[Shane's Point of View]
I just woke up to see an entire black everything around. I feel that a handkerchief is covering my eyes. I am now sitting in a chair and my hands are tied behind my back.
I have no clear memories of why and how I got into this situation. All I knew was that while I was hiding in the science laboratory, something hit my head and I lost consciousness.
I'm starting to feel afraid because I know at this point, the number of breathe that I will be able to do is now uncertain.
Why did we end up in this situation again? Because of that fucking game! It's all Kean's fault!
What if I actually die today? How will my parents handle the pain it will cause them, and even Brix. No, this can't be! I have to live for the people who love me.
I was about to fall into deep thought when I heard a crackle not far from where I am. "W-who's there?"
I can hardly say those two words for I feel terrified right now. Fuck it! Being like a weak piece of shit is what I hate the most. But how can I not be scared when my life is what I'm talking about here?
Few seconds later, I heard a noise, it was like something rising from the floor. It sounded like a metal and I can hear a rattling.
"W-Who are you? L-Let me out of here! This is not a good joke!"
That thing just kept making noise, until the sound became louder and louder until I realized that the person holding it was right in front of me.
I was startled when the man suddenly removed the handkerchief that had been placed over my eyes.
My vision was blurred for a short moment, it then became clear and I realized that in front of me is the man wrapped in a black cloth and wearing a mask.
I avoid looking at him because I can't bear to stare into his eyes. My eyes seem to burn when our eyes met. I quickly looked around and only then I realize that I am still now in science laboratory.
I felt even more frightened because I knew that science laboratory was too far away from other departments and buildings. It is isolated because the equipment is too dangerous so it should not be too exposed. If Brix and my friend try to find me, it might be too late.
I didn't realize that I was starting to cry. I don't really know what to do anymore. It was as if at any moment I would be deprived of life, I still want to live, I still want to grow old with Brix but at this point, it seemed like all of those things would remain just a dream.
"Just relax Shane, we haven't even started, yet you're crying already" I stopped when the person in front of me spoke.
That voice.
I can't be wrong, that voice sounded so familiar, I'm quite sure I knew who owns that voice.
"W-Who are you?" I heard a disturbing series of laugh, I wanted to cover my ears but I couldn't.
I was stunned even more when some people laughed along with it and it was only then that I noticed that we were not alone, there were others that being wrapped in black cloth and also wearing masks.
Does this mean there isn't just one traitor among us?
"Tell me who you really are!" I scolded them and they immediately stopped laughing and looked at me at the same time.
It was as if I had lost strength in their stare. I wish I hadn't asked them that way because they seem to be killing me right away in their thoughts.
"Do you really want to know who we are?" I was about to speak when they suddenly removed the masks they were wearing.
I became numb when I got to know who they are. I knew all of them. They are smiling like demons that have been freed from hell, they are no longer the people I know.
"W-Why? W-Why are you doing this? W-what's the reason?" I stuttered.
They approached me at the same time and it was only then that I noticed that they all have long knives tied in their waists and it was the metal object I've been hearing.
They surrounded me and picked up their long knife one by one from the floor. "N-No, please, don't do this to me, have mercy—" I couldn't finish what I was about to say when I suddenly felt my right arm being cut off.
Fuck! It fucking hurts like hell! I feel like I'm going to faint from the pain I'm feeling! "Ahhhhh!! E-Enough please, don't—" and I felt them cut my toes.
My whole body was almost numb, I wished I could just pass out so that I wouldn't feel the pain.
"H-Have mercy on me, I-I still want to live"
But then they chopped off my left arm. Gradually that metal sinks into my body. They even meant to slow down so I could feel the pain even more.
I have completely lost the strength to speak, little by little I also feel dizzy that I wish I could just die quickly so that I cannot feel anymore.
I could still hear their laughs as if they were playing some fun games. I just want to die, I don't want to sense and feel anything anymore. I am starting to have a vision of what life I had. I still got a lot of dreams to pursue, but everything is ending this way.
