Chapter 8 - Untrustable (8

Chu Mal-Chin had previously scouted out the hidden dungeon area the night before as he had his teleport anchors, and he wasn't cruel enough to throw down a tied up woman down there as well.

So basically, Chu Mal-Chin was taking advantage of his S+ ranked body to its fullest.

"Hurry up." Samuel ushered him to walk faster.

"Oh stop being such a bore will you? Even that stone faced Andras is more amusing then you." Orchid clicked his tongue. Andras merely glanced at Orchid in disdain before turning away.

"You're pushing it, Orchid." Samuel narrowed his eyes.

"It's not my problem if you're mad. Don't forget we're all trying to get out of here alive." Orchid scoffed.

Samuel took a deep breath to regain his composure.

"You better hope you get out of here alive and well." Samuel added.

"I'd like to see you try fuck face." Orchid smirked beneath his mask, but his crescent eyes gave him away.

"How vulgar." Samuel disgustedly clicked his tongue.

"Shut up you two, there's a monster." Andras shushed the both of them. Immediately, they stopped in their tracks and looked around wearily.

Other then an occasional A+ rank, there weren't any serious dangers, if Andras shushed them, it was probably something important.

The faint sound of rustling leaves were heard around the trio, Samuel and Andras both grasped their swords while Orchid slid a card out of his pocket.

Suddenly, a vine shot out and grasped Samuel's wrist, Orchid immediately cut it in half with a flick of his wrist.

Without rest, multiple vines started growing from the ground and tried to grasp Orchid.

Using a fire attribute card, he easily scorched the ground near him, causing the vines to withdraw.

"Something isn't right." Andras's instinct was blaring alarms. "Something like this wouldn't have the presence of-"

A disgusting smell wafted towards the trio, Andras and Samuel only just wrinkled their nose in disgust, but Orchid gagged and hurriedly covered his nose.

It must have immediately distinguished the weakest of the group, as large vines sprouted from the bushes and grabbed ahold of Orchid.

"Urgh-!" Orchid gasped in pain as the large vine yanked him onto the ground and proceeded to drag him painfully towards a bush. Luckily, Andras flashed over and cut the thick vine holding him.

Without having any time for thanks, a large ugly starfish shaped head emerged from behind the trees. The smell must have originated from there as the waft in the air grew worse.

Samuel's eyes glowed as a brilliant yellow glow surrounded his sword. This must be his unique ability, Holy Swordsman.

Lunging forward, his sword clashed against the ugly flesh colored starfish. The head's thousands of small eyes glanced at Samuel, before vines quickly wrapped around his waist.

Clicking his tongue, Samuel slashed the vines that headed towards him. Andras and Orchid brought time by cutting the vines.

Andras sighed as his eyes faintly glowed dark red, the S class sword in his hands glowed even more brilliantly then Samuel's.

Orchid wanted to see Andras's unique ability in person, but the troublesome vines kept sprouting. If he was pushed any further then this, he might not have enough mana for his plan.

Just as he thought of the problem, a hot explosion happened near Andras. This was his unique ability, mana explosion.

Samuel slashed the vines around him once again before dashing towards the monster. His sword glowed brilliantly before it clashed onto the ugly star fish head.

Blinded by the sudden light, Chu Mal-Chin narrowed his eyes. When the light faded, half of the ugly star fish's was left.

Having been enraged by being gravely wounded, the starfish exerted more of its energy in the countless vines growing near them.

Another hot explosion was heard as now Andras appeared from the burning remains of the vines and flashed towards the starfish.

Just like Samuel, he slashed down his sword, cutting down the star fish mercilessly.

If Samuel's swordsmanship was light and deadly, Andras's was neat and straightforward.

After the main body died, the vines didn't have any more energy and shriveled up.

Andras frowned as he saw the light scratches on his hands.

"This gate's sealing power is definitely worse then I imagined." Samuel walked over the shriveled vines and cleaned his sword with a large leaf.

"If this gate is higher then S+, I wonder how we're going to defeat the boss." Orchid still seemed to be suffering from the horrible stench.

Although the seal on their bodies were weakening, it would still take some time for it to completely disappear. This was a problem as the guild members at base were too many mouths to feed in this smaller gate.

"Seeing how unique this gate is, I'm assuming the boss will be an animal, or a mental ability sort." Andras deduced.

Chu Mal-Chin stopped himself from shuddering. In the original novel, the ordinary boss was indeed a bigger version of an animal, something resembling a gorilla, zebra, and ape (or that's what Andras's description was).Andras's knowledge was scarily accurate.

"Mental ability related?" But before Chu Mal-Chin could stop himself, the question already flowed out of his mouth.

Andras's face filled with pity, while Samuel looked at him incredulously.

"Are you stupid? Do you have the mental capacity of a toddler?" Andras asked, his expression had changed from disdain towards a human being, to pity towards a stupid pet. It was easy to see the pity in his eyes.

"I-" Orchid tried to explain himself, but got cut off.

"A seal that can be placed on an SS rank and successfully seal them wouldn't be possible. It's more likely something is just affecting our mental state." Samuel joined in the conversation. "There are also successful abilities that block S rank gear, and those abilities are classified under the mental category.

{For clarification, shutter items don't work on SS ranked people ^_^}

"Did you not read the "Gifted and Gates Basics" book provided by the Supernatural Association?" Andras raised an eyebrow.

What the hell was that. Chu Mal-Chin definitely had no memory of reading whatever book that was, and it wasn't mentioned in Kalio.

Should he just lie? But then if they try to quiz him he'll get caught right away and it would be even more shameful then it needed to be.

Orchid slowly averted his gaze somewhere else, and Samuel and Andras sighed.

"Don't worry Orchid, we don't discriminate." Even Samuel looked at him in pity now.

"Stupid people are still kind of like people in my eyes." Andras nodded.

These bastards.
