"AHHHH--!"
in the Enova Family's residence by the lake, a horrifying scream disrupted their peaceful day.
"Elihi!?" Ellie panicked and was about to cry.
She didn't know what to do while her big brother lied on the ground, wriggling in pain. Elihim held his head as if he wanted to squish it to a pulp.
Soon as the echoes travel, Lyssa, followed by the house's Nana, came in a hurry and asked.
"What happened?!"
However, once she saw Elihim on the floor, crying in pain, she immediately ordered.
"Nana, please call Doctor Lennon immediately!"
Nana had no time to bow as she obeyed in haste.
Lyssa tried to carry Elihim. However, upon the first touch, nerves popped out followed by a more extreme shout from the boy himself. It was as if it was giving him great pain.
The mother breathed heavily while her eyes became blurry.
Meanwhile, after the initial shock, Ellie clutched onto her mother's clothes. They could do nothing but wait for help as they watched Elihim wriggle from intense torture.
His faces weren't showing expressions anymore. It was akin to just being stretched.
"W-what's happening to Elihi, Mommy!?" Ellie tearfully asked.
Lyssa could only hug the little girl to her bosom, covering Ellie's ears. She didn't know either and that is why she is petrified just like her daughter.
After a long time of listening to Elihim's wails and suffering, the door opened once more.
An aging man with a long white coat and thick glasses began to hurry upon hearing the pain screams.
"Excuse me, Mrs. Enova, let me have a look."
The sun was still up, though setting, that was why Heron was still not home.
After a while of checking using tools that Lyssa and the others were unfamiliar with, the aging man called Doctor Lennon heavily frowned.
Lyssa stayed silent while waiting for the doctor's explanation.
However,
"Sorry, but all I know is that Elihim is in intense pain." the doctor explained with an ashamed face.
"I have been studying medicine for more than 20 years so I assure you that this phenomenon is the first in history!"
Hearing this, Lyssa was speechless. Nana could only cover her mouth in shock while Ellie was too young to understand it.
Breaking the bad news, the doctor continued,
"But do not worry, Mrs. Enova. Although there are no evident symptoms, there are also no evident symptoms that the little boy is in great danger. We just have to feed him pain relievers then we could run some more thorough test."
Lyssa nodded with little motion.
After a dose of a sleep-inducing drug, Elihim fell asleep and was taken to his bed.
Doctor Lennon's assistants came, and by the time, he was about to explain what will happen next, Heron came home.
"I'm home, and Nana, whose rides were stationed at the front?"
Not ready for the horrible news, Nana led him to the room where the doctor and Lyssa were.
As the door opened, Heron saw all the equipment in his children's room. The first thing he did was to look at the bed and saw that Elihim was sleeping while Ellie laying beside him, quietly.
"What happened?"
"Good timing, Mr. Enova." Doctor Lennon greeted with a solemn expression, "I am just to discuss what we've found..."
Heron gulped and nodded and sat beside Lyssa. The two didn't even look at each other.
Doctor Lennon paid no heed to this detail as he deeply breathed first and began explaining.
"Even after extensive checking, we have found no peculiarities in your son's health. However, the reaction is real. It's as if he's cursed. Mr. and Mrs. Enova, since the Hyperobjection, this is no longer the normal world like what the ancient people had live in..."
The doctor coughed before cutting to the chase.
"Your son's disease lies not on the physical realm, but rather, on the imaginative realm."
Hearing this, Heron and Lyssa sipped in cold breaths.
"But do not lose hope, as the saying goes; The first realm is limitation and after it is imagination... Nothing is impossible, is what I wanted to say."
Seeing the couple's terrified expression, the doctor further consoled;
"As long as you have the strength to open your eyes, you have the strength reach the horizon."
Afterward, he gave prescriptions when the symptoms recurred again. Elihim will still be under examination and care until Heron and Lyssa find someone who can help them.
When the doctor left, the Enova's household was quiet as it can be. There were no shouting children that could liven up the mood.
Heron and Lyssa sat opposite to each other.
"They didn't know that we just found him somewhere else." Lyssa said under her breath which Heron frowned.
"What's that supposed to mean? Just because we aren't his real parents that we wouldn't try to find an appropriate Medicinal Imagi?"
"... that's not what I mean..." Lyssa glared at her husband.
"Then what?"
"We don't know Elihim's true origin. Do you think it's a coincidence?"
"Lyssa, please, let's not go back to that time."
"..." Lyssa just chose to shut up, as if giving up on explaining herself.
Meanwhile, a bead of tear came dropping from Heron's cheeks.
"We have to do it... no matter how expensive or hard it is."
Lyssa didn't say anything.
...
After that day, Heron went to Hramm City. His current job was the city's representative in their small village.
Ever since he got the attention, it was as if he spotted a pot of gold lying on his path. Even though he didn't have any ambitions, he kept climbing up.
Now, he finally amassed wealth that his parents-in-law began giving him attention as well.
That is why Heron would go to them and use this connection to get an Imagi from the Emeralkan, the Hramm City's Academy.
While Lyssa took care of Elihim and Ellie, Heron would meet her noble parents that had almost cut their connections with Lyssa herself.
'This is for Elihim. This is for Elihim...' Heron repeated in his head as he stepped down from his carriage.
