Chapter 51 - Ancient Blood

Thomas laid his eyes upon Luccas, then his body froze. Ever since the incident in the Selection, Luccas vanished and there has been no sign of him. Thomas' vision slowly swept his surroundings. 'Those men behind Luccas didn't look like to be members of the organization, their armor and guns were a bit too expensive. They must belong to the Kyle Group.'

Thomas thought back to the memories of that man, Gazzel. He didn't have much information about the internal structure of the organization he was part of, only that it operated since the establishment of the colonies in mars.

However, Gazzel knew about It's mysterious founder as well as fact they had a powerful backer behind them. Seeing Luccas down here made him believe the Kyle Group and the organization must have some sort of partnership.

"Luccas? It doesn't look like he's here to talk about the old days." Clarisse whispered so only Thomas could hear her voice. As somebody knew since childhood and a classmate, it was obvious Clarisse had known Luccas as well.

A dark red fire-shaped mark appeared on the surface of her eyes as an mysterious power manifested when her eyes locked on the group of armed men behind him.

He didn't know why but there was something different about the Luccas in front of him, it was an sensation similar to when he first met the 'Flame Empress'.

"Wait." Thomas pulled her by the sleeve then blocked the incoming attack with his own blade.

Pa! Creak!

For a second, he felt his weapon hitting something then breaking as he took a few steps back. With the fragmented pieces of his blade falling on the ground.

"Hey, that blade was an gift!" Thomas cursed while staring at his precious adept weapon which costs more than a hundred thousand.

Ten feet away was Luccas holding onto a single gray-colored sword covered in golden veins.

"Hehe, who would have thought the heavens would favor me this much. I won't forget what you did that day!" Luccas gave a crazed scream as his eyes were lit in a cyan glow.

The light sword in his hand enwrapped itself in the same cyan glow as the wind slowly revolved around his body.

'What energy is this?!' Thomas was stunned when he realized that the cyan glow didn't belong to Luccas' Vitality Attribute Anima Energy.

"Is the rematch that you want? Then come and get it!" From the looks of it, Luccas may have done something to gain this new power that didn't feel much weaker than himself in his Partial Demon form. Right now the only thing he had is his other skills and his anima energy, still he wasn't going to cower.

Deploying the Adept Training Manual Katherine had thaugh him, the Thirty-five Mystic Rotations, Thomas felt all the nine hundred points of anima energy bursting inside his body.

"Clarisse, can you deal with the other seven? Luccas and I have some personal matters to deal with."

"Sure, just leave it to me."

"Fine." Thomas gave a quick look at the strange sword Luccas held in his hand. It didn't seem to be made of pure aluminum and neither the special alloy used in the convection of most adept weapons.

"There is!"

Suddenly, Luccas shouted loudly and dashed forward at a mighty speed towards Thomas, leaving a trail of cyan light.

His sword was almost invisible as it swung down onto his Thomas' neck.

"You underestimated me!"

Activating two of his skills, Thomas predicted the trajectory of the sword while gathering some of his energy around the tip of Luccas' sword.

Giving just enough time for him to bend his head to one side, and lean his body forward before he moved to the left.

Behind him, he could already hear the explosions and waves of fire from her Clarisse's side.

Thomas could already see she had changed into her alter ego and was battling the seven men Luccas brought with him.

Thomas' speed was so fast that it was his current physical limit, pushing his skills any more could cause some serious injuries. In the blink of an eye, his feet had already hit the Luccas in the stomach, increasing the distance between the both of them.

Rapidly closing in onto Luccas, his hand flashed with a bloody red light as it flashed out like lightning towards him.

By casting the Titan God's Hand in His Own Hand, Thomas Palm gained an incredible attack power that won't lose the battle power of an Elite Adept.

"So it was this." Contrary to his expectations, Luccas didn't seem to worry about the palm coming at him. Instead, his eyes were focused on the crimson glow around Thomas hand which was inherent to the Anima Energy's Strength Attribute.

Luccas waved his hand and formed dozens of cyan colored runic patterns in the air.

Suddenly a incredibly strong wind blew again Thomas who was taken by surprise since it wasn't an anima thechnique that had been used by something else.

His palm which was only a few centimeters away, could only get more and more distant as his body was shot backwards.

Thomas used his skill once more to form a huge hand to catch himself in the air then bring him to the ground.

Some distance away, Luccas swept away the blood on his lips and had a smirk on his face. "Dad was right, you are not normal..."

Thomas who just landed on the ground was confused when the face of that old miser appeared on his mind. Why should his dad know anything about himself.

"But so you know, I'm not weak anymore."

Then right before his very eyes, a dense cyan mist gathered around Luccas. His blond hair turned cyan, his ears grew long and sharp as an elf. Scales of different sizes appeared on the surface of his skin giving a more monstrous look.

Inside a majestic palace, far, far away. Thousands and Thousands of luminous figures were spread all over the immense halls, together they all watched everything through a crystal screen in the sky.

Among those figures, there were some of which Thomas would find very familiar. At one table was an old man with gray hair and white robes hiding what looked to be snake bites all over his body was seating at the very center. At his left was a handsome middle-aged man with a trident-shaped mark on his forehead and at right a mysterious-looking man with his body body covered in tattoos.

"Our kid may be very special, but the other kid isn't normal as well. I can feel his lineage isn't not any weaker than ours." Zeus, the Olympian God of the Sky was watching all the events happening in the present with a thoughtful expression.

"Maybe even stronger." A female deity of the Galaxy of Andromeda suggested. "We must remember that despite our position as gods, we are the weakest of our kind. There's still two more layers in this space, the remnant through of the deities there are beyond anything we can imagine. This boy's ancestors are much older than we are. So only those living up there would know those ancient races."

"Right." No matter which race species where they, all the deities agreed with this. As gods of the mortal world, they still paled in comparison to the ones up there.
