[Daniel's Point of View]
I know they are all confused by what the man who owns that voice said, but for me, everything is clear.
It's just that their minds can't really process it right away and they just can't accept it.
He already has control of our lives, every hour that passes, a lot might happen. One wrong move and we'll die. But doesn't it seem like everyone is going to die anyway?
It all started with that game we played. It was just a simple online game, but now we are the ones being played and our lives really depend on it.
I choose to say nothing despite hearing their opinions. I haven't think anything with all this happening. And honestly, it feels really empty inside, I don't know what I should feel towards the certain situation we're in.
I feel scared knowing that we'll be slowly eliminated by whoever that person is. But again, we are all going to die, it's just that nobody wants to die first.
I usually don't really tend to show what my emotions are. I don't like that, I don't want them to know me easily because of the actions I show.
I am currently staring at them, they still look like a mess. As instructed, we are now in the school clinic and this will serve as a room for all of us until this so called game ends.
This clinic is spacious, there are 15 beds so it can fit us all here. Funny thing, there were clothes and other belongings placed in each of our beds, and all of those are exactly fourteen for two weeks.
Given with this fact, I can obviously say that everything is planned, starting with our 2 week semester break tomorrow on Monday, and we will also be stuck here for that long. It's not just a mere coincidence.
"Don't you have any plans to speak out there?" Clark sarcastically broke the silence. He was just next to my bed so I could openly hear him.
I released a deep sigh.
I know what will happen next. Knowing Clark with his attitude, he always tends to start an argument. I suddenly remembered what Sierra said when we were at Kean's house.
The moment Sierra said that Clark is a bossy person, I couldn't disagree anymore.
"You really are all cowards" He said and then stood up and kicked the foot of his bed.
We are not a coward, we just want to think carefully first, before making an action. Think more, less action.
Sometimes, there is this thought of me that Clark is one of the stupidest people I've ever met. He always implements action rather than thought. People should always put their minds on every actions they'll make, and it will never lead them to a negative outcomes.
"What's really going on in that fucking game?!" Its noise echoed throughout the room. He then walked in Kean's direction and I could see the fear in his eyes.
He was about to punch Kean when Dexter suddenly intercepted.
"Calm yourself down Clark, your anger won't help" he calmly said. Clark who was rage slowly took a deep breath and gradually calmed himself.
Dexter is really good at calming people. Even when we weren't in this situation, he was always who mediates whenever there was a fight going on. No one disobeyed him when he intervened.
"This is all your fault, asshole! Tell us what you know about that game!"
"I-I don't know, I just downloaded that game" Kean replied and he kept shaking.
He's not telling something, I can sense it. Just by looking at his eyes, I can tell that he's hiding something.
When will people realize that asking someone a question is not enough? It's not like they will always tell us the truth. We can't read minds and we'll never know what the truth is. It's up for us to find out.
"Maybe you're the traitor he's referring to?" Clark insisted again so Kean just shook his head.
"Stop the nonsense Clark, we can't just put the blame on him. We must find evidences first, before pointing someone out" Nicole interrupted as she was currently lying on her bed and just intently staring at the white ceiling.
I know a lot of thoughts are running through her mind, knowing her IQ, she will never just utter a word without thinking.
"You're feeling smart again, you are all bullshit" Clark said and finally left the room.
I heard a series of sighs when he finally stepped out of the room.
[Lexie's Point of View]
I opened my eyes when I heard someone crying.
I saw Alliyah crying next to me while her eyes was still closed. I immediately approached her to wake her up.
"A-alliyah, wake up, you're just dreaming" I said and then I gently started shaking her shoulder.
I also felt that everyone is starting to wake up and approached where we were.
After a while, Alliyah woke up and hugged me directly.
"W-What day is it? I-I don't want to be here, I-I want to go home. I-I'm so scared" She said to me while sobbing. "Shhh... everything will be fine" I did nothing but pat her back.
Few seconds after, Alexis sat next to me and helped me calm Alliyah down. "Shh...go ahead, just cry Alliyah, but don't be afraid, we're just here" even though she tries to calm Alliyah down, I could still see that she was about to cry too.
Just yesterday, I also see Alexis still in tears because of what happened. But now, she is calming down someone.
Honestly, we really feel out of place. They are really the only ten who are friends and close with each other, we are the only four who are really together.
I also didn't really know that because of that game, we would end up in this kind of situation.
"Shh…calm down, it's only Monday now, the game won't start yet" Xander also sighed while Clay also pats Lexie's back.
That's right, it's only Monday now. He says the game will not start yet because someone died already before it officially starts.
But I don't know if we should rejoice because of that. Nothing funny that someone died and even more nothing funny that starting tomorrow, we'll never know if someone will die again.
"We are all dying, so what's the point of crying?" Clark suddenly interrupted, so I give him a glare. "Whoa, calm my dear Lexie" He laughed so I glared at him even more. "That rhymes, actually" Clark is really the one I hate the most in their group, I no longer wonder if they are all against him.
"Stop it, you're not helping" Alexis insisted so I smiled sparingly at her.
I can't blame Alliyah if she feels like this, maybe all of us here want to cry, the others just pretend to be strong and don't want to show that they are also afraid.
