Four and a half years later...
"Elihi!"
In the dark attic, a four-year-old little girl shouted in amazement. In front of her, electricity was prettily sparking.
"It's amazing, right!?"
Behind these sparks, a five-year-old boy excitedly exclaimed. His fingers were softly pinching the air. Between those dainty tips, electric charges were being produced, creating light in the darkroom.
"Un!" the little girl widely nodded and continued.
"Elihi, how do you do that!?" she asked while the sparks of electricity were reflecting on her big clear eyes.
"I don't know, Ellie, I just think of it and it came out." the five-year-old boy answered as he released a small flame next.
"Just like how you can move things?" Ellie, the little girl adorably tilted her head.
"Yeah"
"Just like how you can change a ball to... umm... pointy?"
"Uh-huh"
"Elihi, teach me!" Ellie jolted forward and slammed the floor of the attic.
She almost got her messy long hair on fire if only the little boy who was called 'Elihi' didn't put the fire out, dimming the place.
"Eh... I already said I can't teach you what I don't know, right?"
Elihi, or rather, Elihim put up the flame again to see Ellie's pouting face.
"You always say that... but you always get new superpowers..."
Elihim's softened from seeing his little sister sad. He pinched her puffed cheeks and said, "Sorry, Ellie, but I don't really know how. But maybe in the future! If I learn it, I will teach it to you."
Ellie's face brightened up.
"You promise!?"
"Ye-"
But before Elihim could finish his word, the attic hatch opened, letting a bright light in.
Elihim immediately put out the flame from his fingers, however, it was already too late.
"Elihim, did you bring your little sister here to play with fire!?" Lyssa, their mother, shouted with a fierce voice.
Hearing their mother's angry shout, Ellie teared up and cried.
"Look at what you've done! You made your little sister cry!" the lines on Lyssa's pretty face thickened.
"Ellie, Elihim, come down here at once!"
"Waahh--! But it's not Elihi's fault!" Ellie cried. However, she still obeyed and slowly crawled towards her mother.
"If it's not your brother's fault, the who is!?"
"It's mommy's fault!"
"..." Lyssa then took the little girl and looked at Elihim, "Come here now!"
Elihim trembled.
He didn't like it when his mother gets angry. Slowly, he walked to her with a hunched back.
Lyssa huffed and took both of them down safely. Right after they came down, she immediately searched Elihim's whole body.
"Huh? Where are the matches? Don't tell me you already used them all?!" Lyssa made a shocked face and shook Elihim's shoulders.
"But mommy! Elihi doesn't need matches!" Ellie pulled her mother's arm.
"What? What is your brother using then?" Lyssa raised a brow.
"He... umm... superpowers!"
Ellie wildly waved her hands around, trying to show it.
"Like this and umm... that! Foo~ foo~"
However, not even Elihim knows what she's trying to do.
"Huh?" Lyssa paused before sighing.
She released Elihim and said, "Whatever it is, playing with fire is a big NO! If I ever see any of you two playing with it again, I will bring my slipper next time!"
"No, not the slippers!" Ellie cried and hugged Lyssa's thigh.
"Then don't play with fire again. If you make a mistake, it will spread and get bigger. It will burn the house and everyone."
Lyssa calmed herself down and lead the two towards a large dining room.
"So it will burn mommy?" Ellie asked as she climbed on one of the seats around the wooden dining table.
"Yes, it will burn mommy." Lyssa nonchalantly answered while preparing their afternoon snacks.
"It will burn nana too?"
"Yes, no one will clean the house for you."
"It will burn daddy too?"
"Yes, you will no longer have anything to eat."
"It will burn... Elihi too?" Ellie looked at Elihim. The latter had his head and shoulders downwards as he slowly sat on a chair opposite to his little sister.
"Yes, you will no longer have any big brother."
"Ah...!" hearing this, Ellie dropped down from her seat and ran towards her big brother, hugging him tightly, "Not Elihi!"
"Well, tell your big brother to stop playing with fire from now on."
"Elihi, stop your superpowers now, okay!?"
Ellie continuously shook her dispirited big brother.
"O-okay..." Elihim timidly answered.
Lyssa glanced at the two before placing two plates on the table.
Ellie looked at the plates and it was filled with cookies. Lyssa then placed down the glasses of milk, before she could react.
"Cookies and milk! Elihi, your favorite!" Ellie shouted before energetically climbing a seat beside Elihim.
"This child never gets tired..." Lyssa slowly shook her head.
The atmosphere of the household becomes normal again. The siblings began to run around the house that can almost be called a mansion.
Both of them shouted and loudly laughed at each otehr until the sun settled down. At that time, their father, Heron just came home.
"I'm back." he exhaustedly said while taking off the coat of his elegant suit and tie.
"Welcome back!" the two siblings greeted.
"Ahh! My little babies!" Heron dropped down on his knees to hug the two of them.
"Haa~! I'm getting filled with energy by my babies' huggies!"
Heron then looked straight forward to see his wife. However, Lyssa just turned her head around as if he doesn't exist.
"Dinner is ready." only her voice could be heard.
"Welcome home, Master." a lady who seemed to be nearing her late age greeted.
"Good evening, Nana. Is everything well here while I was out?"
"Well... nothing as usual... ah but I did hear that Madam caught Elihim playing with fire with Ellie in the attic."
"..." Heron frowned while the loud siblings stopped, hearing what happened earlier.
"I suppose nothing bad happened but did Lyssa do anything to Elihim?"
"I... just heard them, Master. But I don't think Madam did anything." the old maid called Nana bowed her head.
"Okay, thank you for telling me."
Heron then brought the two children to the dining area where Lyssa prepared the dinner.
The heavy atmosphere came back, however, the children themselves were oblivious to this. While eating, they were whispering and laughing at each other. Meanwhile, their parents were as quiet as they can be.
After that, it was time to sleep. Lyssa brought the two towards their room. She took a storybook from a neat bookshelf.
Heron, on the other hand, was too tired after a long day of work and immediately dropped unconscious on the bed.
Back to the children's room, when Lyssa sat on Ellie's bed, Ellie sat on her lap. Meanwhile, Elihim sat on his own bed.
Lyssa looked at him and stood up, carrying the book and Ellie with her.
Elihim twitched when his mother sat close beside him before wrapping her arm around his neck.
But before Lyssa proceeded to open the storybook, she asked.
"Okay, do you want a bedtime story or do you want to learn about the real world for mommy to be proud?"
She emotionlessly asked.
Elihim looked up at his mother's face before silently hugging her waist.
"The world..." he whispered which Ellie followed.
"The world!"
