Immediately after saving him, the astonishingly beautiful woman swiftly turned around and walked away graciously while leaving Thomas gawking.
"Oh.... I totally forgot to ask her name." Only when she was already out of sight did Thomas recovered from his dazed state as he slapped himself on the face. "Oh, well. , I must get stronger to find my father and brother, there is no time to wait on women."
After parting from the other adepts, Thomas gave his mother a phone call and told her about his day. That when he arrived at the rift, the alpha was already hurt and that he didn't even have to act.
Before long, Thomas arrived at his home. He found the key and entered the premises. It was already dark outside. Once inside, Thomas he saw his mom on the couch with a few bottles of empty wine all over the table. Her eyes were closed and it didn't look like she would wake up any time soon.
'This again.... Giving today's date, I guess I can't really blame her.'
Sighing to himself, Thomas went to the bathroom on the second floor. Ten minutes later he got downstairs and gently took his mom on his arms back to her own bed.
When he went to the kitchen, he found a bowl of pasta on bolognese sauce.
The piece of paper, a memo from her, contained a bunch of cutely written words.

'Mom must've prepared this even though she was busy with work.
Thomas has a grin on his face as settled down to eat. Later when Thomas went to his own room, he recalled there was something he wanted to confirm first before doing that.

It has been the first time he opened the Character sheet since the incident with the 3-star yellow beast in the Adept Selection. Everything looked almost the same with the exception of the the Bound Soul Armament list.
He knew that today had been a long one. Even after fighting the 3-star beast and the lycans a few days later, there wasn't a single change in his stats. Unlike a game he couldn't level up while killing monsters and not all souls could be absorbed like demon souls.
'Perhaps I should focus a little of my time on some physical exercises…'
Early in the morning, Thomas' mother had just exited bath and went to kitchen.
Leaving his breakfast ready, his mom slowly stepped out of the house while silently closing the front door as she was about to leave for work when....
"Er.. Mom? Going to work now?"
"Eh?"
She was taken by surprise when a voice came from the street, and she quickly turned around to look. And she saw Thomas in a tracksuit and athletic shoes jogging towards her.
The woman's eyes opened up real wide in shock. "Son? I thought you were asleep."
"I got to wake up early today, so I decided to go out on a walk."
"Uh…. Sure. I left your breakfast in the fridge."
"Thanks mom." Giving his mom a swift hug Thomas went into the house. Jade Ries watched her son's back as he entered the apartment and tilted her head.
"He's really changed. Doesn't his face become a bit shaper and his shoulder broader?"
When he got home, Thomas had some time to himself before he received Katherine text.
[Thomas, our team is having a meeting 14:30 today. Let me send you the address...]
"There is a long time before the meeting should I do something? Ahh... I remember I got a new memory pass." For a instant Thomas froze, having a memory pass was great but he was still a bit afraid of more traumatic experiences like with Prometheus.
"I should wait a little before using a memory pass again, then what about the store?"
Now that he unlocked the E-rank store, there were a dozen thousand more products than before. From all sorts of equipment to pills, potions, scrolls.... Upon stopping at the fifth page Thomas stumbled onto something.

Almost immediately images of what he saw as magic appeared in his mind. He searched the entire F-rank store and there were no more than 3 similar books.
The price was astounding. Surely the most expensive book he had ever seen, he could but two elixires with this money. Then again, a book about magic coming from the system couldn't possibly be fake, right?
Still unlike the other products, this one didn't even have a description of its effects.
As it felt his thoughts the system spoke in his mind.

"..... I'll buy it." After deciding to buy the magic book anyway, a mysterious and ancient-looking book with a white cover surged in the air.
After receiving the book, he went to the study while bringing a bowl of cookies with him...
