"There was a new girl joining today." I started. "She's from London, so it's not like she doesn't have any manners. The boys were hoping that she would be prettier than me. It wasn't like she was ugly, she was really pretty, but it wasn't enough for them. So when they mentioned that I was prettier, she didn't know who it was and nobody spoke up to take the title of Tiger, so she started talking trash about me." I gripped the mug in my hands and stared at the floating marshmallows. "Bella spoke up for me, and the girl assumed that I was Bella, so she started insulting Bella."
Dad sighed, he thought he knew where it was going.
"You don't know what happened." I spoke before he could. " I got really pissed but Issac stopped me before I made a mistake. After I was about to walk away when she made a comment on how my . . . mother never taught me any manners and that she should be ashamed of herself for raising trash like me. After I lunged at her, Issac caught me and carried me to the council room where him, Bella, and I all fell asleep."
Dad stared at me for a moment, processing this. He just smiled.
"Your lucky Bella and Issac are straight A student's or losing an entire day of education would be a downfall on them." Dad sighed again and looked at me. "I know your sensitive to comments about your mom, and it was horrible the way we lost her. But you became the strong person you are today for her. Don't let you anger and clouded judgment get in the way of that. Okay kiddo?" Dad asked. "I also don't want you missing an entire day of school also. I would punish you but you have the school trip coming."
"Yeah sure," I said.
He rubbed my back and went to bed. He paused one the steps.
"Your mom would be so proud of you, you know that right?" He asked.
I nodded. "Yeah." I laid my head in my arms. "I know." He smiled and went up, he mumbled "Good night," to someone saying how their Mom knew they were staying the night. I thought it was Bella so when they stopped behind me and wrapped their arms around me, I was surprised to see Issac.
"Oh," I loosened my hold on his arms. "I thought you were Bella." He smiled.
"So you wouldn't have hugged me?" He stole my mug sat on a barstool.
"Nope," I said. He chuckled and sipped my hot chocolate.
When someone else wrapped their arms around my waist, I was so sure it was Bella, and I was wrong again to find Zack.
"Ooh, hot chocolate." He grabbed my mug from Issac and took a sip.
"Why is everyone drinking my hot chocolate? Where's Bella?" I asked when she didn't come down.
"Oh, she's asleep." Zack said. "She's not getting up until tomorrow."
"Great, there goes my sleepover." I groaned.
Issac feigned hurt. "Then what are we here for?" Zack threw his arm around Isaac's shoulder.
"We're just the leftovers for this tiger." Zack laughed. I shook my head.
"So what do we have tomorrow at school? I know two teachers are out and we can't get substitutes on such short notice." I mentally went through my schedule and planned out the cleaning.
"That cancels Math and Science, and we get excused from history for cleaning up the school. So we really only have english tomorrow. So we can just go to English, then get excused from history, and spend the rest of the day cleaning the school! Maybe we actually keep my promise to my dad." Issac concluded.
"I don't know how you two keep track these things. But I am for sure not looking forward to these things." Zack yawned grabbed my hand. He pulled me towards him and looked in the eye. "No partying. I'm serious, we got to get cleaning done tomorrow and you slept so much today that it's ridiculous."
He spun me around and went upstairs.
Issac turned to me. "How's your cut?"
I touched it unconsciously and flinched.
"It's healing just fine." I lied through my teeth.
"Nice try." Issac said and left to go grab the first aid kit.
I groaned. This is why I hate growing up with people that know you so well. They can see through your lies. Issac came back and sat next to me. He waved my arm towards him and I shook my head.
"I'll do it, go to sleep." I reached for the kit but he slid it out of reach. I glared and reached over him and he moved closer. "Dude, I need to take my shirt off."
He remembered and nodded. "I'll get Zack since Bella's asleep." I smiled.
"Thanks." Issac slid the kit back and went upstairs to get Zack.
I sighed with relief and lifted my shirt. I could see the slash, but it stung like hundreds of bee stingers. Zack came down stairs and looked at the bandage.
"Oh, it's bleeding again." He came over and sat next to me. "You know you could always beat people up while not getting yourself hurt in the process." He slowly tore the bandage off, and breathed in. "How deep was the cut before?"
I tried to shrug but the cut stung too bad. "I dunno. Bella treated it the first time. Nobody's touched since we got home. Is it bad?" Zack shook his head. He cleaned it with a wet, warm towel and dried it. He had me lean to the side to he place a new bandage one and paused.
"You know, maybe you should just ask Principal Ark to keep out group at five." He placed the bandage down and grab the tape.
"But then there would be a group of seven and we have room rented for a certain amount of people." I said. He taped the bandage and pulled my shirt down.
"Alex can't go." Zack said.
Alex was Livia's older brother. He and Zack used to be friends but when Livia started "Snuberty", Zack and Alex kinda just, stopped talking. It was kind of weird for them to still hang out when their sisters were at each other's throats all the time. It surprised me that they still spoke but it didn't bother me.
I grinned. "Then we'll just have to wait and see." He smiled and we both stood up and went upstairs.
"Night Tiger." He kissed my head and went to his room.
"You'd be a great dad!" I called after him.
"Were both not having kids!" He answered.
I laughed and said "Darn right." I went into my room where a sleeping Bella was snoring. I chuckled affectionately. I layed down and closed my eyes.