"Shhh... Alliyah, everything will be okay"
I hope so. Hopefully everything will be okay.
[Keisha's Point of View]
I am that person who always sees the beautiful in chaos. For me, no matter how chaotic the situation is, if you just open your eyes, you'll see the bright side behind it.
But right now, I couldn't let out my optimistic side. For now, I see no reason why this is happening to all of us.
We decided to get everyone closer to talk about what to do for tomorrow.
"What should we do for tomorrow?" Shane's opening question. "Start a gossip, so we can find out" Clark sarcastically responded so before they even start a fight, I immediately stopped them.
"Stop it already, Clark, Shane" I made a serious tone and they kept quiet. "Don't you know that the fights that are forming between us won't help? Come on guys, we're friends here" I continued. "Tss" I heard Clark's response and Shane rolled her eyes at him.
I really hate seeing them arguing with each other, the more we argue, the more we can't think of the right solution.
"I know we're all still confused, but we have to prepare for tomorrow, we don't know what could possibly happen" I continued and I saw them all nod.
"But how?" Shane asked and that made me stop talking.
It is easy to say that we should all have a plan about what will happen tomorrow, but it is hard to do it especially now that we are still clueless about many things.
"What's the plan? Can we come up with more then? What if ---" Shane asked one question after another but it was interrupted when Clark spoke. "Shut the fuck up, you brainless human being" Shane was about to speak up again but Clark preceded her.
"We can't resolve anything by asking those stupid questions, make a statement instead, given the fact that you have a low IQ, you can't do anything but mumble"
At some point, Clark is making sense. But is it really necessary to insult Shane like that?
"Clark is right, we'll be even more confused if we keep asking ourselves things we don't know the answer to" Nicole sighed so Shane totally became quiet.
Since I also didn't know what to do, I just chose to keep quiet and listen to them. Maybe it's fine if I stay like this.
Nicole then continued what she was saying.
"Honestly, we can't do anything about it. All we have to do is to survive, run and hide or even fight for our lives, just like what they said"
I almost stopped because of what I heard. Is this really the way out? Is this really what we need to do?
After all, somehow we can do something, somehow a plan is being developed.
"There's nothing we can do about the situation, but we can do something for ourselves, and that's to save our lives" I interjected but I feel like others don't like how the conversation is going.
A few seconds passed, without anyone saying a single word, Shane's questions suddenly came again and again.
"You mean, we'll separate tomorrow? Who's next to Sierra? Are we really going to follow what he says?" Shane's questioning was bewildering.
"Definitely yes, we don't know who will be next to Sierra and we have to follow whatever the command is. And probably, the only ones we can depend to when tomorrow comes and the next few days are only ourselves"
Nicole gave a long explanation but Shane looked even more confused as she got up from sitting.
"What?!? Are you serious?! I can't! Why don't we just get together tomorrow when the bell rings?!? Or can't we just run away?!" Shane scolded so I immediately approached her and Dexter did the same thing.
I tried my best to calm her. We also tried to make Shane sit on the bed again. I wiped the tears from her eyes.
"Shh .. Shane, take a deep breath" I said, but she speaks again. "Aren't you afraid? Why do you have the courage to say to face the coming tomorrow alone?"
"We are all scared, Shane. But we can't just let ourselves be eaten by the things that scare us. We can't do your suggestions because we will complicate things even more" Nicole explained and Shane finally calmed down.
"As for the traitor, we can't be sure of that. But I think, there really is a deceiver among us, this game can't just be developed without everything being planned. We have to find out who the hell is the deceiver" Clark seriously responded and we turned our attention to him.
He has been saying insults and starting fights since yesterday, but now that he is serious about everything he says, I can't help but be anxious for each other.
"How can there be a traitor among us? We're friends here and we know each other" Brix suddenly interrupted but Clark smiled bitterly.
"Do we really know each other?" He asked. Brix was right and I couldn't understand what Clark is trying to say.
"Oh come on, it's not like we are solid friends to each other" he laughed as he said that statement. "And besides, relationship doesn't mean you won't be betrayed. Sometimes, whoever else you think is true to you, they're the ones who will stab you in the back" We all stopped and think about that statement of Clark. I can't quite imagine someone will be able to betray us all.
We're all friends here, aren't we?
"You know what's the worst thing about betrayal? It never comes from your enemy" he added, and a deafening silence formed throughout the room.
A few seconds passed and we heard Daniel's loud sigh. We all stared at him and he confusedly looked back at us.
"How about you Daniel? Maybe you want to contribute? Share your thoughts with us, weirdo" Clark said and Daniel smiled sparingly.
"If that's the case, then there is one thing we must do ..." We all focused our attention on Daniel and looked forward to what he would say next.
"Trust nobody"
[Third's Person Point of View]
Tuesday came and everyone was worried. They were all awake but no one wanted to speak. They just quietly feel what would happen next.
They carefully monitor the surroundings.
It was past eight o'clock in the morning when the amplified bell suddenly rang. Their bodies became numb from what they heard. It was a signal that they needed to separate with each other and do everything they could to save their own lives.
Nervous and fear prevailed in their chests, but they still chose to leave the room.
