Chapter 9 - S1 Chapter 9

They chatted for a while after which it was time for them to leave for their respective rooms.

Simon went ahead.

Emily was ready to leave when she remembered something.

"Kayden, give me your phone," she said.

"Huh?" Kayden asked confusedly.

"Just give me your phone," she repeated.

Kayden handed the phone to her. She took the phone and the scanned the QR code in her phone and then returned the phone to him.

"I have added my WeChat. Let's chat," she said.

He replied in affirmative. She then turned around and left to her room.

It was almost 8 PM.

Emily opened the door of her room, went in and then closed the door.

Her parents had brought dinner for her. So she didn't need to worry about dinner.

She went to the bathroom and had a refreshing bath.

After a while, she came out of the bath.

She, dressed in a bathrobe, was now rubbing her hair, dry, when she received a message in her WeChat.

It was Kayden. He had invited them to the PC café in the campus.

A light smile bloomed on her face. She picked up her phone and texted him back with a yes.

She put down the phone, changed into her pyjamas and jumped onto the bed with a thud.

She laid on the bed thinking about the friends she had made.

The more she thought, the more the thoughts of Kayden entered her mind.

She remembered the words he had told her before.

It was the first time someone had been so kind to her.

He seemed special to her.

He was kind, sacrificing, and gentle and the best friend she could get in her whole life.

After a lot of thinking, she fell asleep. On the other side, in Kayden's room, Kayden was deep in thoughts.

This was the first time he had ever interacted with a girl properly.

Back in school, anyone didn't want to become his friend as he was powerless that time.

But now there was someone who wanted to be his friend.

He had never known what friendship is all along.

So this time he wanted to experience friendship to its extreme.

Thinking about this, he slowly fell asleep.

His consciousness was soon pulled into a dream where beside him stood men and women of different origins.

This was the first time this had happened to him.

He went ahead and looked at the tall figures standing before him.

There were a total of thirty different people among whom some were tall, some were short, some were fair, some were black, etc.

But he wasn't able to see the faces of the first five people.

They were looking like shadows in different colours. He wondered what was going on.

Then suddenly a white ball of light appeared before him.

It said, "Hello, thirty first user of perfect mimicry. It's a pleasure to meet you. You must be wondering what is going on. Am I right? So let me explain to you clearly. You are now inside your own consciousness. As for why you are here, that's because of your quirk."

"Quirk?" he asked.

"That is what you call 'superpower'," the ball of light replied.

"What does this have to do with my quirk?" he added.

"Let me explain to you in detail. This quirk you have is called 'PERFECT MIMICRY'. It's one of the most powerful quirks. It's also called as 'ALL FOR ONE'. As its name suggests it can perfectly mimic any of the quirks you have ever seen in your life. Not only that, after some time you will be able to utilize all the quirks the previous users of perfect mimicry had seen. They will personally teach you how to use these quirks," the ball of light explained.

"You mean the people standing over there?" he asked pointing at the people standing in a straight line.

"Yes, they are the previous users of the quirk. They will personally tutor you during your sleep," the ball of light replied.

"Wait. This superpower was created during the nuclear reactor explosion, right? Then how are there previous users of the quirk if I was the first one to get it on earth?" Kayden asked.

"That, I cannot answer," the ball of light replied.

"But why can you not answer?" Kayden asked.

"That's because your level is very low right now," the ball of light replied.

"Then who are you?" Kayden asked.

"I am a personal guide for this quirk," the ball of light replied.

"That's new. I have never heard about a quirk guide and why would there be a guide for a quirk?" Kayden questioned.

"That question cannot be answered at your current level. How many annoying questions do you have? No more shall I listen to your questions. Now go back to your body and have good rest. See you tomorrow," the ball of light said as his consciousness was pulled back into his body.

The next day, in the early morning, Kayden woke up.

Kayden remembered what had happened in his dream.

But he didn't know if it was just a dream or reality.

He began to think about the questions entering his mind.

But he couldn't figure out the answers for any of them.

At that time he remembered that he had to go to the PC café with his friends.

So he got up from bed and ran towards the bathroom.

He took a quick bath, wore a black jacket on a white t-shirt and black trousers.

He headed out of his room, took the elevator and rushed down to the first floor.

There his friends were waiting for him.

Simon was dressed in a plain yellow shirt and black trousers.

Whereas Emily had worn a frilly pink dress, which was beautiful.

"Hey dude, you're late. Where were you all along? We have been waiting for you for almost an hour," asked Simon.

"Really? It took a while for me to bath. I'm so sorry," he replied.
