Chapter 21 - Locking the Returning Knowledge to Survive

Heron was about to pull a few of his hair strands. He was pointing his finger at his own wife in frustration.

He didn't realize that Ellie could hear it all.

Sob*

Inside the room, Ellie hugged his big brother tighter. She was just six years old and having her parents fight can be traumatizing.

That should've been the case but her brother that should be sleeping right now placed his arm around and whispered.

"It's okay, Father is just tired, he doesn't actually mean all of that. Mother understands that but just can't speak."

"Elihi?"

Her sobbing stopped as her head dived deeper onto Elihim's chest.

On the other hand, the big brother himself had his face twitching for a while.

'The real pain has just begun right now.' he breathed deeply, not trying to let Ellie know his pain even though he should've been on medication.

'My Karma is tied to them. Although I didn't have Crowned Karma nor Golden Karma when I came here, I still had a lot left. While I was unaware, they have used it up. Now that my memories are coming back, all those knowledge is coming in along with it too.'

Elihim had sharp eyes as he looked over his supposed little sister.

'If not for the remaining Karma, I would've died from the first dose of Connect. However, when I came to a realization, my Karma had been depleted and is already turning into Bad Karma. That should be the reason why we came back to poverty.'

'I need to find a way to stop this Connect, or else, I will die. In my state, it is impossible to Disconnect, however, I can solve this by archiving the knowledge the Progressor gave me. After all, I have to problem retaking the memories of from other worlds except the World of Progress.'

'But by archiving these memories, I may not be able to open them up again... of course, in my current state. Furthermore, I need to be forceful since the headache tomorrow will definitely be fatal. However, that will result in me unnecessarily locking other memories too.'

Coming to this dilemma, it didn't take Elihim a second to decide.

'Of course, I will pick life. These memories are useless to me. I can only use specific knowledge in those specific worlds and it's not like there's a way for me to come back there.'

Even under the massive pain that made the previous him scream and suffer, Elihim was able to laughed but in a melancholic sense.

'Additionally, I no longer have any ambition. That is why my Perfect Soul vanished as well. I have to cultivate my Soul from square one. Meanwhile, my Godhood vanished. I wonder what Elaisa is doing, is she taking taking the role I left her good? That shouldn't be it. Once I died in the World of Faith, she is definitely in another's possession.'

Elihim then looked outside the window and saw the moon.

'What about Feia? I still wonder what she learned for her to decide and kill me. But... I will follow her words. In this world, I will definitely rest. After these headaches and after I clear up my Karma in this family, I will leave and build a house somewhere... alone.'

'But I have to sleep first, tomorrow, I will try to archive all these knowledge so that the new ones will not make my brain explode.'

While Elihim was about to sleep, outside the room, the husband and wife had just finished fighting, not that Lyssa retaliated.

Heron stood there, looking at his silent wife. Before he said anything further, Heron chose to turned around and leave the scene.

He held his chest with a pained expression.

'I'm so useless, I'm so dumb, I'm so weak...' he thought in litany until he got out of the house.

'I hope Brius can give alcohol tonight. He's the only one who didn't push me aside for what I did.'

"Why can't no one understand me? I did it for my son. Why don't they try and put on my shoes?..."

His figure slowly faded into the darkness.

The wife he left just dropped to the ground. Lyssa didn't reply earlier but that doesn't mean she didn't want to say something.

"I didn't mean any of that..." she cried until midnight struck.

The next morning, when Elihim woke up and was in the middle of archiving his memories, there was a frantic knock on the door.

At first, Elihim didn't bother while Ellie was still soundly asleep.

"What!? Where-!?"

But when he heard Lyssa's cries, Elihim gently removed Ellie on top of him and ran downstairs to eavesdrop.

"I don't know where exactly but I just know that he's drunk and when I wake up, he's gone! I thought he's here that's why I rushed here."

"What? Then... then where could he have gone?"

Peeking from the stairs, Elihim saw Lyssa and Brius with worried faces. Just from that small exchange, Elihim already knew what happened.

"You are the only one I could go to Lyssa. I know that you and Heron aren't doing well but please think about his safety."

"What are you saying!?" Lyssa retaliated, "I should be the one saying that! Come on, we are the only ones that will search for him. If we don't, no one else will!"

Lyssa looked back first, thinking about leaving her children.

'No, they should wake up an hour later. I hope we get home by that time!'

She didn't notice anything different before running with Brius, shouting Heron's name.

Meanwhile, Elihim was already running in the opposite direction at full speed. However, he still had the body of a child and he wasn't that fast... until-

Imagi Stage 1: Puppeteering!

Just by imagining his feet moving faster, Elihim did. By using his imaginative powers, he is virtually using no energy in his body!

'The only problem is that my body couldn't handle such stress. But it's only for a short while.'

Elihim looked around and saw the tallest and nearest mountain.

'If you're looking for someone, it's better to get a high view.'

"Oh Heron, if I die today because I was late on archiving my memories, it's all your fault. But alas, I can't let you die too while I still had my Karma connected on you. There are pretty dangerous animals out there in the wood that a drunkard won't be able to fend off."
