After wandering for a little while, Thomas met over five lycanthropes with yellow eyes in different locations but no blue-eyes minion which was strange. While he was sweeping away every single Lycan he found on the way, the sounds of battle were getting closer.
However just as he was about to continue on his path, he stopped. On the left of his position, there were loud running sounds.
A small group of three people were running away from one, two... four yellow-eyed Lycans. Looking closer, the three people didn't look to be much older than his age and were ordinary workers giving their outfit.
"They don't seem to have noticed me in this fog." Seeing neither the civilians or monsters noticed his presence, Thomas acted quick. Many years ago when the lycans first appeared, over three states of Brazil were wiped out due to the number of minions they had on their side. Now after many years and the advancement of Anima technology and Adepts, they were much better prepared.
Facing a few yellow-eyes lycans he was now sure they weren't that strong. In terms of battle power, they could rival a peak 1-star adept, the only problem was their ability to turn ordinary humans into minions.
As the four large lycans chased the three civilians, one of them suddenly pulled the lycan on its left with him moments before a humanoid figure appeared out of thin air blocking their way forward.
The large crimson knife stabbed hard in the face of the closest Lycan in his range before moving onto the second.
At the same time, a large red-colored energy hand popped up right next to the two lycans that were out of his knife's range.
The blade which was accurately stabbed between its eyes, pierced everything from its spike-like fur, hard skin, the complexly formed muscle.
The other two beast which were taken by the Titan God's Hand tightened its grip, they whole bodies flinched as the flesh which strangely tightened to resist the hand's immense strength and the bone which developed to be stronger than steel were smashed into meat paste.
"What!"
"The monsters, One man is fighting them!"
"He did it! He killed one of them in just one hit. "
At almost the same time as Thomas appeared, the three civilians had a vacant look on their faces before they lit up. They could clearly see from the battle suit in crimson details and military-level wrist computer that it was an adept in front of them. Just this was more than enough disperse some of their fear.
While storing back his knife, Thomas landed on the ground. All the four Lycans were killed in less than a minute. Anyway, it was fortunate that other people weren't in danger now.
"Step back."
Thomas warned shortly while looking back. After spreading his senses across the street, Thomas lowered his guard once seeing there was only them on that street while still maintaining some attention on the three people he just saved.
Once their saw that the civilians, one girl and two guys immediately approached him, but Thomas couldn't see any emotion in their eyes like fear, which was strange considering what their just experienced.
"Hey, th ...." One of the guys waved his hand at him, but when they were about one meter away from him Thomas felt his entire body turn ice-cold.
Thomas narrowed his eyes when seeing a thin line of blood on the back of his sleeve.
Whoosh! Thomas swiftly sidestepped and let a wave of energy brush past him. At the same time, he wrapped his arms around the nearest male, to his surprised the civilian's both eyes were bright blue.
Seeing his actions of him, the girl and boy that were with him howled loudly before their eyes changed colors as well.
"Only a minion can pretend to be human as well?" This came as a surprise to Thomas. The yellow pupils were a proof they weren't formerly humans, but Thomas really didn't know they had the ability to look like one.
He then tightened his grip while the body in his hand expanded, a dense fur was growing at a visible rate as the whole musculature of the man changed into something else.
"What should I do?" For the time in a while Thomas felt hesitant. Seeing all the three turn into blue-eyes Lycans, Thomas knew he didn't want to kill them.
He knew once a human was turned into a minion, they would lose their sense of self and while the memories would remain they had no control of their actions, so was it right to kill them?
"Wait ..." While holding one of them by the head, the other two, already finished their transformation yet their didn't attack.
Their stood on the spot and only walked in circles around Thomas. It was quite similar to how wolves would encircle their prey.
"System Store."
Opening the system store, Thomas browsed thought the items on the F-rank and D-rank stores before finding what he wanted.
[Curse Dispeling Scroll: Upon use, it dispel any curse under the mortal-level curse.
Price: 86,000]
Wow! Since he went up a rank, the F-rank system store was a lot cheaper than before. He wasn't sure how powerful was the thing that transformed those three into minion, but as a item from the system it should prove useful.
However there wasn't enough time for it to completed its transformation as he smashed its head onto the ground driving it unconscious.
His hands then revealed a dark yellow piece of paper, strings of an unknown aura surrounded the man, the beastly thigh he had turned into eased its expression.
In a few seconds, a shirtless young male was sleeping on the ground.
Waving his hand, purple mist rose from bellow and climbed the other two Lycans that Holwed, their didn't know hot the purple-eyed human got to revert their brother into human and so they were cautious.
Just like the Sunlight demonic energy was incredibly fiery and warm like the sun, The Moonshadow was cold as ice.
Once those two were touched by the purple mist, the two Lycans felt their bodies slow down just giving enough time for Thomas to press the two yellow papers on their chest.
Staring at the three people whose clothes were in tatters, Thomas after took off his shirt he wore with his battle suit and covered the young lady.
As the three of them were all unconscious, Thomas used his anima energy to levitate them in the air and he brought them with him as he walked.
While he was following the path towards the source of the battle, he couldn't spot a single person other than the three he saved. When he was just a few blocks away, someone shouted at Thomas.
"Who goes there?"
Thomas quickly raised his head. He saw a soldier wielding Anima Hand Blaster.
"Stop! Why are you coming out from there, are you one of them?! I thought all the civilians were taken to safety?" The expression of the soldier was serious as it eyes Thomas from afar. The soldier approached closer, but then, he spotted the crimson battle suit and knife. Behind Thomas were also the three people he saved being carried by his anima energy.
The dark expression of the soldier's lightened up in an instant. "Mister you are an Adept right? Thank god we found another one. I was thinking it was too dangerous having that young miss fight that monster by herself."
