I dreamt that we were back at school the next day, all having a good time, cleaning up our school, making it beautiful again when this huge tidal wave came over the school and swallowed everyone, then it went black. Thoughts of what Hannah said today swam through the dark.
"Your mother should be ashamed of herself!"
"Raising trash like you!"
Then my mother's voice filtered through the dark.
"Tiger's like you don't always have to be alone . . . Tiger Lily."
My eyes shot open. It was still dark out. I looked at my clock. It read 2:47. I needed to sleep but I couldn't. I got up and checked on Bella. She was sound asleep. I pulled on some Jeans and a sweater. I pulled my hair into a braid and went for walk.
The streets were empty except for the occasional car driving by. I walked for a while and ended up in the park. I sat on a bench and breathed out. I could see my breath and leaned back as it faded away.
A cat walked out of bush and startled me. It seemed pretty cute. Healthy, seemed to have a collar, but ti was so dark I couldn't tell. The cat sat in the middle of the sidewalk like an omen. I sighed.
"It's been a short day. The same routine, the same people with the exception of Hannah. The same everything." I was talking to the cat. Don't judge me.
"This trip will be something new for the first time in a long time." I looked at the cat, then up at the stars. "I wish there was more adventure in my life. More things to do. Mom would make something exciting happen." The stars seemed to twinkle and flash.
Blood flashed through my mind simultaneously. I shook my head to erase the memories. I sighed and looked back down at the cat. But it was gone. I was silent for a moment.
The I laughed. "That wasn't creepy!" I jumped up and yawned. "I probably just imagined it." I walked back home and undressed. I threw myself in bed and closed my eyes once more.
~Time Skip~
"Tig." Someone shook my shoulder and backed away from the bed, waiting for me to hit them. "It's time to get up."
I growled and threw something in their direction. I heard my pillow collide with something and threw the blankets over my head.
"If you want to die, your heading in the right direction."
"I could always eat you chocolate chip pancakes, that is, if you don't want them." I heard Zack laugh and someone yanked the blankets off of me.
I glared up at Bella who was still in her pajamas.
"Touch my pancakes, and I will-" she threw the blankets back over my head.
"C'mon, or they're gonna get cold." Her footsteps retreated to my bathroom. I sat up and yawned. I rubbed my head checked the clock. It said 6:31.
"Ugh,"I groaned. Only four hours of sleep after that.
I stood up and stretched. I walked out of my room and collided with a shirtless Zack who had a toothbrush in his mouth. He gave me a muffled "Good morning" that sounded kinda like "gouf murmen".
I shoved him and walked towards the stairs. "Your lucky I speak moron or I wouldn't have understood what you said."
I slid down the stair railing and landed in the kitchen. Dad placed a plate in front of me with four chocolaty pancakes covered in chocolate syrup. Issac was eating regular pancakes drowned in regular syrup. He looked at my plate.
"That's seven bars worth of chocolate." he said.
"Oh your right," I said and looked down at my plate. Then I grinned. "It's not enough."
Dad and Issac looked at each other and rolled their eyes. Issac's dark brown hair was ruffled, looking like a school playboy. He never does his hair like that.
I sat down and someone's hands covered my eyes. I knew they couldn't say anything or i'd immediately guess who it was so I breathed in deeply. There was chocolate, butter and cologne. I could smell perfume but what was behind me had a scent of mint. Like someone who used toothpaste.
"Hi Zack." I said. I lifted his hands and dug into my pancakes.
"How does she do that?" Issac asked Dad.
Dad shrugged and handed Zack a plate of regular pancakes. He sat down next to me and started eating. I was on my last pancake when the doorbell rang. Bella came from the stairs dressed and ready to go. Her hair was split 3/4 of the way. Zack had brushed his hands through his hair. Everyone looked a lot nicer than usual.
"I got it." She went to go get the door and I shoved my last pancake in my mouth. I passed my dish to Dad and went upstairs to get ready. I tugged my cozy pajamas off and the cold air hit my back. I yelped a little and breathed.
I button my shirt on and pulled on my uniform jacket. When we first applied to Willow high, I was expecting the uniform to be green. But it was black. A black plaid skirt with a white button shirt and black plaid tie with a black jacket with the school logo on it.
I brush my hair and looked in the mirror. My hazel eyes matched nicely with my black hair. I sat down at my desk and my hair rest on the floor.
I lifted it and studied it, it's been growing it for a long time. I grabbed a hair tie and a black bow. I lifted half of it underneath my hands from the bottom and tied it there. Then a grabbed the bow and tied it through the loop.
"Tiger, have you seen my-" Bella started when she walked into the room but stopped when she saw me. She dropped her bag and started squealing.
"Ahhh, Tig, you look so cute!!!" She came over and straightened the bow from the back. "You never tie your hair up."
"Yeah, it was starting to touch the floor when I sat so I'll start doing it like this for a while." I said.
"Why don't you just cut it?" A voice said from the doorway.
Bella and I turned to Dad leaning against my dresser. Bella breathed in and let it out for a little while I just stared at my dad.
"Yeah I don't think that a good idea Mr. Azrail." I nodded my head in agreement.
"I know Mom started it out for you, but it doesn't have to stay so long. Actual tigers don't have long hair you know." Dad said.
"But they are really protective of their young!" Principal Ark popped his head around Dad.