"Your left ear is quite pretty, let's cut it off" and they did cut it.
I was bathing in my own blood and in great pain. I feel like I'm floating. I just really want to die at this point, I hope they just killed me right away.
"Wait, it doesn't end here" I tried to understand that sentence even though I was dizzy. My vision was blurry but I saw something green that one of them had taken from the cabinet.
"We thought of treating the wounds you got so it would not create any infection" one of them slowly approached me and there I could only see that the thing is an alcohol.
"D-Don't, AAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
[Third Person's Point of View]
Everybody immediately got out from their hiding place. Most decided to go to the hall.
Meanwhile, Brix didn't hesitate to look for Shane in any corner of the school. He just keeps running regardless of the fear he feels.
Every step he takes is heavy but fast. He knew that as time went on, the chances of him finding Shane alive were getting smaller and smaller.
He knew to himself between Keisha and Shane, he cares more about Shane even though Keisha was the first one he loved. And now he doesn't know how he would feel when he finds out something bad has happened to her.
Brix had already reached the other department but neither Shane's shadow can be seen.
He just kept running as fast as he could. Until he slightly stops and almost fell to the ground when he encountered the man in a black cloth and who is also wearing a mask.
He was about to run away from the man when he suddenly spoke. "Shane is in the science laboratory" he said and Brix was unable to identify the owner of that voice because it sounded like a robot and seemed to be using an instrument to change its voice.
"W-What did you do to her?!" trembling, Brix's voice was still full of courage and concern.
"Hurry up, before it's too late HAHAHAHAHA!"
Even if he wanted to avenge Shane, he could not do it. He preferred to go to the place where he can find her.
He didn't know if it was just a hoax, he didn't know either the reason why he believed it, all he knows is that he wants to save Shane.
He took quick steps towards the science laboratory, even though he was catching his breath, he didn't even think to rest.
A few minutes and he got there. He could no longer breathe because of traces of blood not far from the room itself.
He slowly entered the room. He barely breathe as he sees Shane's situation and that made him fell on the ground.
Shane's both arms, toes, left ear were cut off and she is being bathed by her own blood. Tears welled up in Brix's eyes because of the mixed emotions he feels, anger at himself and the person who did it. He feels pity for what happened to Shane.
Brix lie down on the floor in agony. A few seconds passed and he heard Shane's weak breathing so he immediately approached her.
"S-Shane, I-I'm here" he whispered while trembling holding her head.
At that point, Brix knew Shane was dying, He knew that her breathes won't last long.
"S-Shane sorry I-If I came late, f-forgive me" Brix said between his sobs.
Even though Shane's eyes were closed, she's glad she's hearing her boyfriend's voice for the last time. She's too weak to keep up with Brix's cries.
"K-k—" Shane is trying to form a word and Brix came a little closer so he could hear what she was saying.
"K—k"
"S-Shane do you need to say something?"
"K—Keisha" Brix's mind is now filled with many questions. "K—Keisha"
"S-Shane did I hear it right? K-Keisha? What's with her? S-Shane tell me"
Before Shane could speak again she was out of breath. Brix could do nothing but cry and hug her.
After nearly an hour of Brix's grieving, he was dumbfounded as he stares at the emptiness. He couldn't feel anything, his world seems to fall apart now that the person he loves the most is gone. No words can even describe how much pain he's feeling right now.
Even though he feels weak enough to be able to walk, he still decided to go back to the room where his friends were.
They were startled when they saw Brix because he seemed to be talking with himself. There was blood spread to various parts of his body and clothes.
"Brix? What happened to you? Where's Shane?" Alexis greeted Brix but he couldn't say a word, all he could to is cry in front of them.
Even though his eyes were blurry due to continuously crying, he still manage to have a quick glance at Keisha who is sitting on her bed, dumbfounded. He knew to himself that something's wrong with Keisha.
At that point, there is only one question that cross Brix's mind.
