Thomas didn't know for how long they fell until his feet finally touched the ground. Releasing his grip on Clarisse, Thomas went to look around at his surroundings.
[The presence of the sun and moon hasn't been detected. The user's demonic energy and physique will be unavailable.]
The first time he saw this message, Thomas couldn't say he was surprised but he still felt some discomfort over not being able to use his demonic power.
"Aiya, I wasn't expecting that." Clarisse, shrugged off the dust of her clothes when she realized Thomas was simply staring at the walls with a strange look on his face. Then it was her turn to be stunned by the ancient structure before her eyes. "Wow, I didn't thought there could be such an structure below the city. Thomas, who do you think has built this?"
"This..." Thomas observed the narrow corridor which divided into hundreds of passages. The light in the maze was mild and the walls were made of some unknown stone which Thomas had never seen before the inscriptions in ancient Greek forming the word 'Λαβύρινθος' in both the walls and stone ceiling only made him more certain of his guess of him once the system translated the word for him.
[Dike wants to speak with you.]
[Dike wants to speak with you.]
[Dike wants to speak with you.]
Countless notifications appeared before his eyes as Thomas drew a few steps back. It's the first time he had seen this type of notification, yet the yellow chain's voice soon explained. A deity which who he had accept a quest could contact him anytime as long the quest in active, while other deities he has some affinity with will have pass through his permissions in order to talk with him.
'Accept request.'
[Dike: Child, you shouldn't have come down here. It's been so many years since this place has been used, the monsters down here must be a lot stronger.]
Thomas kept a solemn face as he replied with his mind. 'I don't care. My cousin is stuck down here and I can't leave him here."
[Dike: Then you must be careful. Most of your skills won't work all that well in a place like this, but should you need to leave, my eyes can help find a way out. Also, I will give you need this.]
Instead of giving him any sort of skill, Dike transferred loads of knowledge about the labyrinth directly into his mind.
Only then did he realize the true size of this place. Unlike what was in the ancient greek legends, the great labyrinth was a LOT bigger than they could even imagine. Extending all the way from Gaia, mars to earth via a special type of formation connecting the two underground worlds together. From here, you could find passages that could lead to almost everywhere in both earth and mars.
Clarisse had also recognized the words on the ways which Thomas was staring at were in greek which then made her even more confused. Thomas immediately took clarisse with him and moved from the place from where they got in without explaining anything.
They wandered the corridors for hours but didn't found any trace of Rodrigar and the other students or teachers of the institute. After turning to the left and following another passage, Thomas stopped and clarisse who followed right behind nearly bumped into him
Clarisse turned to thomas, startled by his sudden stop when her eyes caught sight of something moving in the distance.
"Shhh." Thomas made a sign with his hand, telling to be silent. Soon, a tall humanoid form dressed in black and white military clothes was seen walking to another passage, holding onto what looked like a weapon.
"What was that?"
"We have finally found somebody here. Come, let's see where it's going."
They both followed the tall person thought the labyrinth, this was something Thomas had to be extra careful in order to not end in the middle of the atlantic ocean by steping in in the wrong place.
Thomas didn't know for how long they had walked when a large field was presented before them, from where they could see hundreds of huge and small objects from afar.
'Wha...'
Buildings, Statues, some of which seemed a bit to old to be here like the front half of a norse longboat. Among all those ruins, a tall building caught Thomas' eyes. He kept staring for a couple seconds.
"We have found it." Clarisse also recognized the main building of Dexia Institute right before them.
The previous imposing and modern building was torn down and filled with holes, but thought his senses, Thomas couldn't detect any sign of life across the many ruins.
Suddenly, both Thomas and Clarisse heads several steps sounding in the distance together with a round of applause.
"Very well, I didn't thought you would find this place." That man dressed in a black and white cloak walked forward, accompanied by armored-men holding numbers onto varied types of guns aimed at them.
Thomas face was a mixture between unbelief and angry, other than him Clarisse also recognized the owner of the voice. Together, they muttered. "Luccas?!"
