge him but he couldn't help it.

"Lovi?" Gin pointed at the boy's chest and said what he heard. When he saw the boy nodded, he understood that Lovi was the boy's name.

The two of them were inside the caravan of Gin. This was his personal caravan as he was the emperor of this empire. While the other one was for the slaves. All of them shared that one caravan.

The two studied for a few hours before Gin call it a day. The boy quickly left the caravan and went to the other one.

Days had passed quickly and Lovi continued to teach Gin how to read and write the common language of this world. He was starting to understand the conversation of the slaves.

Lovi wasn't that afraid of him but the sense of danger was still there. When you're beside a man who could kill people without batting an eye it's natural to be afraid of them. Especially if you don't know that person.

So Gin could understand him.

Also, he was promoted to level 1 in the past few days. He was now at the same level as Gul and Ton.

Wondering who's Gul and Ton?

Gul was the poison ghoul that Gin creates and Ton was the skeleton warrior. It was better for them to have a name than not.

Also, he didn't have a plan to increase the number of his units. If he did that, he will go back to being a level 0 even though he just promoted to level 1. At least, he wanted to enjoy the feeling of having a power in his body for a while.

He also learned the name of the other slaves from Lovi.

The young girl who was the same age as Lovi was called Rina. Rina was a small girl that has long blue hair and blue eyes.

Blue hair. As expected of another world. Different hair colors were natural in this world.

Then, the three grown men. His guess was right, the three of them were all level 1. He saw them hunt a level 1 monster through the shared perception of Ton. They were agile and powerful as they were beastman.

Their skills were higher than Gul but in terms of overall stats, they were weaker than Gul. Fighting ability was important in a fight. It was like a two men holding swords in their hands. One had a powerful physical strength and fast speed but the other one was weaker but he knew how to fight. He knew how to handle the sword more than the first man. The man that knew how to fight was going to win the battle unless there's a huge gap in strength and speed he would win.

Other than hunting. It seems that they didn't know anything. The slave trader must have planned to only focus on their fighting ability.

The oldest one among them was called Gardi. The second one was called Regie and lastly Fucci. He was the youngest one as he was only twenty-four years old.

Hmm...? Four years older than me. Gin thought while rubbing his chin.

Then, the five women. One of them was level 1 while the rest was just an ordinary person. They have a lot of skills compared to the men who only knew how to hunt monsters.

The slave trader really did a good job training them. They have knowledge about farming, cooking, sewing, etc.

"Let's wait for a while..." Gin muttered in a low voice.
